Be brave and buy my genesis skyline singlespeed winter training bike / commuter

Guaranteed to make you need to buy larger trousers to accommodate bigger thighs after the first few weeks

If you want to stay strong over the dark months this is what you need

£250 including full guards and Blackburn rack. Ortlieb panniers to go with it for a few bob more

    I concur with weaksy completely.

challenging year that tested PMA but have turned things around in a huge number of ways. Now considering options over jobs which will make significant changes to life and the future potentially.

I have about a million hours of those mixes but for me some of the best were a selection of 10 mixes on mp3 which were done by Solid Steel / Ninja Tune for a Canadian college radio station. Must dig them out as they were amazing (but then again, I am biased as I truly believe that after hearing my first show it changed the way I wanted to hear music presented).

Got so many freebies of Kev et al over the years, time to make a display of them.

EDIT: just remembered. One of my favs was that mix when they cut up about 10 different versions of Light My Fire – stunning.

I found that the TRP spyres I had were really good stoppers in terms of power but it as the modulation that was really inspiring.

Grab a fist full of the levers and you will induce a skid but otherwise much more control.

I found that with 23c tyres on I was more prone to locking up as the contact was quite small on higher pressures. I have now gone to 28c on the Tripster and the power regulation is even better now.

So many good rides this year!

Trying to do more distance than usual pootling and so quite a few long ones on the road, cx and mtb

    No particular order:

BB200 on the mtb (220km route with 5600m of climbing in just over 24 hours on the hardest route they have ever put together made it especially sweet!)
Carenafon (sp) to Cardiff castle on the cx bike (planned 200 miles but had to scratch at about 140m due to daft weather but learnt more about myself, planning, bike, set up etc etc than ever before so actually a very positive experience – albeit in hindsight),
150m C2C sportive on the road bike with 5000m of climbing on my 40th was amazing (superb party to celebrate both afterwards helped sooth the legs!)

A handful of 100 milers also should make this year a real step up from normal – 4500m year which is a new PB for me! With planned changes to training and being coached properly, 2015 should be even better.

Speaking of which, time for a lunchtime ride!

    Life is good! 😀

SP as mentioned but depends on what you want to run from it

If not being used to power an android device then you can run it through a very cheap Kemo M176 unit (I think) for about £20 which will happily split the power between a GPS an a Revo light.

I have two now, one for road / cx and one for mtb – wired up via a kemo to a Garmin 800 and a Revo.

The problem you may well find is that you will keep getting those ‘lost power’ beeps from the GPS if you go below 6ish mph and (annoyingly) above 20 ish mph.

To get round this you need a steady power supply and this can be done simply by running the power generated through the hub through a piggy back battery that can simultaneously charge and discharge. I will dig out a link for you and draw a quick diagram. Really simple to wire up and makes the whole thing better in my opinion.

I went down the fully rigid carbon route but a non-branded open mould jobbie from China

Frame, forks and carbon rims for all under £350 posted

Very light and stuff but quite comfortable too

No issues and has survived over 2 years of bike packing and long distance adventures

Got damaged a few weeks back on the bb200 but got patched up without any problems

    Would recommend
