Yup exactly… I have raid 1 but also have an offsite copy updated every two weeks for photos and music..

Either synology or qnap… Both v good. Both Mac compatible. Raid 1 isn’t a real backup. All data you care about you need to have backed up somewhere else really..

    Sir you are a fool.

The moment he taunted you that he’ll be back should have been the moment you restrained him and called the fuzz.

Now you’ve let him get away and he’ll probably keep his promise.

    Nice one.

seriously? He did say that there were two approx 18yr olds..you would have restrained the both of them would you? As footflaps says he did the right thing.

strange to call the OP a fool tbh..

terrible… I hope that Simon was ok afterwards?

How can he be allowed on the roads?

Reminds me of the post last week with the lorry driver who’d knocked down & killed 2 people in London, very sad story..

there was one year cannondale had a ‘legalize my bike’ campaign going on, and riders literally had kitchen weights taped to their frames..

Got one late last year. Seems all good, and does what we need it to do. Drives very nicely. We were coming from a ’97 car tho so it’s maybe all relative! Nice solid car tho and handles well. Stop start is good.

I see that it has now made its way to the front page – but why is the gallery (prob the most important thing on your site for someone quickly browsing for a photographer) still not on the top selections? It should be at the top and one of the first things people see how to get to without scrolling..

sorry cougar, i didnt see that post (i did search but i was lacking sleep last night – new born baby – so may have missed it!).

Samsung is up to date, and it seems on the forums to be a know problem..

I should have said that i dont want Sony as they cannot normally play mkv files..

Synology here, very happy with it – it does all that you ask for and more. As others have said an offsite backup is always best for a company..

I have the DS210j and i bought it with the discs installed.. try to do it this way if i were you – then really all you do is plug and play..

otherwise you need to check with the list on synology to check that the discs are compatible…(i just couldnt be arsed doing that) true – a very easy job..

i got 2 ‘eco’ WD 2TB discs for my 210j and it works fine. Watching films from it, accessing data 4 at a time is good also..not so slow for me.

in the dsm you can also set the fanspeed for quiet, cool or sth else but i forget what is is..

donks, thanks for the offer..but i think it’ll be ok. i’ve done the plans for each level..its just to decide do we put in data points or not (in switzerland they are quite costly) and if so (prob yes) how many!

It also throws up another question…as the floors are armoured concrete the wifi router wont go everywhere..so where to put the router and the nas… and do we use homeplugs..

    all sorts of questions!

well we are planning the lounge to not have the tv in… so that might be a break from the norm.

we will be making the basement a ‘room’, and may put in a cat5 plug for there but im undecided – the whole thing of not being able to change them easily at a later date is playing on my mind..

    scotia

all very good points, thanks all!

gives us lots of food for thought..

    scotia

ok thanks already for those replies!

of course if we have ‘x’ sockets we will need x+y in the end, but its just the starting the thing thats tricky..

good point re: the upgrading of the cat5.. i’m not sure if i even want them really but we’re just tryingto avoid the current set-up of having cat5 cables trailing round the lounge from the router etc..

    i’ll get printing..!

John, seriously take heed of the advice here..

The main recurring theme is to learn the trade. From the photos on your site there is no way I would take the chance on our wedding with you – those examples dont inspire confidence!

Good on you etc for trying, but what do you know about photography? I am a rank amateur and from your examples i’d prefer to take the photos myself..

This may not be what you want to hear, but the truth hurts sometimes.

Also with the legal side of things – have you cover?

right, although i managed to get the inner extraction head out, im no closer to the seal. It is inside a molded plastic part, finished off with the metal prongs that pierce the capsule to inject the water.

sorry but thats as far as im getting with this one, i think either you send it to be repaired or get another one…

    unless the descaling worked?

    ok, spindle out!

i’ll be back, got a meeting.. maybe this pm..

    scotia

not managed to get the spindle out yet.. not sure if ours is stuck or if there is a part blocking it. i’ll see if i can speak to the guy who was involved in the design.

there is one part that is a bit tricky, there is a screw in the spindle (in the centre) that takes up the slack in the system..it needs to be set correctly when retightened..

might be best to send it to nesp in the end – or if its cheaper replace it?

Sorry to have not found a solution..

    scotia

or you could rebuild the machine and send it to nesp?

    scotia
    Free Member

ok, that is the valve which lets you re-amorse the pump when its empty.. so in other words when the pump is empty, and you refill the tank then you put the lever all the way back (you’ll feel the spring give) it opens up the tube to get the water back in the pump quicker..

    So, for your machine..

I would try to put the whole ‘head’ in anti scale stuff, with the lever attached and forced back to open this hole.. Be careful with the alu lever as the anit scale might attack this too..

if this doesnt un block sth, then the o-ring behind this little spring u see i think is gone. To replace it, you need to slide out the spindle and then slide the mechanism out…if i manage to do the same here i can tell you what type it is.

i’ll keep u updated when i have the time!

    hello!
I’ll have to have a look at work tomorrow as i’ve not had one apart for a while (it being an old machine..).

When you say its deffo coming from this valve, have you run the machine whilst open? Be careful if you do, water & electricity dont mix well..!

    i’ll be in touch.

i cant seem to understand this icloud stuff…my wife & i have an iphone4. macbook in the flat and we share itunes account and icloud (currently). The idea being we have the same contacts and same calendar.

in the beginning that worked, but now i add a contact and only i see it. she adds one and we both do… calendar is ok, both add stuff, both see it..

    any ideas?

was a bit disappointed about 6 but it has more than made up for it (although does take a different step than all the other seasons..).
