Whats Swinley Forest like? Is it worth the 1hr trip?

Very good, give it ago. Easy to follow blue and read trail.

I think have the results on roots and rain would be good to so you can compare your times with your mate’s and overall times etc….

QECP team took first even with my bad day at the office. Cuffed with that!! Next round my aim is to stay on the bike.

    OT sorry guys:

OT: Cheers for that, presume 3hrs 10 is with fair bit of faff and waiting for stage starts etc, should be able to spin round it 2.5hrs or less at a moderate rate? I will see. Certainly this FOD one wasn’t much of a fitness test compared to the UKG at Afan and I could have done a second lap so might do a full practise one at QECP

Yep 2.5 at a medium pace. You couple practice more if want or have an extra hour in bed 😉

Hope there are chicken lines if you can’t roll some bits heh

    Yep slower chicken lines.

I’m doing that one as well, saw the rules thing on facebook yesterday saying practise in the morning which sounds great!

Yep made that decision because there are a couple of feature that aren’t rollerable plus it makes a bit more of a day of it (The endurance bit)
Here are some rough stats for you the Race will be 17km, 1600ft of climbing and 3h10mins long. So if you want to practice the whole track then double the stats 😉 If you only going to practice one stage I subject Stage 1 is the best one to do.

    5 mins and under a £10. Simple.

OP. what exactly do you need and when?

Its not for me is a guy in the state working over here and ask me if i could tell hime where he could: “Do you know of any high end bike rental places? (i.e. No cushy seats, no squishy tires, no basket)”

I will tell him about Mountain trax cheers guys

Have you tried using friction paste?

so something like Finish Line Fiber Grip Assembly Gel?

I’m having a similar problem at the moment. 27.2 dropper in steel frame (not used any grease yet) seat post slips unless i do it up mega tight, then the dropper won’t drop.

I’m going to try and give it a good clean and put some grease on it. I hope this will help. I have Teflon grease will this be OK or should i try and get some Carbon stuff.

Maybe ask CE what the situation is, are you thinking of organising something there under the QECP banner ?

No it was more of a general question. We have enough to do with the NEW QECP blue trail (When we get started, in September). Also will have at lest 3 races next year at QECP, XC, DH and maybe a couple of Gravity enduros. Too much to do 😯

    Back to Swinley:
On the enduro1 website it still says Swinley for round 4. I might pop Carlos a email.

been to swinley before but not since they have these fixed routes. so is it best to do blue first then link to red or what?

You can do half the blue then the red then the second half of the blue. Thats what we did

    scottfitz

Blue is great, red feels unfinished.

I ride my bike for fun, have strava running on my phone. If I am quicker than last week that’s great, if I get a KOM bonus.
depo user & straight line stravaknobs are irrelevant to me.

P.S straight line stravaknobs please use depo and stop trashing out trails please.

As above. You need to narrow it down a bit.

I’m in Calgary, have been for almost 4 years and can’t see myself coming back.

But it started snowing in October this winter and only stopped towards the end of April. That is a long winter if you do not ski or simmilar. I like the people but I mostly mix with bikers, skiers and climbers which is no different to the UK.

Any specific questions though feel free to ask. There are threads on here as has been done before. I have some questions could you PM me please mail in profile.

teach me to be quicker next year

If it goes well this year then we will look at doing a series next year, 3 race or something like that.

No everyone rides the same 4 Stages but you have more time to complete the transition. We made the decision to have 1 transition stage because we could concentrate on building the Timed stages which are about 75% new trails.

Also the current plan is to have morning practice 8 till 11.30, then the start the race at 11.30, fun cat wouldn’t start till at least 12.20 so you would have a bit of a rest in-between.

    scottfitz

They will take longer than the downs to ride

    I should hope so.

    scottfitz
    Free Member

There are 4 stage and 1 transition stage and you(In the fun cat) will get 30mins to complete a stage and get back to the top for the next stage. I reckon run time will be from about 3min to 6mins long depending on the stage, rider and conditions.
