Trouble is, there’s 2 sorts of user on classifieds – with a big grey area inbetween

Best example I can give (since it involves nobody on here) is this:
Girl at work had a baby a while ago. She doesn’t seem to have that much spare cash though she’s NOT poor. I gave her quite a lot of kid stuff that mine had just about grown out of. She saw it in advance & took what she wanted. Then at least half of that went straight to ebay. She’s not going to be offered any more. I’d rather have given it to a charity/nursery or to someone who actually wanted it, rather than make a profit from it.

sorry, just seems to me that hardly anyone will use the “split” feature often enough to make it useful. other than that, it’s just a decent hardtail IMO.

if you have variable output with a twist-handle, back it off a bit (though “power” will be down just a bit)

oh, and i’m with coffeking – shimano rotors always look to have a fairly narrow friction surface, so you may be overlapping with your pads (I’ve never used shimano of magura discs though)

how long does a Brazilian take ?

stand your bike upright, pull the brake on then tape the lever to the bars overnight – often helps quite a lot

stop rubbing it in heihei – I miss that fork, it’s almost the only “proper” big thing I’ve ever sold
(were the stickers rubbish ?)

Mine’s got a pike on it now (was cheap in the CRC sale & I like 20mm axles) & had a 130mm shiver SC before that, which is a pretty tall fork

haven’t ridden it much, except abroad last summer with the shiver on. was great, including pretty fast (for me) downhill singletrack with no chopper-like steering

(still got quite a lot of pedal strike though – wondered about shorter cranks but I’ll wait & see how it is with the pike)

Actually, now I remember, I “detected” (half an inch or so each way by the time I got to a shop!) play in the swingarm bearings of my Bullit when they wore out once – was the understeer followed by oversteer at a random point round a corner (and back again) that gave it away I think 8O

I’ve got a marzocchi shiver sc (from about 2002/3)

read the reviews – people **** on about how the wheel can be twisted in the fork (stand with wheel between knees & turn bars)

now I AM a kack rider, but I’ve never ever felt that steering was vague, or that the bike wanders under braking
