BB- I have a Hybrid too. Does about 30mpg and I can’t get more than 250miles out of a tank. I had to fill it up 4 times on Monday on a trip to Scotland that I used to do there and back on one tank in my previous car.

They are so back on economy that the car scheme expressly forbids them now; they cost so much to run in fuel costs.

Diesel is better for monster miles. Worse for tax.

It’s the best way to Company car.

Low miles, so can run electric only on the daily drive. Low tax so an actual benefit.

Hybrids are best for journeys like this. They are hopeless on long runs.

And the Merc is 2ltr too. As anyone should know if they were spouting on the internet

    As above; Bird tape.

I tried Stans but got nowhere; it’s too stiff to mould to the profile, and too wide to just sit in the well.

Bird worked first time and has never gone down again. You get a gurt roll for little cash, too.

Ferrero Rocher..now that is real crap

Ferrero? You mean the people who own Thornton’s?

You’ve gotta love Cougar’s “I know how to get around this” smuggery.

The fact it isn’t friendly, or obvious, shows that is basically a flawed design.

Playstation by comaprison seems to do it all for you.

I’ve never had to google “error code 116” on Playstation, it’d just tell you if there was an issue.

I think I should stick my 2p’s in here.

I worked for a company that folded last year, partly due to an £85 million shortfall in the pension. The pension liabilities have gone to the PPF and are now on a more secure footing than they were.

So much so that a colleague had his figures for early retirement before the business closure; and has now retired on a much better deal from the PPF than he got when the business was a going concern.

The received wisdom is that moving from a DB scheme is madness. Having been in the middle of such a situation I would agree with that view.

I moved my DC pension fund with a couple of signatures, and the cash figure there was 3 times the DB limit; what does that tell you?

This hurdle is to prevent you making a far reaching mistake without really making you think about it. But it sounds like you are going to do it anyway.

    Ho hum.

Sadly not; not the current design. It’s this one

I’ve gone down the Google route and there’s nothing close up enough that I can see the layout properly. Ideally I could get my paws on a bottle and measure, but I can work out most things from a good pic. That one isn’t sharp enough when puffed up

Now sitting through two hours of Victoria, what a load of shite

    Queen or Wood?

Equally horrific, but I just wondered.

Nothing; they’d have rung the LEA.

My lad got Fifa 16 a few months back from Game for £3.99

Because he likes it so much he wanted Fifa 17 for a good report. £10.

No way would I buy a game with such a short shelf life when just released.

Massa was extremely lucky to have not been killed by debris and there was nothing he could have done to avoid that

And the Halo is unlikely to help in that situation anyway. Nor Bianchi’s. And it might impede a swift exit. Nor does it mean you are indestructible; deaths still occur in closed cockpit racing.

    But it’s coming.

We have a 20-minute rule for films. If we can’t stand any more, or just don’t care what happens it gets binned.

The Girl on the Train was this weekends casualty. Everyone was unpleasant. Bye.

Ah, Pertwee, a really odd character

My only question is… is she a decent actor?

By all the fluff shouted on here; doesn’t matter; she’s a woman!

And as long as she shouts “That Becka Fisher is a right slag” a la Broadchurch she’ll do alright.

The really old Tamiya MSC in the early-mid 80-‘s was a great piece of kit, a proper wound rheostat that was fully variable. Later ones were 3 speed.

A digital will solve a lot of problems in one go.

In Florida last year I used Scarpa Spark and Salomon XR Missions.

Both were comfy and very cool, but the Scarpa were a bit less ‘serious’ and better for leisure rather than Ultra marathons.

Looking for another pair of Scarpas to replace them now they are getting a bit tired.

If youwant somethng less racy, my wife loved Skechers Go-walks. Very light and minimalist, yet reportedly comfy even at high miles.

I always used a combination of Clarity card and a Supercard, because each had it’s advantages.

Now Supercard is dead, I’ll stick with the Clarity. I’ll take the extra penny for section 75 protection.

Would you try and get a 5k discount because the last rewire was done 8 years ago and wouldn’t pass current regulations? Or 10k discount because the driveway isn’t permeable and run off goes onto the road?

    Yes.

This is STW; anything that isn’t 12 speed Di2 is worthless

With 19″ wheels it’s hard to know if it’s just the size or the harder run flat side walls which make the ride poor.

    Both!

As for the spare dilemma, get some tyre plugs. It’s what the RAC/AA use and it’ll likely get you to the next tyre fitter without too much fuss.

I believe they should be allowed to do whatever they want to “save” their child, but on the proviso that the cost is met out of their pockets or those who support them.

Which is where they are, more or less.

Trouble is, there is room for Quackery were you have cash, and someone else has a ‘cure’

The mum was on tv over the weekend, talking how a medicine, taken orally, could fix their son, and they had to go to the US to get it.

Could they not post it to the UK? It would be eaiser on the child than a 10 hour flight. And if he responded then all’s well.

I get the feeling they are being fed a line by people who know how desperate they are, but love the smell of wellwishers money on them.

My credit history goes back to the early 90’s and I had lots of loans/credit and even store cards.

One store card is now run by Santander, and I paid £840 in Insurance fees.

With interest etc. it was over £5000!

Nope, salary is easily verified and lying … to obtain a larger salary is a criminal offence

    Is. It. Bollox.

I could say I’m on double my existing salary at interview. If a company think I’m worth that then they may pay it. They may tell me to jog on, or offer me 25% of that.

If they agree, it’s not theft, or fraud, or blackmail. It’s what they are willing to pay.

So who is the victim of this crime?

45p per mile for first 10k miles, 25p per mile thereafter

I used to get that. On top of £600 a month car allowance.

You are being lightly bummed. It works better for the company? I bet it does.
