Not to much riding round Fareham its self but if riding from Fareham head north to boarhunt/West walk. But the best MTB in the are will be found by jumping in a car for a bit.

We ride QECP(18mins away)or Kingly vale(25mins away) every Wednesday night. Tonight is KV if you fancy it 😉
    Rides posted here:
    Kingleyvalemontainbikers.ning.com

or the Lordwood’s boys ride there every Thursday night (22mins away)
    They post on here.

    Iolo there are some differences between the frames;

    Geometry
    Materials and construction techniques
    Optimum fork length
    Axles
    Head tube standards
    Weight
    Price
    colour
    Seat tube size
    Full Build option

Other than those though it’s the same

    Added a couple more.

How long would it take to cycle to Cannock or Long mynde? I do have a car but would prefer not to use that if I can help it

Ride Cannock about an hour each way.

If driving In order of what I would go to first:
    1:Long myndd
    2:Eastridge
    3:Cannock

Would be nice if they did a bigger Mud X though as it’s a good general tyre.

I second that a 2.25 one would be great, I would buy it.

Bicycles need Round wheels, that is all…

I have a rear wheel that isn’t round and it still works, in fact it clears mud really well.

My clag/chalk/Roots South Downs combo is mudx 2.0 or Spesh storm 2.0 (might try a beaver one year) on back and a swampthing up front 2.35.

Edit: Spesh storm 2.0 come up a bit bigger than mudx 2.0

Hopefully the QECP ones will take off this coming year.

I am very excited about this and I can’t even race them. Round 1 will be a First for England. We will release date”S” and venue”S” Before the end of the year and none clash with UKGE (I Checked with Steve Parr) 😀

Which is why an XC bike would have been far better for this “Enduro” round.

Agree if a did it again it would be on my XC Hardtail, would lost a couple of seconds on the on Stage 1 and 3 but take minutes of my Stage 4 time.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing 😉

Still unsure if I want to do round 4. We will see closer to the time.

Edit: Well-done to Swindon Gravity Team, Good Job guys. Stage 4 won that for you, that cramp was worth it.

They used a couple of the DH runs:

Stage 1: Red Run starting on the start ramp and ending on boardwalk. (Different end for run 2)

Stage 2: Started near the start of the 4x track in a bombhole, down half the 4x track, small up & down XC loop, finished at the end of the 4x track.

Stage 3: DH3 with climb bit before the fire road crossing.

Stage 4: Up hill sprint from near the bottom of DH3, up the xc climb, past the short cut sign and finishing at the top of the fireroad.

barry Pritchard seems to turn up to MTB downhill events occasionally and win them

Does he? He has no roots and rain race history.

I only saw that one guy (apart from me).

Might be worth emailing him: http://www.rootsandrain.com/photos/dan-harmer/

Anyone got any news on a round 4?

This was pinched for another forum:
“I was speaking to Carlos after the event and he confirmed round 4 will be at UKBP but will use none of the existing DH runs and all stages will have to be freshly cut.”

I spoke to Carlos at the end too and he said UKBP on 20th Oct, which rules me out, I will be doing this one: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/99203/Gravity-Project-Autumn-Race-1#entry

    Ferry Portsmouth-Santander

    Ferry to Kristiansand,

Both really good locations for riding but not the cheapest ferry crossings.

I think Beavers are a better tyre than the Mud-x, better rolling and slighty more volume.

I think I will give beavers a go when my mudx are worn out

a southern series would be my preferred option

I might be able to help you with that one 😉
What sort of thing do you want all venues within an hour ish from London 😉

I have not done a Gravity Enduro in the UK that I have reckoned needed a Full Face Yet, however not raced at Inners yet. A “full-face be obligatory” Would put me off a bit but I’m sure I would still race. Just flick through the Eastridge pics its about 90% open face.
