To add my 2p and come at it from a different side.

Don’t get RDR2; I’ve spent 2.5hrs trotting about on a horse and had 5 minutes of mild ‘action’. I have found some biscuits and murdered Bambi in place of entertainment. Don’t bother.

Same with Black Ops 4. I’ve loved every single COD release but this is just crap. It’s a poor pastiche of Fortnite which doesn’t interest me as I’m not 10 years old. No campaign mode is serious flaw.

Both will be going to Music Magpie after the holidays.

    Doom is good, though!

If it was for such a large amount, why would you not check the acount was closed and settled?

Then again, what can they do? Do they have a version of Storage Hunters down at the clinic?

I have a extensively damaged Touran with significant end of lease charges likely! But keen to order another, particularly if it cuts me some slack on the damage on the existing!?

You have to chuckle at the thought that the fee just disappears. It will be absorbed in the deal. Probably along with a soft future value for the new car because it’ll come back ruined like the original.

Lease co’s aren’t charities. You are doing the paying.

Seriously? From the drama queen who started the thread with “shall I send it back?” rather than reaching for the tools?

I have a build cert from a mechanic

You have a piece of paper signed by a monkey. What else might he have missed? Good luck on your first ride; I wouldn’t be surprised if the crank falls off

Even then the new owner of the business had replied more than the STW team have over this complete debacle! It’s fairly obvious with the slow rate of traffic on the new classifieds that no one is using the system really and paid adverts are so few and far between it’s created no real revenue that I can see! But well done for bringing down the rest of the website!

I’ve got the Velospeed one that works perfectlectly well, but is a right faff when dropping the wheel out.

I’ve ordered the MRP version as it’s bugging me a bit.

I still struggle to understand the depths of the lows someone has to be going through to actually take their own life

Aisling Bea said something brilliant when talking to Adam Buxton. Her dad commited suicide, and she thought he didn’t want to die forever, just at that moment.

If you can help someone at that moment, it might last a lifetime.

You should have been paid as usual. The fact you haven’t means you are free to pursue other interests.

If you just did a day and then stuck your notice in they owe you a months salary.

Good luck getting it off them. I doubt they will be giving you anything

Would the staff have known it hadn’t been ordered?

I suspect the staff were a little more aware than they are trying to make out. If you are passing all these lies along innocently they must have had their eyes closed for ages.

And the missing bike in for service? What reason could be given for that being spirited away that wouldn’t have a strong smell of fish?

I suspect this has been obvious for weeks; but now they can blame the top dog and look all cherubic.

    anotjer thoroughly depressing spoty

Billy Monger was natural and positive, as he always is, despite injuries that would have me sat in the bath sobbing.

He looks a cherub, but he’s got tough all the way through him.

or is it just one of those things that exist, but they don’t bother?

It’s hard to pin on a director. Believe me, I’ve tried. But it’s difficult to prove intention or incompetence. If they genuinely thought that a load of receipts would keep the wolf from the door for another month, (or can convince folk that they did) they’ll be fine.

It looks a lot to me like a Pre-pack administration. Run up debt, then sell on the good bits and cut all debt loose with the old management; it’s cynical, but legal.

And if you are a creditor, you are well down the list. Prefferential debts will be paid first; taxman, staff wages etc. Anything left will be divvied out amongst everyone with their hand out. If you can chargeback or Paypal claim, do that.

I am owed about £20,000 from an insolvency last year. I doubt I’ll see 5% of it. It won’t be soon.

Stressed out with how his weeks gone but no ones going anywhere by the sounds of it.
I would give them a few days to sort things out

    Horseshite.

Classic director speak when you are going spectacularly out of business and want to keep problems at arms length.

He’s probably saying the same to the staff; “go home, it’ll blow over in a few days and you’ll be fine”

I’ve been on the receiving end of that line; it stinks.

Didn’t know some got credit, thought everyone was pro forma.

