Fizik Anatares R1 open wide fit I find is a good road saddle, but not so comfy on the turbo for some reason, not the cheapest but a good saddle

update – steerer tube bearing seat is a bonded alloy collar. It had a small shoulder on it that the race was not sliding over. A very cautious file down of the lip with small fine file, plus the freezing of the fork and heating of the race managed to persuade it to fit.  I dont think it will come off in a hurry

Good luck to them but I dont see the point for most hills taking a bike up, its hard enough walking up

I had a 2004 legacy GT wagon when I was in the states with the 250bhp 2.5lturbo petrol engine in it.  Brilliant car loved it.  Engine was awesome power and torque.  Decent handling but not at sports car level esp brakes could get hot.  Superb in the snow with mechanical viscous diffs. Was thirsty around town.  Had to be very careful with clutch to ensure it was fully engaged when booting it. Mate had the UK spec 2.0 litre non turbo at same time and it wasnt the same car at all.

Definitely report it.  I have done it a few times with responses from no response to full investigation and report back with full apologies etc.  If nothing else it may make a difference to some other unfortunate and modify the gus behaviour, we would hope

Another vote for Pearl Izumi – Elite Escape AMfib.  They are padded and not cheap, maybe unpadded available dont know, but they are absolutely the badgers nadgers for winter riding on or off road.  Soft shell front and back side with very breathable back of legs.  I have had a pair for number of years and dont have to wear anything below or on tope.  Not a sign of tear, wear or rip aywhere despite abuse.  Only issue I have is the thread holding pad on is coming undone.  I have had for long time and looking to get another pair for xmas

Hi molgrips I’m usually a 47 but thought I would get away with a 46.  It’s just too snug across the foot.  The difference is the mw7 is goretex the mw5 is dryshield .  Looking at the soles the mw5 looks a more general purpose shoe.  But that’s just my opinion.

Darn it pair from classified slightly too small .  If anyone looking for a pair I have a set of EU 46 for sale now.  Unused .

ITs not a flapjack but I spread peanut butter thick onto single slices of whole meal bread squish a little and put into titchy food bags – can wolf down on the move and feels like real food.  Also soreen fruit loaf with peanut butter and jam squished.  Sounds awful but on long ride can be eaten easily and really top up the tank.

Had a quick look and the big Betty 1.3 kg for the 2.4 super gravity is a hefty tyre versus the DHRII

Brilliant response thanks all.  Im a big fan of Maxis so I will check out the DHRII, its not a tyre I have used but have used minions, HR, ardents and cross maxs over the years on various bikes and have a lot of time for them

ps when I first had bike they didnt do this, and it was all checed out by LBS re spoke tension etc, did use wd on nipples and seats which helped a little but didnt cure

    scotabroad

I had this happen recently on a rear on a road bike with straight pull, flat spokes, all checked out ok, with LBS came to conclusion it was maybe due to light corrosion in/ under nipples causing stiction and when it release caused spokes to ping.  Was only on steepest of climbs/ standing on pedals etc.  I have since sold bike so no long term report

ps dont be tempted to rip it out and not fit a liner.  A friend did that and the amount of soot and tar that built up in the chimney due to reduced draft vs open fire meant the tar seeped through the mortar and stained his internal walls and was difficult to get rid of not to mention the serious chimney fire risk

IT might be ok, but potential risk and cosequence if not is high so as said before bin it.  The other thing to consider is the flue needs to be the right size for the burner you are putting in for it to draw correctly and match the burner so it works efficiently.  Have fun

Def not signing for two main reasons: its for the schools to determine best system within exisiting guidlines.  Secondly – no one knows what would be the knock on health impact of getting young kids to wear a mask for 8hrs a day would be.  Not only skin issues but lung and respiratory tract impact – wearing a damp cloth on your face whilst oxygenating it then sticking in a drawer overnight to stick bag on your face and repeat ad nausem without control for this length of time all week will not be without significant consequence.

im from Dundee originally and still have family there so regulary visit.  Lots of affordable housing options, and very quick access to the country, biking, hill walking, climbing, skiing, good sailing scene.  Traffic not too bad either.  big university scene in west end, plenty commuter options if you wish. Changed huge amount for the better in last 20 years.  I would recommend it for a dream job opportunity without hesitation.  There are large areas in the city you dont want to live, but thats the case anywhere in the UK.

Second that comment re crate for indian paving, a neighbour was throwing it out and I thought to cut it up for burning.  Man is it hard and dense – very difficult to cut with jig saw.  It was too scrappy to use for anything else but agree it seemed a shame to cut up.

I know two couples where one of the (less fit) partnersis now capable of joining the other for long rides becuase they have an e-bike to keep up, and subsequently they all benefit from doing more riding.  One mate had a heart attak but can still go riding with groups because of e-bike.  Another mate bought one just for fun, effectively a modern electric motorbike for the trails.  They are not for me but there are lots of people getting out there who would otherwise not so overall a good thing.

To add wondered if you can get vicegrips locked onto the bust pulley and wedge against something to stop it turning?
