Anyone else had issues with weird tide marks appearing on frame after being cleaned??

Tried everything to make them go away (including degreasing with white spirit) but to no avail.

Anyway, after this mornings prep for next weeks hard training plan I tried using windowleen on the frame and now shiny and gorgeous with no streaky tide marks!!! Yey!!

Still can’t get over how much I love this bike

Did a 138m round trip on it on Saturday on the road, flipped the tyres to cx and went for a quick cx spin the next day and it felt even better !

It’s a nice ride, superb scenery

The map we used for planning was a bit rubbish though and it failed to show just how much constant undulation there was on the fire / double track sections!

4 of us did it and I towed a bob yak with all our gear

Would do again with the kids

    Must post up pics!

Did the c2c sportive on mine at the weekend on 28c contis. It flew!

Just put the 32c small blocks back on this evening to do the Dorset gravel dash route. Still looks better with the small blocks in my opinion.

Can’t rate this bike highly enough.

Scandal was my go too. Very versatile and robust if a bit heavy. Tbh if you don’t need a rack and will be using bags you would be daft to not at least consider Chinese carbon. Built up a pretty ultimate xc / backpacking bike for not a daft amount of money!

Will post pictures of mine up later!

Have been lucky enough to have ridden stacks of different bikes over the years but safe to say this is easily the best thing I have thrown my leg over. Would sell the kids before this now!

Although I am 6’3″ tall I went for the 57cm which was definitely the right move for me. Had justridingslong make me up 3 wheels: kings on archetype h pros with another paired to an sp dynamo hub. Trp spyres fitted and are amazing. Will upgrade cranks to rotor 3d next year. 105kit on it atm which is more than adequate!

Put 32c small block 8s on it sand did the Welsh c2c on it (well, 149miles of it in sub 24hours) and doing the c2c sportiv this weekend with 28c conti 4 seasons. Its ability off road is stunning and now having frame bags made for a 1000 mile continental shelf supported adventure next year.

Only negative thing is the underside down tube decals. Need to replace mine as looking tatty now. Will heli tape over New ones.

As above, bb routed brake hose would be better and an on-board rear brake mount looks better imho.

If you get the chance get one.

was looking at the rosewood hotel in a magazine the other day. Not sure I could afford that but it looks STUNNING!

The Holburn Dining Room is there too and looks like a very nice place to eat. Or you could try the gymkhana (www.londongymkhana.com)for posh indian food in a gorgeous setting!

I went from BB7 (robust, very good at what they do, bomb proof but very wide and heavy) for BB7 SLs as above with a bit of weight savings to TPR Spyres (lighter, narrower and with twin piston) and have to say that the TRPs win hands down.

Have to caveat that they are on my Tripster so not an out and out CX bike. That said I gave the Welsh C2C a good bash on it with Kenda Small Black 8s (32c) and I was never under powered.

Coupled with 105 shifter / levers on Salsa flared drop bars (awesome!)
