I’ve never had a bike with forks before

    Wheelie much?

Anyway I’d say go for it, your reasoning sounds very reasonable.

OK I just googled and got this

“If you encounter a Liger the best way to survive the encounter is to bark like a dog, Ligers seem to detest the noise and more often than not they retreat.”

Nevermind the bear a man with tourrettes could beat it :D

    What about liger vs bear?

Have any of you guys got any experience with Altura Attack shorts? I normally wear an XL but can get an XXL at a really good price. I might be interested Neil…

As said depends on the frame, but I think 1psi per kg is a good starting point, then work out what suits you.

The Saar G7 version seems to depend on normal headset bearings which are fixed in angled positions. I think these would be very dependent on being within the specified headtube lengths.

    Agreed

    Define within specified headtube length?

each set of cups will infact still fit a fair few slightly different head tube lengths and work fine albeit with slight angle change from the design

The angle will not change this is defined by the cups.

You may have a possible few mm tolerance before you’ll start scoring your steerer tube and crushing the bearings, any more the steerer tube will not fit….GW originally what you were saying is you can take one angleset designed for X length headtube and this will fit Y length heatube fine, but will just alter the angle, this is not the case and that was my argument.

Edit: The first question is not aimed at Epicyclo, I agree completely.

You are definitely wrong but I’d still like to hear your reasoning.

Despite being made specifically for an exact headtube length and angle each set of cups will infact still fit a fair few slightly different head tube lengths and work fine albeit with slight angle change from the design.

Maybe it just my brain not functioning correctly but I don’t think that’s true, the angles lining up is based on the length of the headtube. Alter the length of the tubes and the cups will no longer line up, meaning the fork steerer won’t even fit through both ends of the headtube. You’re right with frames sharing the same lengths but I wouldn’t be confident about running off a big batch and selling them. :D

Nope just pointing out they are custom based on the length of the headtube, so running off a small batch isn’t really feasable. It is quite expensive but not really much more than something like King or Acros.

I think the best thing about him is the way he embraces his hosts culture, and lives exactly as they do, I guess partially for the experience and also not to offend. But apparently he’s best mates with that warbling Blunt bloke.

    schrickvr6

but why so expensive when he’s clearly made shit loads of them?

Because they are custom made based on the length of the headtube and the angle required.

Yeah I do the canal ride all the time which takes you to the bottom of Cwmcarn or you can get a train from Newort to Crosskeys.

I’ve had my old TV connected up to my PC via DVI for years, but I have to say that DLNA is rather nifty.

Hairy mobo failures happen with all manufacturers, but I’d still say Lenovo are one of the most solidly built.

Anyway on topic dixons have got an Acer core i3 for £380.

Oh my! That is seriously tempting, tapered headtube is the only thing putting me off as my totems are 1.5″…..hmmmmm

Sold out at the moment but I use these on my bikes, nothing to go wrong, pretty cheap and excellent service.

The real answer – whatever suits you.

The STW answer – on a 140mm travel bike you must fit a 50mm thomson, it’s the law.

I got a mega bargain on a Sony Bravia yesterday, it’s not quite so good now as the VAT back offer finished yesterday.

    http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/shop/technology/sonyvatback/119719725_sony_kdl32ex403u_32_full_hd_1080p_lcd_tv.html

Probably the same everywhere but Currys do a pricematch +10% off as long as the price is from a store in a 12 mile radius, so can be had for just under £300. An excellent tv for the money, 1080 DLNA, 4X HDMI, USB.The price I’ll end up paying less the VAT is silly :D

Some modern cars dont allow you to do left foot braking because of over sensitive ABS and cutting the power as soon as the brake pedal is applied.

Sort of, cars with a fly-by-wire throttle will cut the throttle if the brake pedal is pressed. ABS has nothing to do with it.

Another classic case of bike shops selling too big a bike? I’m sure it will be fine but really I’d have thought a 15-16″ would be much more suitable. It’s like they think fully grown people are suddenly going to have a mid life growth spurt. Or every bike shop is involved in a conspiracy to sell the wrong size bikes, thus increasing sales of bikes when people realize they’re too big…
