There is a ‘bleed port’ next to the damper dials. The installation video (in French) shows them screwing in a syringe full of damper fluid and pumping the damper rod a few times.

Trying to work out what this means for my family. Fly back in on Dec 23rd. Looks like we will be self isolating over Xmas awaiting results after a home kit PCR, rather than spending it with relatives?

Don’t rule out certain people carriers. We run a 15 plate 1.6 tdi Octavia estate and a 17 plate 1.5 tdi grand Picasso. The French car really is badly put together and getting a right kicking off the kids. The Skoda is a nice well built product in comparison and I’d say better screwed together than a previous 2012 Passat estate I had. However, for the OP, the French car has a bigger boot and the 3 proper seats in the rear have a completely flat floor space.

Might be wrong on this, but one difference between a golf and Octavia estate is rear leg room is better in the Octavia.

What I look forward to at Christmas is the annual STW ‘mother-in-law at Christmas’ thread.

Worth pointing out that the UK had professional standing army twice the size of today just before WW2, supported by volunteer TA type units.

I did the MBCUK Level 1 – think it’s the same as Level 2 of other courses. It covers trail leadership and coaching.

Kev questioned him on the lift and he muttered something about “building regs”.

Did he throw that shockingly laid turf down 30 mins before Kev turned up?

Not really sure what the cyclist did wrong. He was only using the wing mirror to balance himself. As for the lady getting run over – even if you agree she had stopped if the driver wasn’t so busy pulling/punching the cyclist he would have seen her!

I had one 20 yrs ago – might be possible to get a frame in the back as the rear seats fold completely flat.

However, I moved onto a mark 5 Golf Gti. Not quite as quick in a straight line, but better engine and superior handling car – really made the TT look dated in that department. But the Audi was just so special. The V6 version was great.

Even compared to bang up to date geometry, the mark 2 is still looking quite slack with a 65.5 degree head angle, sagged at 140 travel. I wonder what the static head angle is on mine, with 160 forks?

Meeting the in laws at Gloucester services Thursday to drop the kids off. Hate the trip as I can see the nice queues on the M5 south bound which I know I’ve got to then join. Last half term it was a 9 hr round trip from Plymouth.

The south hams is going to be rammed this summer.

I think Boris could have taken the news conference as a chance to also reinforce that the rule of 6/two families indoors rule still exists for another month.

Good luck. My Teams felt odd – I only had a photo of each of the interview panel.

Just to update: I passed the interview but didn’t get the job as someone else scored higher. I’ve been put on a list for 12 months for possible further positions.

It was an almost enjoyable experience and I now have a much better understanding of the process. I possibly lost marks for 2 reasons. Firstly, it took a while to get my head around the interview requirements so ran out of time to refine my answers a little more. Secondly, I could only really get a pass for some of the technical questions as I had not used any of the auditing systems `they’ use, but was at least able to demonstrate my experience of similar systems – I had planned ahead for that question.

Anyway, have an interview coming up with a county council. So far, no detail on the interview structure although I presume they will focus on the main area of the job spec. Out of interest, they are “happy to talk flexible working.” When should this be raised for council jobs? At interview or if and when offered the post? Its the usual kids school pick up/drop off and the position is a 45 min drive away.

LOL. The good thing about the Common, is if you know it well, and due to it being flat, you can escape from any wardens and be well away before they get anywhere near you. Loads of paths arn’t even marked on the OS Map.

A few of the Strava segments have literally over a 1000 riders on them, but don’t let you fool you – its down to annual cycle events. In 3 years I rarely saw any other mountain bikers and there only seemed to be a few regulars, some evidently very racing snake-esque.

Used to live next to the Common. Its pretty flat but can be hard going in the mud or sand of which there is lots depending on the time of year. Loads of Strava segments too with some nice ribbons of singletrack – best thing is to aim for a hill and see what’s off the top. I could at a push touch 1000ft of climbing in say a 15 mile route. It’s obviously xc and to do the whole lot is anything from Sunningdale, across the golf course to Windlesham, down to Chobham and then to Maclaren HQ area. There are bridges or underpasses to get across the motorway. There are Rangers about but I never had an issue on footpaths which seem to be extensively used by horse riders too. Don’t go at night or you will eaten by Doggers if not quick enough.

One for for the interviewers. Do you tend to ask two questions for each behaviour (a situational and real example)? That alone I’m guessing will take up at least half the interview hour for three behaviours.

My 5 minute presentation seems to be assessing technical and ability in the main. I’m also if to try and get as many points across as possible or deep dive into two or three to illustrate greater understanding.

Had the Moderna Sat 5pm. Achy arm for 24hrs. Since Sunday morning had slight aches, runny nose, tiredness. However, if it wasn’t for the jab I’d prob not even notice the symptoms or put them down to a few glasses of red 😆

The coastal footpaths around my way (Plymouth) have taken a hammering over the winter. But it’s great to see such huge numbers out and about. The downside is firstly the number of dog poo bags dumped all over the place – I can only assume that the owners genuinely think it’s ok if they are prepared to pick it up in the first place. Equally depressing is the amount of rubbish and litter dumped on the beaches next to already overflowing bins – Bovisands last night was the worst I’ve seen it.

Everyone seems to be extending. Down our way (Plymouth), you have to wait weeks to just get an architect out to see you, if you can find one who isn’t too busy.

The Crown Estate with the police, are trying to actively catch these individuals. Locals who come across them can report their location to the Duty Forest Warden or 101.

Nah, the Smax has a much smaller boot than the Alhambra. Also compare the rear 2 seats – the Alhambra actually gives more foot room than the second row of seats.

I’ve had a T5 and an Alhambra people carrier. The T5 was hardly any wider and in fact was easier to park as the turning circle was significantly tighter than the tank. The S Max is a step down in size compared to the Alhambra which also had sliding doors. Now have a Grand Picasso which with 3 small kids is way to small for our needs. Anyone selling a T5 Kombi? 😆

Robbed? Pretty sure it was Kryton moaning after the 2015 WC loss about mitigating circumstances? Wasn’t the second try legit technically?

Fair play to them, I thought Wales would get thumped going into the last 20.

More importantly we saw one of Glaws finest wings loosing out in a foot race to the latest off the production line.

    Half time interview good too

For years I’ve used the traditional shimano BB, deore, XT and saint. To be fair isn’t a massive amount of difference between them when I’ve picked them apart – the odd extra or slightly better plastic seal.

However the later XT M800 (?) version with the smaller cups (use the provided BB tool insert), seems to later a lot longer.

I use the base sauce recipe in The Curry Guy Bible. Do a job lot then freeze in portions. It’s quite bland on its own but the idea is you then add more spices etc when you make different curries. It’s basically a shed load of onions, garlic, ginger, spices, vege and oil. Simmered for ages and then skim off the oil to be used as seasoned cooking oil in any number of curry or non curry dishes. Blend what’s left to a soup consistency.
