with shoes – i have to use flats on my bikes due to my knees.. so i have yet to find overshows that work with these..

any ideas?! i can dry my shoes at work so i guess its not a big problem..

ok thanks.. yes sorry if its an often talked about subject..

its 20km each way the full commute, pretty flat on the way with big descents into Lausanne. Easy but in summer i take it fast so i shower at work and leave certain things in the office to reduce the weight every week..

    i have full mudguards.

my plan was to stick to the same idea – get up and go, shower at work..

but if i do the 2-3km to the station i’ll shower beforehand and then get dressed for work – the main question was this – if i do this and then do the 2-3kms and its pouring i get soaked!

    right, thanks.

i was kind of hoping for recommendations – like overtrousers/jacket on top of normal clothes, pack in the pannier and im off..

i thought with the wealth of experience on here i might get some tips on what people do and what work and especially what doesnt..

but i like the sarcasm thats great. useful too.

We don’t do presents for exactly this reason! I don’t need things..and if I do I tend to buy them already like ^^^

Do tend to get the young one a thing or two but try to keep it in the same way – useful stuff..he loves it (for now anyhow)

as i said maybe not in the uuk.. but europe its been front page bbc..

anyway as usual stw rips apart any meaning to the post for some stupid pedantic arseholes.

i thought it might be a subject that likemonded people might be a little bit appalled by with regards to how things like this (and of course much worse i know) happen..

convert – are you just trying to be an arse?

wow didnt realise you lot dont read the news..

sorry for not keeping to stw’s standards i was just a bit shocked..

here in mainland europe its been big news, maybe less so with the un-united kingdom?

guess i knew the poor chap? jamie ffs..

will know for next time… btw it is front page on the bbc..

sorry i dont follow, you say that you see the play?

if you have the bike on the ground, and lock the front brake do you feel any play?

if so, undo the stem bolts and then tighten the star fangled nut to see if that fixes it..

    I suffer from these.

i tend to get them on weekends or the end of the afternoon so it impacts less work…but have had to take many days sick.

i am lucky in that my emplyer is sympathetic to the condition. I have tried endless different methods and approches. i find currently that accupuncture is the most effective.

Bud i am followed by a neurologue but dont know what this means with regards to the employer legally.

Some good things said above, but also migraines are very personal and whilst i have several triggers that i obvously avoid, i do get migraines randomly without warning and thos freak me out totally as how do i as a normal human being even consider ‘preventing’ this?

    diet
    eyes
    teeth
    accu
    hypnosis
    chinese medecine in general
doctor (useless really in comaprison to the others)
    sleep
    stress

    etc etc

i dont want to have to get old for them to pass!

If you have trouble understanding people who speak phonetic languages have a thought for how they feel when they hear a non phonetic language such a English and hear things like:

    W?d?y?w?n?d?

    Comb, tomb, bomb, womb.

mais mec tu as mis un s à bonjour?!

so the only thing you have changed is the cassette and the new cable?

i would go with you havent enough tension in the cable then?

shift to the smallest rear cog, undo the cable clamp and pull the cable as tight as possible. Undo any of the tensioning screw that you have before tightening so that you pull thru the most cable.

then try and re-index if needed.

    the frame is this: frame

and the mech looks exactly like this: mech

which both seem to be DM… now is it right to just fix the mech straight to the frame or do i indeed need to remove the top link?!

    scotia

Ok this is something else that has changed since 2008!
It’s a cube frame and I’ve just checked on the site & it says that the f & r use direct mount… the rear mech is a ‘standard’ xt shadow+…I’ll try to get a pic.

What does DM mean? I just read I may need to remove the top link from the mech for it to work? Is that a possible?

well ive just checked the order and i did order a 11spd mech… how would i tell if it is 10spd?!

    scotia
    Free Member

its a GS – normally can accept up to 42..

chain length is good – any longer and i have no tension in 1 & 11

the mech is 11 spd, shifters also.

    the b limit screw?

the h and l are good and the mech does go if i force it by hand.

the limit screw i mentioned isant actually the limit screw but the screw that alters the angle of the mech – any further out and it fouls with the cassette 3 before the top..(this is the b limit isnt it?)

    F*** YES.
