I’ve got a FUNN Rippa stem for sale that has a 32mm stack height, not the lightest thing ever but it’s a nice bit of kit. Another option is the DMR Swarm stem which has a 30mm stack height and looks pretty sweet.

If you’re really set on FS try and find a well priced Giant Trance or Reign, IMO.

I’d say if budget is £500 for a full bike get a hardtail.

Well you could sling it back on and then replace the lot when it’s unusable, or try replacing the cassette and see if you can get away with out changing chainrings. Does it slip worst when in the small sprockets at the back? Obviously depends on usage but less teeth means they wear faster.

The chain and cassette/rings wear together, if your chain was completely knackered then the rest will be too. Have you still got the old chain?

Sounds like your cassette is worn, potentially and/or chainrings but probably cassette.

Wow I saw the thread title and thought I wonder if Newport gets a mention, looks like it’s championship contender mmaterial. It is a dump but it’s not really a bad place to live, there are more pubs per square mile than anywhere else in the UK and it’s also home of the shell-suit, but there’s shed loads of good riding nearby.

Air side uses oil too, the float fluid is for the foam rings. I use fully synth engine oil and is even cheaper again.

That would be solid state and it does sound like it’s died, best bet is to run a diagnostic of some sort to confitm. If the capacity of the drive is very small it is probably mini pci-e and there won’t be room to fit a regular 2.5″ hard drive.

There’s not a huge amount there but it’s close to me, the kids keep building and the council keep flattening, it’s a continual cycle, it used to be a decent little BMX track I don’t know why they had to mess it up.
There’s a few tidy sneaky trails up Allt-yr-yn a bit overgrown in places though.

I’ve just been up the park on the jumps and it feels awesome, I started to wonder if the short would be too short being 6’4″ but it feels just right. With the seat right up it’s actually very rideable in a sit down fashion, originally I was going to go for some U-turn forks so I could wind them out and use it like a trail bike or down for 4x/jump, but I made the mistake of listening to people on here. I’ve got some Rev uppers, Argyle lowers and pushed pike internals so may well give that a try…
