I have bought carbon rims (2 sets now), a 29er carbon frame and forks and have just ordered a dirty disco too.

I have had no issues. If you are ultra picky then you may be able to say that the finish is not quite up to the identical £1k carbon frame you see hanging in the LBS but to be honest it is really marginal (and with the £700 price saving I Am sure you’ll get over it!)

excellent fun under the (mostly) sun!
Good to meet onza, crazy legs and others whos usernames I have forgotten.
shame to have had to bail so soon but I would have turned into a pumpkin at 1pm and they are hard to carry on a 29er.
    good effort everyone!

would buy the island off Scotland that was for sale a while back (£2.5M), run the sailing school and turn over buildings to the scouts and guides association for most of the year. run and ride and sail and swim as much as possible and travel doing 3 or 4 daft multi-week adventures a year.

and blow the rest on titanium bikes, blow and fast cars.

such a significant increase in people on bikes is bound to have impact on accident stats.

just as you see people who can barely drive cars behind the wheels it amazes me just how badly people ride and how such large numbers ride in a way that is almost courting incident.

proper lights, hi-viz and no bloomin earphones plugged into your lug-holes is just common sense.

I am 6’2 and prefer small frames but my 19.5 scandal was the best fitting bike I have had. However, I was not using it for a throw around beast and was set up for long distance xc / bikepacking. loved it!

if their overall attendance is excellent (notwithstanding illness) then the schools should be flexible if the leave period doesn’t impact on key elements of the year / curriculum.

Don’t school grants get based on attendance at certain parts of the year? Obviously head teachers want all bums on seats during those periods.

Alternatively you could change religion as you can take religious holidays off without penalty.

And do the rules apply to academy schools who have opted out of the normal frameworks?? Cant see how they can enforce much if they have opted out of Local Authority control.

Usual stuff – apply common sense and rationality. If there is a genuinely important family event etc meaning you have to miss a few term days then you go. If you get fined then just take it on the chin. I hardly think that you will be upset by that when looking back on your life but you may well be upset about missing something like a large family event or doing something that bonds your family or is just plain old fashioned fun.

screw gove and all his policies. If he or any of his team had been in the profession before being an MP / in government then you may be able to take him a bit more seriously but the guy is a chump. And ugly.

My Kemo works well. A bit of a bugger to set up initially but other than that fine as all I need for is GPS (Garmin 800) and light.

Light does fade on slower sections but is more than enough when combined with an Exposure Diablo on lowest setting. Once you get rolling however, it is perfect.

have the USE / Exposure Revo set up wired through a Kemo M176 so can power the light at night and the garmin 800 by day.
    Love it.
talk of a very long self supported event next year and so may probably use it as an excuse to get some carbon road wheels built up with the hub on the front.
