Good on Jiffy giving MoM to Wainright, rather than the number 10 of the winning side as with most pundits.

I think the OP only needs one waste transfer note if the same waste – covers a 12 month period. A receipt might be provided for each collection.

Went from Primary into the civil service and echo what is said above. Yes, for some jobs you need certain skills or qualifications (I luckily had these before teaching) but they are looking for transferable behaviours and strengths at interview.

Oh well, at least it was nice to see LRZ put the after burners on. At Kingsholm last weekend he was seriously rapid in front of a sell out. He seems to have developed the nack of running only as quick as he has to – that was a mere jog today. 😆

You mention turning circle. I had an Alhambra and the turning circle was awful. Far worse than my T5 and a wider vehicle. In fact if it was not for twin sliding doors, the size of the thing makes it less practical on that front. Also the sliding doors weigh so much they are pretty dangerous with little ones. Apart from that a quality bit of kit, takes a kicking from the kids (unlike our present Grande Picasso). Rear 2 seats are a proper size, giving more leg room than the mid rear bench. With all 7 seats up, you could still had a decent boot. Mine was the 150hp diesel. Don’t think I ever saw above 50mpg even on the motorway – lucky to average 40 due to the weight of the thing.

Yer, seen that complete bike price. Which ever way I’ll be going down the interest/interest only route. I’ve got some nice forks/wheels/brakes to swap across but still need to spend £300 on worn out parts which I wouldn’t have to with a complete bike purchase. So trading a better shock on the frame only against this, plus the price I get for moving kit on I don’t need.

Early 50’s and in the last couple of years I’ve gone from company Director, to teacher, to civil servant. My old Cannock mucker TomB, drop us a line if you want some sustainability advice.

The weight of the bike on the forks will account for 7mm surely? Another way of looking at it, when you take off on a jump the full 170 will appear.

Yer, Tam Coc is nice. Not sure the Easy Riders are still going in Da Lat, but good fun. Haven’t been for 15 years now, but recommend overnight trains instead of tourist buses. Local buses for local people are fun too. Just smile a lot and if crossing the road, just go for it but with no sudden movements – they will swerve round you 😆

Looks like those accountancy offices you see on industrial units.

From the little I’ve looked when musing leaving the UK, housing in Sweden looks incredibly cheap.

Constant battle with Scottish Power not to put my DD up each month – I want it based on energy I’m currently using, they want it allegedly based on previous 12 months averaged out, despite me taking weekly readings to illustrate we have cut our usage significantly this year. Apparently this is to stop me going into debt, yet the debt is then owing me money.

5 of us in a 4 bed 60’s semi. Last year we were averaging £160 a month on a fixed tariff. Since January we have really cut back on our usage so during the period April – October the cost for leccy/gas is only £150 a month with the price rises. Have not looked at the implications for winter yet, but it was a real battle to keep our DD at £160 and not the £260 Scottish power wanted.

Used 6.5k kWh so far this year, clocking about 500 a month now.

Woolacombe is a little cheaper than Croyde/Saunton. Worth going just for the Sri Lankan curry on Barricane beach and the cream cakes in the Mortehoe NT tea shop.

Having our small bathroom done was a learning experience. Our good calls were nice tiles, £800 bath and using non slip Lino – looks good these days, warm and easily changed. Went for a mixture of units and taps, largely IKEA type stuff.

Quote wise for a complete refit, tile and plaster ranged from £2500-£6500 plus tiles and units. We went for the cheap quote which despite the extensive grief in the end prob got 95% of the finish.

I was in the first batch of student loans 30 odd years ago. If I recall it was about £800 a year and I paid it back at £14 a month 😆

Fast forward 30 yrs and I went back into FT education (turns out it was not required due to another career shift), and I think I’ve correctly worked out with thresholds I’ve got to pay back over £100 a month until I’m well into care home territory. And that is with a modest amount – no where near £40k.

Those logs in the photo above have been put in place since I used to live just down the road, as suggested, probably to reduce speeds onto the fire road. The A line was just to the right of the photo.

Found some of the yellow brick road sections hard going on HT’s without much give in them. A 2007 Epic was my choice.

Eh? A grade or two above the different job application 9 months previously in my OP.

I knew I had a good chance purely on the numbers who made it to interview. I actually thought I’d messed up, partly as the behavioural questions where slightly left field and the ‘cool’ responses from the interviewers. On reflection I did put a lot of effort selling myself and linking my skills into the departments weaknesses and objectives instead of just reading out my cv. Also I think on an audio only interview it’s difficult for all parties to interact fully.

