Will have to take the wheel and my track pump to work, bed etc.

    I'd go with –

3-4 layers of insulation tape ideally under or over the rim tape, this should make the tyre a bitch to fit.

Make sure the ghetto rim strip isn't creased or wrinkled and keep it nice and straight.

Add more sealent than you think you need, most of what you put in at first will be lost, bounce shake and spin like a maniac on and off for as long as possible.

Next day put another 20-30ml of goop in, pump up and go ride, keep it local if you're not too confident about it lol.

My tyres are still frothing 3 days after fitting but they're holding good pressure now.

Why not? The only risk I can think of is a marginally higher risk of popping a seal.

Just add a bit more sealent then and give it a really good shake and bounce around, or better still go and ride it. Pumping up to 50psi helps seat the bead properly as well.

Had loads of problems with tyres especially panaracer tyres and 100% success with maxxis.

    Edited but +1

    Used lots of soap?

Built up the rim bed with insulation tape?

    What tyre and rim?

If all else fails ask a local tyre fitting establishment nicely if you can use their airline.

One thing to bare in mind is that higher performing race orientated fluids need changing more often.

I think if I went bigger I would go really big and just skip 36s and Lyriks. 8O

Yeah it can make a nice differnce, try some 10wt in the moco damper. I've done it on a few forks and it does make them slightly more progressive but still react well to all the small stuff.

I was looking at a Soul before but quite a few people said even 140mm is a push.

I'm around 14st and do ride pretty hard so I think the frame is the right choice. And I do like the option of being able to fit bigger forks if I feel like it. I've had 36's on my last few bikes and was thinking of building something a little lighter, but I'm getting tempted to whack some massive forks on it now.

Pretty much what I was thinking, although I don't really think the 15-20mm difference is an issue and would be no better off with Revs being Rockshox equivalent fork, ah well I've got the Talas already so may as well give them a go.

Get a Roco on it, much nicer than Fox shocks.

Hmmm someone help me see sense…

With my Banshee set up as it is, it has made my Bullit pretty much redundant. The only thing it excells at now is hucking and it's just too close to the Banshee I think to justify keeping considering how little I use it. It's the old head says yes, heart says no thing. I even advertised the Bullit but when I had a few serious buyers I chickened out and thought I'd give the bike another chance. :|

Anyway I've just bought a BFe frame to replace my jump bike I've just sold and now I'm really confuzzled, If I keep the Bullit the sensible thing to do would be to build up the BFe pretty light, I've already got some 32 Talas 150 QR15s to go on, but if I sell the Bullit would I be better off building up the BFe more burly? I can't hep thinking some Totem solo airs lowered to 150-160mm would rock on a BFe, just a shame the forks on the Bullit are 1.5".

That looks nice, the TT reminds me of a Nomad though.

Get some Rock n Roll Super Slick grease, it's designed for forks.

Capt I know what you're saying but the same colours kept popping up on most of the components, I could lose the gold I guess but otherwise not much I can do.

    Cheers guys.

Thats Billie sat in the flower pot, she's a little porker and completely mental, she's only about 18 months old and bosses all the cats we've had for years already, Timmy or "the wookie" isn't fat but he is very fleecy.

Zaskar I don't get you? But some kind of death spike would be nice.

If it was my money I'd build up a classified parts bike, probably around an On One on that sort of budget.

They are "orsum" I've got all saint on the big bike and XTR with just a saint front caliper on my Pyre (180/160).

I remember coming back from Cwmcarn along the canal probably doing 17-18mph and a dog ran out probably a metre in front of me and froze, I autograbbed 2 big handfulls of brake, did a big endo and cracked my nuts on the top tube in mid air, and stopped centimetres away. I thought the dog was going to be roadkill but the power of the Saint saved the day. :D

I've always had good service from TBO.

Winstanleys are the cheapest about for Hope hoops but I think most outlets order from Hope after the customer has placed the order, that still only takes 4-5 days…

You could always steal the lid off a bottle of slime in your local helfrauds.

NS Bikes Aerial pedals. – http://www.bikeoutlet.co.uk/products/NSBikes_Aerial_Pedals-955-0.html

Not totally bargaintastic but the best price about for some really nice pedals.

I don't think it's beyong hope though Ade, black rims make a big difference and the primer grey bits look dog rough, I'd say paint the frame green and work on the praying mantis theme.

The lowers are magnesium alloy so probably best to leave the paint on and get the high build out.

What hubs are you wanting to use?

If it's Pro 2s check out The Bike outlet for good prices, also Spa Cycles for well priced Sapim spokes. If you can build them yourself which isn't that difficult and very satisfying I'd imagine the price would be close.

Here you go, a good bit cheaper than CRC as well – http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/mavic-xm719-disc-item132449.html

Edit: Ah sorry just read the thread properly, I'd say go for a Hope Hoops factory build from Winstanleys.

I'm pretty set on them myself, partially down to me needing a particular ERD range to reuse my spokes, and they're a decent weight, pretty wide and look dead sexy in winter camo.

I've also been looking at the Flows, obvious downside is the price which could get worse if you need rimstrips as well. I think I'd rather stick with ghetto tubeless. Also poxy presta valves and the finish on them looks terrible.

My final contender is the EN719, the only downside is the width.

Buy a brand new car for £150 or something daft, ok it was a Fiat but at least make it slightly believable.

And that Don Beech ****t off The Bill…How do we get people to trust us? Yeah let's get that bloke that eveyone can only remember for playing a bent copper….That'll do it.

Don't spray gt85 everywhere,it is good at flushing out grease. I put a drop or two of chain lube on the pivots of my vpp frame and then wipe away any excess, seems to work well without attracting loads of grit and crap.

No my point is you can't make a copy of the disc, but it's quite ok to make as many backups as you like, even though it's the same thing.

Saying you will make a copy on here can actually land STW in the shat.

I think I'm quite capable of installing windows thanks mr smartass.

Yeah you will have the COA on the bottom of the laptop. it will say it is either pro or home version. Then you just need the appropriate backup, not a copy because that would be against the law.

As said if it's a high volume can switching to low volume will help as would tuning the compression shim stack, enough to make a big enough difference it's difficult to say.

DHX 3s are OK, although I definitely prefer my Roco to my DHX 5….

According to the TFTuned spring calculator you would need about an 800lb spring.
