thanks, yup 2nd opinion is being searched. At the moment no surgery has been agreed to yet, first have to have some physio then mri & x-rays…

I have moved out to switzerland and recently got married (wife is Swiss). I have an insurance, but this specialist only operates on private or semi-private insurance. I currently have the basic one, so im looking at my options..

at 28, ive got knees that are shot..

well we'll have to see re: insurance, but i think likely yes!

thing is, if ive done sth to the knee, this op wont fix that..but would make sure that my knees dont need to work at about 200%..

Thanks, will try to get a second opinion from another specialist..tricky thing is finding one rated as good as this guy..

Well she is more calm than i am, said we'll do what we must do to get me fixed. Means our honeymoon might be on hold for a bit..

well having just seen a kid get stabbed here in Lausanne (4 days later he was dead) for looking at someone 'wrongly' i feel that this sort of banter isnt good.

Therefore maybe think as some people obviously take it worse than others. Kids these days just need one little trigger and their using knives on each other..

    For Trailmonkey & Grumm…

Please stop posting your thoughts, however subtle or blatant, about Scots and English. You seem to have a rather warped point of view – much like any football fan i might add be it English or Scottish – and it doesnt help.

The UK needs to educate people to not think like this, not the other way round..

not you SC – i do get irony.

    Trailmonkey & Grumm:

Please grow up, its getting pathetic. This behaviour is what the UK should be trying to get rid of rather than nurture.

There are great examples of little minded Scots (not Scotch, please thats just worse than pretending not to know its not the correct term) hoping that the English lose and of little minded English hoping that the Scots lose.
However, it doesnt do anything other than prove their rather low intelligence and rather high infantile behaviour.

aracer. He is Scottish, but also British. If you grow up a little bit then you might be able to appreciate that its better for our sportsmen/women to be supported rather than accused of 'failing' (another typical STW funny).

    No?

(and yes im scottish, but i support all athletes Scottish, English, Welsh or Irish for that matter)

Nice to see all the typical english/scottish rivalry going on in STW…

    well done grumm

When will the brits learn to take defeat and victory as part and parcel of life as a sportsman/woman and continue to give support whatever the result?

Kingtut, uhm thanks your lovely remark. No i dont think so, even I should be able to do it. The point was that it seems a shame to 'have' to do this just so it doesnt seize..

aP – there is no alu insert…or there wasnt on the 1st frame..its been sent back due to teething probs…we'll see when i get the next one!

i think the local bike shop should have some..it'll be ok thanks..where are yous going? lemme know!

handluggage checks – last two times i flew, every 2nd person was searched..

why the hassle of the zip ties?

    end of?

    scotia

Why on earth zip-ties? The security will just cut them, or ask you to cut them off when they scan it and want to look inside…

will you lose your house-keys? if not, then get a padlock and put the key with your housekeys?

No, if the laces are even undone, it hurts so for me its the leather which doesnt ‘give’ when my foot move.

    scotia
    Free Member

The leather at the front of the shoe is super stiff, and this will not change even if i wear them a hundred times. I have spent the last 3 months wearing them solidly, and also pumelling the whatsits out of the top – its still like plate steel..
when i walk, this hard leather digs right into my foot..hence the uncomfortable feeling..

    scotia

druidh. Thanks but i dont want to be uncomfortable, i want to enjoy the day.

The others wearing kilts..we’ll only be a few as i live in Switzerland, only my family (relatively small) will be in kilts.

    But thanks for the comments.