Well, to bring this thread full circle, a year later I’ve actually been offered another exiting position with the same department – a better fit and a grade or two above. Put a lot of work into the application and interview – the civil service behaviours really helps focus your skills when you get your head around it, as does the expected cv lay out.

The last year I’ve dipped in and out of public sector job hunting with a variety of application and interview experiences.

And an update on my 160mm Yari Up. It seems a lot more sensitive to rebound set up than with the normal MC damper, and I run 6 clicks from slow. Can play around with the other settings but generally 4 clicks of LSC and 14 of MSC. Also found putting in 15 psi more gets the most out of the fork. I really need to do a proper fork service, check the oil level and bleed with the lowers off rather than the syringe off the top.

I’d have got the minimum done to get the MD service stamp, and gone elsewhere for the rest.

Had mine operated on Sat – now got a nice 5 inch scar above my belly button. No mesh used, apparently internal stitching is a better option if possible. Tad sore and tired.

As my surgical nurse wife pointed out – “now try holding a baby and breastfeeding while I go for a celebratory beer.” 😆

Scottish Power wanted to increase my variable rate DD by £80 as I made the mistake of submitting a monthly reading the day before the DD was due out. So knowing full well my account would be in credit the next day, used this as an excuse to increase it, also taking into account the April price rise yet to kick in.

Got an op on Sat, which is not bad since I was in A&E 3 weeks ago in a lot of pain. Have a weakness in my stomach from an op as a nipper and I’ve been managing it since. Stomach pokes out a bit permanently and every time it pops out I just push it in. The other week it didn’t for several hours and it sort of moved around. Stomach been sore on and off since with more popping – been told 2 months off the bike.

Was paying £147 a month and when our contract ended in January the energy company bless them, wanted to charge me £310 a month to ‘protect me’ against future price rises. It was almost impossible to find their standard tariff on the website. Now Being really energy conscious and on the variable my costs are still £147 a month (in winter) and come April they still won’t be anywhere near £310a month.

Schools seem to be shutting in Plymouth but my kids school is still open – the PTA have cancelled the outdoor doughnut sale, mind. 😂

Hopefully, Dartmoor will give some protection compared to the north coast.

Recently put a Yari Up in for my hard tail. Straight away it’s softer off the top with noticeable more pedal Bob and I’m catching my pedals. Certainly makes things less fidgety. Still trying to get my head around the MSC.

Looking at the serial number, I’ve got an early set of Yari which I bought new – they don’t show up on the app either.

Having just joined Octavia estate ownership (a lowly 1.6tdi Elegance), I thought the OP was mad to change, as pound for pound the Skoda is up there with the best cars I’ve owned. However, a quick look at the spec and the VW surprisingly seems to have a similar boot capacity and yes, the seating position is pretty low in the Skoda. Must be a fair whack on the cost to change though?

As previously said, buy on condition. My 17 plate 40k Grand Picasso looks and feels worse than my 75k 65 plate Skoda. But there again it’s French tat.

Dr Harries? Is that the one who stood next to Borris in March 2020 and stated any PPE issues for the NHS would be sorted by the next day or so?

Just to build on the above, Fabian told me to fill the damper up to 70-80 mm from the top and insert the damper slowly which will expel any excess fluid. With syringe in place, cycle the forks up and down with air side deflated until no bubbles. Then close off LSC, pump the forks twice, then the same for MSC. Set both to mid point and remove syringe.

As suggested OP, I’d mention the party to the aunt then stand well back and observe the fall out. You’ve got some way to go to beat the STW record of turning up on the drive before having enough and turning round. So perhaps your partner can have an argument on the phone on the way to the Boxing Day party, so you don’t even reach the destination?

Didn’t bother to change the oil or at least check the height but all seems good. Only taken it for a quick spin on a man made gentle red trail, but what was apparent straight away was a bit of peddle bob on the flat. Will no doubt mess around with settings but dialled in 5 clicks of LSC and 14 of MSC. Thought it might blow through the travel after some gentle stuff, but it’s nice and supportive. All the usual phrases come to mind; flattens the rocky bits, tracks better, less fidgety, a bit more pop etc.

Ah, of course that makes sense now. I’ve actually found an appropriate syringe, so I can bleed without without taking the lowers off, but as you say no air makes it a lot easy to cycle the damper.

I found another thread and someone who bought directly from Fast had the shim tweaked for their riding style/weight etc

Sounds like I can get away without a bleed or lowers off. So best to drop the air out before install?
