The road bike nowadays is, as described above, quite complex with all sorts of standards etc. There isnt really a rule of thumb which equates an mtb to a road bike..

I responded a bit sharply as your ‘darkside’ is very childish…if you think of it as something to be ashamed of, what are you going to do if you actually go into a shop and buy one, ride it only at night with a balaclava so that no-one knows its you?

i’d take it to your friendly LBS. They will look at it and tell you if you can save it as TJ says with a helicoil, or not. It may be possible to just run a tap through it, but depends on how bad a state its in..

THere is a resonable price difference about £40! I don’t think it’s worth paying the much for 3G.

really? ok, each to their own. I took it as 3G worldwide for the life of the kindle…pretty darn good..

worth it for me who travels alot and doesnt, as it seems all of the uk has, often come across these free wifi spots..

i got the 3g and wifi one. the cost wasnt very different tbh. Why the fuss anyway? get it and if you use it good, if not oh well?

**edit I too would bypass the ‘mainstream brands personally..when i did research to buy mine Synology and Qnap were the two who stand out from the rest.

Synology 2 disc version, very happy with it.

Does all i need and more (and would do what you want).

Qnap also very good. Both have excellent support and forums for getting going.

With the photostation it enables my parents and family & friends to see our photos online, and they can upload theirs to us too.

my itunes library is on ours and our radio takes the music from there..all just works.

give it time, 9 weeks is nothing – smoking is a horrid habit and you dont seem to realise what you have done to your body, it will need time.

47hrs +…and the amount raised is amazing..

Ardon in Switzerland, between Sion and Martigny, always raised a smile. My boss would say “Shall we pull off at Ardon” as we drove past.
