When’s the last time you heard a funky diabetic

    Gutted

after all these years I never made the link until now. Sad news.

wafcol here, although at 6 he occasionally gets gurgly guts and has been prone to colitis before. I’d change if there was a better alternative just to try it.

My Big Jon came with Acera 396s they’re the best brakes I’ve used for a long time. Imagine Juicy 3s made by Shimano and you won’t go far wrong.

+1 – I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the whole bike spec. The saddle was a bit :0 to start with, but I’m getting used to it.

Many years ago my mate was busted by his now ex fiancé when she found some fairly specialist grumble on DVD which he had stashed away after “a friend” lent him it. Now my mate was a bit of a stickler for neatness, so this DVD was utterly unblemished when she found it. This chick was only 2 clicks off full psychopath and went ballistic when she found it, announcing she was going to destroy the DVD and confront the filthmonger who lent it out. needless to say the matter was never raised again.

however, my mate found the self-same DVD about 2 years later in her wardrobe with all the hallmarks of a life well lived. I don’t think he ever did reveal he’d uncovered the epic double-standards at play.

do it. i run a DHR2 following advice on here and its great, so much grip and cornering confidence. The only think i dont like is the R, it upsets my chi.

Second the Topeak d2 – used on my shock (130psi), forks, road bike and fat bike (8psi) as well as both cars. slightly fiddly on prestas to get seated and loves turning itself off after 5s, but a great bit of kit overall.

Any system partitions on the HDD? I had this issue where the HDD had a system partition left over and the machine kept trying to boot from it.

Simple option might be to plug in HDD after SSD has booted and mount the disk to examine the partitions etc from windows?

    Cheers

i got this too. another annoying this i found was it overwrote my desire to stop windows automatically downloading and installing device drivers. They better not keep doing this, very annoying!

steinel here, super bright and quite a compact unit. i bought mine from amazon.de, but with the exchange rate and shipping it only worked out a few quid cheaper than uk prices. i went for the brighter one (the LED 3) with no PIR and paid about £95

Thanks for all the inputs, i think i’ve settled on a BJ. Oh, wait…

Thanks all for the inputs, as always STW never lets you down.

Monkeyboy – thats a bit dramatic! Would definitely dent your confidence if that happened. Can you offer advice on the felt sizing?Large is a 21″ frame, but the geo looks quite similar to the scott, iirc it may even have a lower standover height that the scott.

also one of the things i really like about the felt is the paintjob, although i was very taken with the scott when i saw it. Entirely the wrong criteria to decide on a bike i know 🙂

thanks – what size did you go for? i’m 6’1 so thinking large for both

I’d expect an original disk in an “ancient” laptop to be on the verge of suddenly experiencing catastrophic failure and tragically losing all its data.
I can hear it clicking from here.

DBAN is the traditional tool for making sure the contents aren’t coming back, once you have a copy of course.

    brassneck and cougar nailed it.

Onza porcupines. I always wanted one and never got it. Always mind the pic in Mbuk or such when someone had skidded a white porcupine and “left” a white skidmark

When you look back bike tech has come a long way.

Hi, yeah i noted it was only 50% refund which is making me wonder if its worth just keeping it and waiting until next year and see what happens. I think on balance i’ll hang onto it and wait to see what happens, at worst i can ask for a refund at the end of june next year and not be in a worse position than now.

slordy you’d not want photo ID if you looked like me 🙂

I’ve run a DHR2 on front and rear since april and i’ve been really impressed with them. grip is tremendous compared to my previous front tyre (a nobby nic, so hardly a benchmark)

Thanks NBITF, appreciate that. i’m in two minds to try for a refund or not – i know we should have been more organised and applied for more than one ticket, but i genuinely didn’t expect the tickets to sell out in 15 seconds…

I’ll bring the beer if you bring the fridge 🙂

Anyone from the Central belt of Scotland going? All of the squad i was planning to go with didn’t get a ticket 🙁 dont really fancy a billy no mates weekend…

lastpass here too. Never got the two factor working perfectly, but otherwise it integrates with iOS pretty well. the main benefit for me is passwords are all unique, so expendable. No more worries about a compromised password being used on lots of sites and having to change it (or remember where you used it)

right, so your pic there mimics the advice i’ve seen. Here’s my plan so far:

so, i’ve got to lay timber bearers one way, floor joists the other, then floor boards the other way again. So, the way mr overshoots pic is, the bearers are in brown and the joists in blue, which i think would be ok. the lines are obviously not to scale though 🙂

On a related note I’m thinking the bearers in brown will be 75*75 or 100*100 tanalised posts resting on concrete blocks(400mm*215*100), with probably 75*50 or 100*50 joists in blue. I was thinking 600mm centres for the block spacing would be ok, given i’m not parking a JCB in the shed. Anyone have any wise words on this?

    scotlandthedave

Sorry yes, floor joists. So the online advice i’ve seen suggests the joists should run from shaped end to shaped end, so the floorboards would run perpendicular to this. I’m just not sure if there is a good reason for this.

I know this thread is useless without a diagram, so i’ll spin something up tonight.

Yeah can’t beat dirty riders total, been at it 4 years and racked up probably 1300. Easy money for a few minutes of effort each time.

Endura mtr are good, comfortable, stretchy but not too baggy. Keep water out at the back reasonably well too

The 38mm rim depth make the 650b light bicycles look like 26″ rims. It’s a bizarre optical illusion, a side effect of making the trails come alive.

yeah I’d echo the sentiments above, the varied plot lines are a bit pedestrian this series. The whole Arya plotline is frankly boring – i was sick of it last week.

I specifically agree with point 6 that llama made 🙂 but I was wondering where the Gendry kid has gone? as the potential heir to the throne i thought he would feature more heavily than he has.

i think the whole high sparrow thing could either be really good or total garbage too.

this is a super long shot, but the Chrome issue could be because Chrome has stopped supporting NPAPI as of mid April. Had a work issue that was solved by doing the following workaround.

a weird one last night. Cycling through a twenty area towards a roundabout, about 20 metres of 30 zone to the line. I get literally 5m from the line and stop waiting for the car in front to move off when a young woman in a fiesta ST overtakes and pulls right in front of me, stopping before the line but at an angle. I was basically about 6 inches from her central door pillars.

With the other thread still ringing in my ears i chapped her passenger window (she was so close i didn’t have to stretch) and her response made me think she hadn’t seen me at all. she stared at me blankly for a moment, then put the window down. I suggested that i was in a line of queuing traffic and wondered why the hell she had cut me up. Her response? “well, i was going to let you go first, so off you go then” picture the scenario of a car sitting at near 45 degree angle inches away from my bars and she thought i’d take right of way against that?

I was utterly speechless. I insisted that she went first to get her the hell out of my way and left shaking my head.
