I was there on Monday (thanks for the GPS track stumpyjon!) and had a great time.

I was astonished by the number of folks who had turned up after hearing good things, but had no idea where to go. I passed out a few printouts of the route I had in the car, but goodness knows how many just wander around the forests missing all the good stuff.

When are the waymarks going up?

Having just returned another set of Bolt through Revs to Rockshox for fixing, I'd say Fox.

A cardiologist friend advised me that the only people that should eat pasta are ultra endurance athletes

I think you should post his name, so real people can avoid this quack.

I got an LG 47″ 1080p from Comet last week for £630. And a day later went back and got a Bluray player for £99.

    Desperate retailers are great.

I think it’s prettier than the Mojo; not as slab sided.

It all depends how it rides rather than looks, but it’s suprising how often that is overlooked.

I hope you didn’t tip him; your date will think you’re a real pussy.

Never have a go at people bringing you food; that’s a good way of getting saliva in your nosh.

It’s only the very young who take offence at being thought younger than they are.

So, she must be a nipper despite her protests! Simple.

Yes you can. Get the right adaptors, old ones out, pop them in and off you go.

I’d linky to the adaptors on Chainreaction, but the ‘server is too busy’ Poor thing.

    OP didn’t mention Rockshox.

Revelations – last years best fork ever. This year, bolt through version squirts all it’s oil out of the top cap on 2 pairs between my mates.

It’sbound to be OEM at those prices. I got a PG990 cassette and it came wrapped in clingfilm!

But it was £20 cheaper than anywhere else, so I’m happy.

Did he not like it, then? The review struggled to get to the point.

But I don’t have to come to some sort of agreement with Mr Mosley, so calling him bonkers won’t come and bite my arse.

I think Bernie will get Max to stand down. They have been mates for years and Bernie stands to lose a huge amount of cash if it all goes wrong.

Without Max’s posturing a deal will be reached pretty quickly.

Bernie might be a strange little an, but he is financially the sharpest in the world.

Just keep his horrible daughter off the screens.

Mind you, they could get young B. Senna to step up.

I’d watch him to see if he was as good as his Uncle.

I don’t suppose he’ll struggle too much for a seat

But there will be a selection of good young (cheap) drivers and even less seats to claim before the music stops.

Mind you, Piquet Jr has the same problem. Great name, less talent.

Rosberg will not be a great loss if he’s driving a taxi next year.

He doesn’t have the talent of his father, just the name.

So next years F1 will be Force India and Williams slugging it out.

The BBC did well to only pay £150 million against no other bidders for such a spectacle.

For samller amounts it’s free, but if the amount gets larger you can still gift it, but the sender pays the fees.

Have a look at the S-Works FSR Stumpjumper, too. Now available for around the same cash but less balls out racey. Still light and fast and sleek, though.

Strange how some advert rules are rigorously enforced, and yet there is a thinly veiled trade ad in the main Bike Forum.

    Ho hum.

I’ve broken a few ‘just riding’. A couple of Specialized frames, a Heckler and a Yeti 575. I’ve broken more while doing something ill-advised on them!

The Spec’s were a treat to warranty. The Heckler made me never go near Santa Cruz again. With a bargepole.

I’ve tried and liked Ralph, and Pythons. Both nippy; but I prefer the alround excellence of the Ralphs.

Marzocchi 44’s. Very light, very expensive.

Fox 32’s are lighter by a mile. 36 are lighter than Pikes if you pick the right model.

Shimano are alright until they go wrong and you can’t get any spares. At all.

And pads are now £35 RRP!

My 5 year old has outgrown his 16″ Hotrock. He’s now on the 20″ Hotrock.

Islabike might be better, but not being able to sit and fit is a big problem with things for kids. You can sit on a mainstream bike and try out different makes and models.

I was given an older phone by my wifes mate to use on the bike.

A quick scroll through the memory found lots of vids and pics of same mate in her scanties.

    Oops.

No, I can’t agree. Nevegals are rubbish. Pikes are nice, but too heavy by about 1.25lb. If you need a 20mm axle on 140mm, you need better hubs. Ralphs are great tyres.

The boggies had a ride around my backyard

Those are my local trails. It’s not the alps, but it’s not a canal towpath either. Skiddaw was taken in it’s stride. Moab was a blast.

    It’s good. Really.

And I am the fastest downhill in any group I’ve ridden, by some margin.

So I need a lighter bike, because I’m not the fastest up the other side!

Yep, standard was about 29lb, but that was a lot of upgrading ago. The crap Nevegals were the first to go – weighed a ton, and didn’t work in mud. Same with the standard RF Evolve cranks; too heavy.

Now Full XTR, Chris Kings, Thomson masterpiece, carbon this, Ti that, blah blah blah. Scrummy.

There’s nothing on it that I don’t trust to last though. The Ti Fly saddle may be a weight saving too far, may go back to the Bel Air and cushion my chuff a bit more.

I have tried many options, but like it as it is now. These include Fox36’s, Pace (coil) Fighters and various wheels and tyres.

I prefer the way it is now; it’s honed to prefection. I can’t seem to break it, or even bend it. It screams downhill and handles perfectly, not nervous or twitchy.

More lightweight cobblers; this time the other way.

My Orange 5 weighs 25-ish pounds. It’s not built flimsy, it’s built nicely. And it’s a true weight, on a calibrated scale.

So why would it not ride like a 29lb Orange 5, but 3lb lighter?
