Why not go to BPW if you have not been there? When was the last time you went to Afan and Cmw Carn? both have new trails.

I have raced with Brett in the UK before he set this up. He is a top bloke and will be going to see him at some point. Plus its a great location to take the wives and girlfriends, leave them by the pool/town and go riding. Everybody is happy 😀

As a super local, my advice would be something like a beaver or mudx for 26er and NN/RR combo for 29er work well. Might come along to take so pics on the technical DH sections. No walking down hill guys 😉

So that will maintain the trail network if user drop off. If landmarc enforce it like they have done on Longmoor.

However I rode there last night and still did 28.5km and 850m of climbing. It was proper slippy but man was it fun. The DH track was insane in the thunder storm.

Only been to ‘new swinley’ ones not in a rush to go back. I preferred it before the ‘improvements’. Would go to Tunnel hill, hindhead and peaslake if I wanted some sandy action these day.

BC no longer support the format, so any new races won’t be on there calendar, As above the best calendar is Roots and rain

I think you mis-understand, even with 20/30s spacing every so often you end up with riders arriving at the finish at the same time

The way we counteract that is to take the finish time for the first riders for all 2,3,4,etc.. of them. You can’t do that if it self scan, you have to queue.

Personally I’d put the onus on the rider to scan it

the issue with that is if you get 4 riders all turn up at the same time and there is a queue to scan.

OK guy just sold out our race, used Moredirt online entry system in the end. Very impressed, very customizable, lots of support, easy to set up, cheaper that BC, the list goes on.

The XC race will be full on I reckon but the DH race is aimed at grassroots level and will be using ‘similar’ track to the enduro (27th july) if you know what I mean 😉

I would love to do more but we are involved in 4 races this year at QECP.

What’s the reason for the age categories this time scott?

A couple of reason really.

1. Sport cat is massive.
2. Its only getting bigger as people race in fun a couple of times the will be stepping up to sport.
3. to make sport more competitive. so there are 49 year old don’t have to race against 20 year olds.

There are a couple of negative main one is that it is harder to ride with you mate if there a different age cat to you. But if people tell me early I can try my best to get them near each other. (Not 2 days before the race)

I can stick you at the end of the Sport Cat but you will be setting off last and back last. You will have to be in sport as the timing system can’t handle splitting the cat’s. There is not difference between fun and sport apart from skill level/fitness of riders but you will be setting of after everyone so its not a big deal.

Quite a few events seem to be using Eventbrite for managing signups etc (we use it at work for some big events, it’s pretty good- we ended up picking it up after I saw Muckmedden using it for races, because that’s how pro we are )

Eventbrite is more expencive than XCracer, I have looked at them before

What have they done to upset you? I assume you’re organising an event and they’re making life difficult?

Don’t really want to go into it but I have/am organizing two races this year and BC WONT insure/support/host either of them.

You could always speak to Gorrick, who set up their own registration system (MBSA).

Don’t know if they would want to host your sign on too but it wouldn’t hurt to ask, or they might give you some pointers.
Sound good, I will ask for some advice, we have website so could write a simple program and use paypal. Need to look in to it more. But for the sort term (8 Days) I need a hosting site.
