I have had my Vectiox ring on for about 4 rides now, I went for it because my race face one wore out after 6 month (Chain has started falling off). The vectiox one seems great, Raced a vey muddy DH race yesterday and no issues with no chain device, just clutch and thick/thin. I have order 2 more.

QECP was good last night, did 28.5km and 950m of elevation all off-road 8)

Edit: lordswood is also about the same time to get to so if you want to go for 2 rides.

Edit 2: there is a Thursday lordwood ride that is organised on here and I/we ride QECP on Wednesday nights.

So the timed sections are downhills, or a mix?

Biggest problem with enduro, is that you don’t necessarily know what you’re getting. Some are really pretty straightforward, others are as hard as balls.

I paid £40 to crash my bike in to things and encourage Scottfitz to pedal faster. It was ace. Looking forward to the next one, hopefully I’ll get my act togethor a bit more

Yes but you could still do it on an XC hardtrail but if you have a 140/150mm ish bike I would go for that.

there is still loads more tyre choice in 26″ than 650B. Take the Maxxis MTB range for instance.

I was quite ill so only managed a very slow stage 1. Think I might have got the slowest time across all categories

Look more trail knee pads than enduro.

I’ve just entered the hardtail catergory at Hopton Gravity Stages this weekend.

Anyone know much about how it runs from previous years?

From the vids it looks like the runs are similar to last year bit a bit shorter.

They both will take in a bit Red XC route, DH runs, Short fire roads climbs and a bit of fireroad down too. So a bit of everything really and both about 5mins+

You also can give the stages a bit of a ride on sat or on sun morning.

Would it be recommended to carry water/snakcs in a Cammelback or just leave them at the bottom field where all four descents seem to end?

Unless you are going for the win then you might as well take it with you. Good to have a multi tool, spare tube, pump, water extra. Unless you can fit most of that in your pockets and on the bike. however both stages do finish at the field.

Most importantly, will I die without a dropper?

You should be find just get of the back of the saddle for the DH bit and/or drop your saddle at the start of the stage but that might effect the climbs in the stages.

Scott, the 1st vid started going down the uphill XC section where you would normally switchback up, on a raised ridge if you remember? It then turns off onto what looks like a newly cut section and down into the quarry area of the XC trail, then pretty much same as last time (possibly slightly different at end). Havent watched the 2nd.
Would like to have done this event

Yep watched the vids sounds about right for the first one, second vid looks like same as last time but with a different start. Shame you couldn’t make this one.