Then you are just counting on receipts from defrauded buyers to pay for your turkey and stuffing.

it’s an odd way to go about it. If you sell £100,000 worth of hope, you’d get 98,000 in the bank, owe Hope 105,000 to buy it and spend another few hundred shipping it out.

If you have no intention of settling your account with Hope, you’re set for a £100,000 Xmas.

And you are a smug crook.

£1.99 a month and help fund it. I’m probably in the poorest percentile on this forum, struggle some months and even I can afford a sub. It’s still a great place and worth supporting.

That’s up to you. Having been on the receiving end of what Mark thinks customer care is, I vowed never to give this site another penny.

And if I get banned, I won’t get an email, coz I can only log in on one computer and can’t change the contact mail. I have mailed about this and got nothing back.

And this one computer is locked by the administrator as far as browser settings are concerned, so adblock or not is not within my control.

To be a bit more responsible I set up a new account and abandoned this one, but that was locked for 99 years for ‘having two accounts’.

This is probably in the T&C’s I didn’t really agree to when I signed up getting on for 15 years ago; they have evolved since then and no doubt so has my assumed consent.

But hey, at least my privacy is valued. All the time.

And I’ve typed this with many warnings kicking off that it’s trying to redirect.

    ‘Link removed for obvious reasons’

    What is the ‘obvious reason’?

Is it a dodgy site? If so, why does this site direct to it?

Or is it coz of some advert backhander?

I’m WAAAY stronger than I used to be

Strength is largely irrelevant; power is where it’s at.

Nothing improved my speed like a course of plyometrics; a few months of one or two sesh’s a week really upped my game.

It would be a fairy tale if Kubica found himself on the podium, but it’s unlikely.

The car would need a big leap up the field to just be reasonable, watching him drive last week showed how his injuries are affecting his driving, and he has a young hungry team mate who will want to make his mark.

    I can’t see it.

Hive / Nest …. How easy are they to self install?

Fitted a Hive this weekend. My boiler is on the top floor and I had an external timer but no thermostat.

It took about 10 minutes and does the job of both. Really impressed so far.

    Alonso: ‘I have 1800 points

You see, I thought he came across as a cock there. It sounded like he was saying I’m alright, screw you. If that was the case he should have bowed out before this race. And if he wasn’t so fatheaded he might have recalled that he was on 1899 points, and could have made it 1900…

I too don’t care so much for Kubica coming back. He showed some promise back in the day (as have many), but he’s had a few set backs since then.

A quality driver would have been a better bet. Is there a cash incentive to hiring him?

and it’s curious that you would restrict sales to presumably only the biggest, loudest, most dangerous fireworks available.

Disney get through tons of fireworks, really big ones, but they buy ‘low noise’ versions.

In this country the bang is the point, not the visuals. Bonkers

In a thread about inner city drug addicts, it would be really weird for someone to moan that nobody seems to care about misuse of fireworks.

I was expecting the coffin of Brexit to be dragged out again.

And let’s not forget, before the ubiquity of straws, many under 5’s died of dehydration

No, they died from communicable diseases from sharing drinking implements.

People with limited mobility consider the ban on straws to be a huge kick in the teeth, but, hey, at least you can be smug about it; you’re alright.

cherry tomatoes in little plastic boxes, sausages in plastic, chickens in plastic, cans held together in plastic loops. How come they get to continue using that

Because a little bit of plastic allows food to be made and transported safely, cutting down food waste. 3g of plastic can hold 3kg of potatoes through distribution. How else do you do it? Do you show up at the greengrocers with a basket like it’s the 1940’s? I bet 10p you don’t

yes I know the Ruskies used pencils but where is the fun in that?

Myth. Why would you want (conductive) graphite floating around your spaceship?

I too listened to a speech by Richard Noble when I worked at Castrol. He was impassioned by the history and proud of engineering in GB. As he put it, if we stop making things we’ll just be ‘a country that does each others washing.’

    I know what he means.
