I like the Enduro1 races very easy to have some fun.
I have done a couple now.
2011 race at Caesars Camp, Aldershot. (in my team) 2nd place
2012 Tidworth (in kimbers team) 3rd
2012 Swinley (in my team) 1nd place
2013 FoD on 16th (in my team)

Just turn up, don’t take it to seriously and have some fun. See how you get on.

Kimbers you solo or stoned fish team?

Here are some longer options: http://www.qecptrailcollective.co.uk/trails/xc-routes-in-the-area/

Any linked with a lap of the red trail would be a good days ride.

Scott yes and no in equal measure, the qecp gravity enduro is my next stop. Might look into being slightly more ‘equipped’ and check out next season

Fingers crossed for the same weather at the Gravity Enduro.

Is the track still open to ride afterwards?

Officially no, It’s in event only woodland. But unofficially if there are on other events on maybe.

Bloody great fun it was too, my first dh race and I’ve now got a new itch to scratch I think.

Gravity Project Round 5 it is then 😉

It was a good day, lots of tight racing.

I hope the GP guys do a few more there on some of the other tracks on that hill. The tracks are significantly better & longer than the usual stuff they use. As long as the park agrees and that woodland is available to rent next year we will hopefully host another round, thinking about the steeper bit of the hill where the push up was.

But that’s to look at next year, got the gravity enduro tracks to finish now and try and organize another top event for everyone.

That looks good. Might come in handy one day.

We have done it twice with large estates. What about buying a big car and sell it when you get back? If you find one cheap you can sell it for more than you paid for it.

    some thing like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-PEUGEOT-406-LX-HDI-110-SILVER-DIESEL-ESTATE-CAR-/300910446392?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item460fa90738#ht_569wt_959

Stages will take place on bridleways, tracks, open moorland and through forested areas around the Princetown and Burrator area.

So its not a race then? I though only offroad soprtives, like the wiggle super series used bridleways.

Certainly the fact that the sport class has been omitted from the race would suggest a lot of DH.

    and the venue 8)

Do you think they could chuck surface to air in? Or would that surpass the DH ability of some of the guys racing – I have no idea what to expect

normally they use don’t any runs in full, bits of one DH track to another, some fresh bits etc… There is no reason not to use bits of S2A unless Aston hill have asked them not to.

speed is you friend, brakes are your enemy and unweight the bike as much as possible.

Oh good, I was hoping that might be the case It’s just from what I’ve seen of last year’s FoD one, they hardly used the DH at all.

I didn’t do the FoD round but i think one of the stages was down corkscrew.

Are you doing FoD round this year?

Enduro1 enduro at Aston Hill, and I can’t imagine they’d use much of the DH,

Last year at tidworth there were 3 stages down the DH trails. So i don’t see why not.

DH track for next Sunday race is now 100% finished and it is riding amazing. It’s going to be epic!! Long, fast and fun. Can’t wait for next weekend. There is still lots of spaces for people who still want to race.

Going to try and do the races at Swinley and Aston Hill. I’m hoping that next year there will be a load more enduro races.

I don’t think the race at swinley will go ahead, If QECP one goes well in planning on running a 3 Race series in the South Downs for 2014.

Should be good Not rode the AM bike for a while, Just the HT’s I will get the QE DH race out the way and start practicing.

Urge must love that pic the only guy in the with an Enduro style helmet (Urge Archi-Enduro) is not wearing it. The others all have Full DH lids (as far as I can tell)

    scottfitz

Crashing and landing on the XC lid you’ve strapped to your back must feel awesum!

But if your wearing your mandatory back protector it shouldn’t be too bad.

Well that really is daft then, fit some really wide ‘drop bars’ then a tall/ugly stem to put the hand position pretty much in the same place as a narrow MTB bar. The only thing you’ve changed is the orienation of the hands.

and CX/Road style shifter and cable disc brakes but apart from that it looks like its the same bike.

What exactly is the point of that monstercross bike?

    No idea.

Monstercross bike would be good for something like the sdw, but limited use

Not sure it was only 1×10

I really like the fat bike, it was better thatn the surly on i rode last year. Slacker and a more aggrssive feel.

The monstercross bike was nuts on trail type riding, very fast but not as light as i thought it would be.
