more like (I suspect) amazement he rode with 25mm of steerer sticking out without impalement or emasculation

he had a top cap but as I as rather him than me. I didn’t ask him why don’t you just cut it.

There was a German guy I saw and chatted to at the mega, he had about 25mm of steers out the top of his stem with no spacers.
He told me it had been like that for 6 months. I asked him how he tightened up the headset, he said with spacers then he tightened up the stem and removed the spacers.

He was still alive so I guess it doesn’t matter but rather him than me.

I loved la thuile, also la rosierre is just around the corner, which has one of the most epic trails I have ridden.

It’s cool that if you’re driving from Bourg to La Thuile, there’s offroad routes down both sides of the col- shame for the driver, cool for everyone else

Le thuile with ride back to bourg via Little St Bernard mountain pass & La rosierre:

No top of that facebook post:

    – How technical are the courses, in comparison to UK trail centres?
Think red level but with lots of fresh cut bits and steep sections
    – How does it work on the practice day?
you will ride a lap of the course
    – On race day, how long does it go on for? What time does it start? What is the format?
    on FB post
    – What is the average distance / time to climb between stages?
you will have to wait for the start list, all depends on how close the stages are to each other
    – Any tips?
sign up you will love it. I’m not sure if I can make this one but Cann woods and Dartmoor sounds like a winner to me.

On my full suss I run a top guide too at QECP. High speed over the roots can make the can fall of the the suspension is active. Also how long is you chain? Put it on the largest cog on the cassette and post a pic

I have the stem since January I like it but you want to make sure your frame has a longish TT/Reach in my opinion.

Yep i will go for the 45mm for that reason I reckon.

Where the straps attach I would expect some wear so as said above taping is a good idea but where the plastic has rubbed next to the seals that looks like a design floor to me.

    Yes

Did the last one (circus of dirt) on my FS if I do this one it will b on my HT.

I will only be doing it if the have at least one stage in Cann woods. It was by far the best stage in the circus of dirt. For me it would not be worth the drive but if you local give it a go.

Most were shorter and with less up hill in them. Also most were fresh cut lass time but they are bedded in now, which make them roll faster.

bus took about 15mins and we only waited about 15mins, which is a good rest after a 45min run down the mountain.

    That’s the new trail map.

RT to SV to FB on the trail map is a epic run down. There is enough to keep you going for a week if you ride Tignes, Val d’isere & les brevieres.

There is a waymarked red trail (90% singlrtrack) and a waymarked Blue trail (80% fireroad). The blue trail is currently being updated to have more all-weather single track.

Scott – what time does signing on close? Given the heat and the fact I ride better blind I have a new “no practice strategy” this year! (Yes, I know it’s not recommended but I’m old and lazy)

    Not 100% sure but I reckon 10:30
