along the side of the tazmon glacier new zealand. very technical, slow going climb with an awesome view.
oxford falls DH course Sydney on fully rigid was hard work.

do a search on interbike. theres a trail centre of sorts a few miles out that interbike uses for testing purposes.

goretex socks, sealskins, shimano goretex boots. none of them work on longer rides in torrential rain or continuous surface water spray. the water will always seep in via the cuff.

if anyone knows of any socks that remain warm when wet, that would be cool to know, as aside from full length waders I dont think its possible to stay 100% dry.

you need to compress the forks/shock while in the warmth of indoors to get the oil flowing through the damping circuits. this helps prevent “stuck down” fully compressed shocks.

royal mail dont consider an item delayed unless its 14working days I believe. we’re so used to only taking a few days I guess..

thursday the mountains above cwmcarn were nearly entirely clear of snow & ice. since then we’ve had 2 dumps of snow. not massively deep, but it freezes every night & doesnt thaw much in the day. supposed -3deg is gonna feel even colder on top.

I never thought I’d miss chucking rain, mist & cloud, but its a damn sight more rideable than this snow/ice.

sorry, yeh I knew about Penhydd. thinking about it I’d wanna do at least the wall & whites level.. depending on how my poxy broken liddle toe holds up… maybe the last DH of skyline too.

easily the trek. my orange5 cracked at the seattube after 2.5yrs. remedy pedals better uphill & is more composed DH than the 5.

if you like beaches, cafe culture & shopping, no real change in seasons, pubs & road riding you’d love it. I was other there in april & lots of mtb trails are now highly illegal with rangers handing out spot fines. yes theres still illegal trails (wakehurst parkway- oxford falls, karingai etc). bike stuffs pretty expensive. for mtb its far from ideal. UK has way more choice.
sydney gets more rain than london, but it tends to be compressed into 1hr torrential downpours & dry most of the time.
okay place to visit (I still prefer new zealand), but I’d never want to live there again.

unfortunately since the original singletrack website went down a few years ago you can no longer check through the years of previous ads/comments to see how long any forum member has been active/trustworthy.

retrobike has a feedback section that works well. for the record, heres mine http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5798&highlight=scant

18months old & no problems. obviously you shouldnt over preload the bearings. that said I've jet washed the hell out of mine & as long as its regreased it wont be a problem (4days of multiple jet washes in leogang, regreased when I returned home)

cwmcarn has been "cleaned" in the bigring, also by a cyclo-x bike & a orange 223 DH bike. so yeh s.speed isnt too hard.

try mtb-wales for black mountains killer loop info. the 1st climb is tough, after that its fine with some cool DHs… better than the gap ride imho.

I spent 2months in NZ in 2000, its an amazing country.
get the kennet bros book of mtb trails which will help you find trails wherever you are.
personally I'd say milford sound, even tho its a bugga of a drive.

theres no comparison between chris king & XTR. my original XTR lasted 7months. yes they're more expensive & you need the grease tool, but my chris king is coming up 2 years old despite stream crossings & many jet washes & its still silky smooth.

ebay shop. entire lezyne only cost £25… but yeh just to chance it I'm gonna send the bladder back to lezyne direct just to complain.

I ride pretty much everyday, so it'll get a lot of use.
