ZEEs are £50 more than SLX. Get the SLX and some ice tec rotors for the same price as the ZEE.

there is a sign that’s a touch confusing though, as in it points in both direct when exiting onto a path.

Red or blue, if blue we are still waiting for them to sign post the new blue bits. I hope to see the blue trail signs put up in my lifetime.

What we really need is an uplift assisted enduro format, something styled on Trans Savoie maybe…

9th may 2015 Glencoe, Scotland. Bluegrass enduro tour 😉

    Edit: mass start too 😉

    Enduro Races 2013 24
    Enduro Races 2012 16
    Enduro Races 2011 7

Knock it all you want its the fastest growing cycling race discipline in the UK.
    10,000 plus racers in 2014.

    My take on format:
Multiple stages race with transitions between stages. Stages go downhill using a mix of trail and terrain. Short climbs and flat sections can be added to increase the endurance factor of a stage.

Its typical QECP Winter conditions, apart from the surfaced bits of the new blue trail.

So yes worth a trip but there will be mud and it will be slippy 😉

    Hi Guy,
Bit of a shame this has all come about but the park officially knows about the trail now so if they didn’t do some thing about this and some has another accident they could be in real shit.

In the last 3 years the number of MTB trails has probably doubled so not all bad, trails will come and go but hopefully we are always improving, extending and increasing the trail network.

An important part of that is keeping the park happy but also they need to do there bit too. For about 6 months or longer we have been asking them to put up the Blue trail signs but the have been to busy, yet the have time to constructed 5+ fences. I’m not impressed, PUT UP THE F@ING BLUE TRAIL SIGNS!!!!!!! 👿 👿

Anyway please don’t ride the closed trail and stay safe out there 🙂

That clash wont happen again Kimbers as the Enduro organisers are now all working together for a brighter future for enduro in the UK.
Steve’s decided to run his new british champs on the same day as the EWS.

yes the French round. I meant UK races, Sorry 😉

I’m sure the FF helmet rule will not effect the UKGE sales, It would stop me entering them.

i dont fancy riding a full enduro with a full face lid
You still have lots to choose from, if rule was in place last year it would have been only 6 races out of 44 effected.

    UKGE Only at the moment.
Some of the Euro ones too. ie bluegrass one in Scotland.

I have talked with most UK race organisers and at the moment none of them are going to follow UKGE (Yet) some might see how it effect the sales of UKGE races.

Gilles – it will be fine on a dry day but I would leave it until the spring/summer to get the best out of the place but on Sunday I didn’t get very muddy.

Is this Britain’s first pay to ride trail

I’m thinking that paying for up lift is paying for a service not to ride

You have to pay to ride BPW without the uplift so no is the answer

Also a thumbs up for Owens in Steep too.

My actual LBS (hargroves)has been great this year and now Tamed Earth has proven once again that we need to try and keep these gems alive. I think all my expensive purchases will now be done through the LBS because the service makes it worthwhile.

Yes 100% agree both Tanned Earth (run by a really nice guy) and Hargroves (Especially the Chichester store) have really supported the local MTB community. Cycleworks (Petersfield) not so much.

Helmets will still be riders choice for the 2015 QECP endure races.

They look like fun. Are there any in South Wales?

2 at QECP and a round of the UKGE at triscombe.

How about all you STW veteran racers, did you have jitters before your first?

I get a little nervous be for every race, but that soon goes when you start having fun and realised how friendly everyone is.

I think I’m worried about going arse over tit in front of a load of people. Part of it is an “urban enduro” so the ground will be rock hard too. Literally.

I wouldn’t worry everyone had a first races once. don’t worry about being overtaken that is all part of the fun. If its a good race organizer they should sort out some sort of seeding that should help that.

The main improvement for me would be better signage for walkers to point out the dangers of walking up the red descent, in particular not have small children and dogs scattered about moving in random manners.

Dogs is that all, a coulpe of year back i had a horse coming up the final descent!!

    Done.

More trail variety basically would be my vote, more of the red stuff (and some black maybe). If you’re coming from further away it’s an hour or so of mostly climb and an over too quick descent, but that’s it. Need enough to make it a day out. Though it’s good spin for locals or in passing. Except in the wet of course, but don’t think much can be done about the clay

Admitted I’ve not checked in on the ongoing developments by the Collective in a year or more so not sure if it’s achieved these kinds of improvements, but more of it basically is needed

Full cred to the Collective for their efforts regardless.

100% agree, also here is a recent trail update on where we are at and where we are going:
