Another vote for buying a Banshee, I love my mk1 Pyre and the frame only cost me £500 brand new shipped from Canada, but I think the Rune would be more suitable than the newest Pyre which is more XC orientated.

Belgom Alu is popular but I'm not that big of a fan, I refurbish and polish a fair few split rims and I think the best thing you can use is a good quality automotive paint sealant. I use Chemical Guys Jetseal which isn't cheap but it buys me about 2 weeks in bad weather before any water marks start appearing, and as a bonus any dirt will just hose off.

Here's some wheels that won me best of class a few years ago…

Although after saying that I'm thinking about using some of this on the wheels I'm building at the moment, although I'm a bit dubious, I bet it ends up chipping and then you might as well rip the lot off….

Lovely finish on those bits btw, what are you using for the final stage? I usually use a loose G with with blue.

A man walks into his doctors with the rim of a steering wheel poking out the top of his trousers…

Doctor sees this and says "bloody hell I can see what's wrong with you, how did that get there?"

Man replies "I don't know but it's driving me nuts!"

Wow I don't remember ever seeing anything like that before, best lock the doors and close the curtains.

Well if you're not going to bother with any diagnostics (which is pretty dumb IMO)have you got another desktop pc? If yes take the hard drive out of the HP and connect it to the other computer then run chkdsk /f /r.

The first thing I would do is to run a disk diagnostic like Seatools as the disk failing with bad sectors is a common cause of problems like yours.

BTW it's the f10 key to access the recovery partition on startup on a HP.

I bought one of these recently and it's a really handy bit of kit.

One thing that is worth doing is changing the rubber O-ring every year or so, I think they're only a quid.

They are 3.63% plusher and propedal is <—–this much—–> more effective. :D

But seriously I think the main thing is the ability to ramp up the end stroke and bottom out resistance without effecting the small bump stuff too badly.

This evening I shall mostly be eating crap…due to having no time, but last night I cooked up – lambs liver, crispy bacon, garlic/mustard mash, boiled carrots and leek with an onion gravy. *drools*

    I'm 6'2" and I've got 17", 16" and 15" frames, I don't know why but a 22.8" top tube and a 50mm stem just feels right to me.

I also remember having a 22" claud butler catalogue bike when I was a kid which I sold to a short ass mate, I think it put me off 'gates' for life.

Damn the equalizer was class, cruisin' in his Jagwaaaarr, bustin' punks heads and saving horny milfs was all in a days work.

I bought my Hope Hoops from them. I knew they weren't in stock and was told they would take around 7 days, I was a bit worried due to all the horror stories but the price was too good to turn down, wheels arrived in 5 days….

Ah the joys of having a sealed BB shell, and I saved at least 10g by not having to run the BB inner seal sleeve. :P

The tweezer tool is for removing the old bearings and a diy headset press is perfect for fitting the new, just keep one of the old bearings to use as a washer/shim so the new bearings go in far enough past the outer lip of the bb cup.

I think around £300 is about the max I can justify spending on forks, I got my 36 Van Rs from Canada for £300 new, Totems from the CRC flood sale for £240 + £28 for a maxle…But I don't like paying full price on anything.

Ebay, should be around £70-80 for a 15.4", best to get the part number off the back of the panel to be sure.

I've used a few places on the bay and have always had next day delivery, Bumblesale and Analogic spring to mind..

I filed the little tab off the cage on mine to fit a normal top jockey, the position of the wheel changes slightly but it works fine.
