Strange they didn’t go for the Orange Crank Bros wheels. That would have upped the orangeyness of the thing.

If you looked a bit closer, you will find that there are still reduced frames in various colours and sizes. Not to £1331 levels, but still a couple of hundred quid less than RRP.

Dalby. Black route. Boring boring boring.

Staying at rellies and was back by lunchtime in a grotty mood. Went to the park with the kids and a kite and much more fun to be had.

I can’t recommend Ride-On highly enough. Good lads and always willing to help.

Don’t go up to the bungalow; the occupants get mighty fed up with the traffic. Take the left half way up the hill onto the footpath as Rooley says.

Simons directions are bob on, but the road (right after 200m…) has now been yellow brick roaded to take the skill out of riding up it. The big downside is that coming downhill is a 50mph scream, so watch out for loons coming down.

My house is on that map :-)

Our postie freely admits that any parcels will not be delivered; they will be left at the office and a card dropped. I live on a hill, so that makes it alright.

Regular mail is dropped at 1.30pm ish. Holiday cover – 10.30 ish. It must be universal.

David Coulthard must be delighted that Red Bull are struggling without him.

Mr Barlow was a bit too cartoon to be scary though. James Mason was more frightening.

Ferrari are still poor sports even without the German.

The team radio at the start told there drivers that the Brawn was compromised aerodynamically to help cooling, and they should expect it to be slow. And then it danced away.

That must have made them look good in front of the big boss.

    I’m stoopid, I’m a nobody
    I’m stoopid, I’m famous
    I’m stoopid, I’m dead.

The 3 acts in a nutshell.

Have you looked at the Islabike range? My eldest has the Hotrock 20 (and 16 and 12) and I nearly got the Beinn Large for him, but being able to sit him on one won over.

    Great bike, those Spesh’s.

The SL feels more flimsy than the 06 – the fork is great when it works, but not much better than a Fox Float 36.

The SL is lighter and a better climber, but the 06 still edges it on the downs. And if you get the SL you become concerned about weight again!

    S’up to you.

Merlin were doing a Blizzard full build with XT and 2009 Rebas for £1100 not that long ago.

A 2006 one for the same money seems a bit optimistic.

Don’t bring Turner to a Merlin/Ellsworth party then

The decals I was looking at were like these. My bike was very similar to the one above. Fox F100’s, Mini Pros, except I had Red CK hubs. Very light. Very nice ride. Got my head turned by a Tracer VP and sold it on to someone on this forum.

    rj, no he’s dead wrong.

The spacers don’t let the fork fully extend, they don’t stop it hitting the bottom. There length of stanchion should be whatever the travel is, plus 5-10mm.

They are a tremendous bike; rides like an Ellsworth Truth but much lighter and no finish to scratch or scuff. The decals are not to everyones taste; I was going to pull them off mine and replace with the classic white logo’s, but I decided that it was worth shouting about.

But I did have a black post and stem, I won’t compromise on that

I can recommend Middleburn hardcoat; I’ve had several sets. Last longer than Shimano, but are slightly less sweet shifting. Much, much cheaper though.

King are great. Indestructable, servicable and look great. A load of tremendous colours to stand out as if teh noise wasn’t enough. They need care, but reward it with a lifetimes use.

If you don’t like them, that’s fine. I do. I also rate Hope, though. They do need care less often, but more than just a clean and lube. They need new parts and a big hammer.

Crosstrails are a great wheelset; I’ve had some for about 18 months. They’ve needed nothing more than a service. They are lighter than the Bonty wheels, unless you get the Race X Lites, and as you say the Bonty still need the rim strips which adds even more weight.

    I like them. :D

According to Martin Lewis, if you buy an item that is more than £100, and any part of that is on a Credit crad, you are covered.

We got a clock/light (a Thomas one for my 4 and a bit year old boy) that is a nightlight during sleepy hours and goes off at a set time.

We simply laid down the instructions that if the light is on, you should be in bed, quiet. Getting up for toilet breaks is fine, but back to bed until the clock changes.

Worked a treat, he stays in bed instead of bouncing out at 5am!

Unlikely, due to the non-hetro twist at the end. And Kelly Brook must be worksafe; she’s on Strictly and Brucie would never stand for that sort of nonsense.

Utter drivel. Turned it over, it was so lame it was unwatchable.

Dead horse, well flogged; give it up.
