LX cranks are a steal, the Straitline pedals look good until you see the cost of the pins, although I'm sure you could use others.

I bagged an X.9 shifter and Flite saddle.

I just find it best to get a rolling frame built up first, putting the wheels on first avoids any mech hangers or knobbly bits on the bottom of forks gouging wooden floors or getting damaged themselves. I expect everyones got their own little tricks I just find this easiest and quickest for me with no workstand.

Fit the stem/bars, headset tensioned, bars straight first time, chuck a seat and post in and you can just flip the bike over depending on what your working on.

And when I say put the wheels on that's with tyres and rotors already fitted.

    If you havn't got a workstand I'd say…

    1) fit headset cups
    2) fit back wheel to frame, front wheel to forks
    3) fit forks
    4) fit everthing else in whatever order takes your fancy

I've gone for an 07 Pyre (5.5" travel). I was after a Blur 4x but got a deal on the Pyre I'd be daft to turn down, brand new Pyre 07 frame and 09 RP23 for £500 inc delivery.

More important these days is a good antispyware prog as well as an antivirus.

I’d say AVG/Avira/Avast, Spybot and Superantispyware along with windows firewall should be enough behind a hardware firewall, and obviously not using IE. Onecare Safety Scanner is worth using every month or two as well…

If your using public wireless or a usb modem I’d recommend Filseclab firewall.

I actually sold my Scirocco last week as it’s a bit uncomfortable, I’m probably going to replace it with another Banshee as everything about the frame was spot on apart from the industrial grade rear stays.

In fact Rickos I think my old Scirocco is your old Scirocco….that was my first of many STW purchases.

Yeah I can’t find them now, but you can get the bombers and unabomber gloves in XXXXL, £30 normally.

Damn there was a seller on the bay who had fox bombers in XXX and XXXXL for £7, but looks like they’re all gone now.

It was an awesome race last year, right up there with Phillip Island 04 for me.

Moody and ryder are gibbering muppets, but they’re the kind of gibbering muppets I like listening to. I’ve always put up with the ads to avoid the boring dross on the BBC.

I365 are good, they will quote before going ahead as well.

If you try the freezer trick make sure you seal it in a bag and suck the air out lol.

Is the drive recognized in the bios?

It may be worth taking the drive out of the enclosure and plug it in directly to an ide or sata cable.

As said depends it how much you value the data, the more you mess about with it yourself the worse the drive will get.

I’ve noticed loads of warranty replacement frames for sale lately, which to me says they seem to be hounoring the warranty but the frames are fragile….

From my experience all their sizes come up small.

I tried the large VPD knee pads but unfortunately they were way too small, as were the Receptor flow pisspot and gloves. All looked excellent just a shame none fitted and no stock of larger receptors in the country.

The bone pads are awesome but my mate got in there and got some first and I don’t want to get around looking like team stormtrooper. The way the knee bit just floats around is weird at first but so comfy.

C’mon POC not everyone who rides bike is jockeyesque.

I’ve not used them personally but I wouldn’t touch them with a bargepole. For £100 you would pick up some tidy 2nd hand brakes, or spend a little more and get something like the Formula K18 from Merlin for £150.

Give Paisley freight a try, I’ve used them quite a few times before and spot on everytime. IIRC it cost £25 to send four 10kg car alloy wheels so should be a fair bit less than that.

I noticed Fox have gone back to open bath damping on the 2010 36 Van R, but not on the RC2, probably other models as well but I didn’t check.

    My ideal would be –

    66.5-67 HA
    69-70 SA
    13.3 BB
    22.8 TT
    16.8 CS
    43.5 WB
    17″ ST

The seat tube may need to be a bit steeper to counter the short stays,I’m 6.2″ btw if that makes any difference…

On a side note I don’t suppose either of the two Blur 4x owners on this thread would be interested in selling me your frame?

The bike outlet are the cheapest I have found, but probably worth the extra to get them from Roger at Wheelpro and have him fettle them to perfection, otherwise he will price match without giving the wheels some extra loving.

Definitely save the extra for pro 2s, they are far better quality.

    Hey, they are 180mm Domains….

I’m thinking about putting some 36 vans or floats on but don’t want it to be too steep, I’m going to get an RP2 to have a play around with that is slightly shorter with a shorter stroke. A 200×57 would sit about 1/2″ lower and give about 6.5″ of travel, or a 190×50 would sit and inch lower and give about 5.9″ of travel.

The 200×57 with 545mm forks would give you 68 degree HA

190×50 would give you the originall geo so 67.5 degrees but the BB would be an inch lower so down to 13.3″

Yes I have put some thought into this lol.
