    City Health Centre
2nd Floor, Boots, 32 Market Street,
    Manchester, M1 1PL
    Tel: 0161 839 6227
    Open seven days a week: 8am – 8pm

    Found from this page: http://www.manchester.nhs.uk/findyournearest/otherservices/walk-in_centres.html

No mention there of a charge for services…

They did say that it would be £25 because it was an RTA. Should have told them an elephant stood on my foot.

I’m not sure how much sympathy i’d get at A&E if i turn up on a bike but i’m not leaving it in Manchester over night, even in the work car park.

Well, just went to the NHS walk in centre and was informed that it’d be £25 for them to take a look at me and they cant do x-rays there anyway so there’s a good chance they’d take my money and then refer me to A&E anyway!

was a bit shaken up afterwards, got her phone number but forgot to write down her reg! Muppet.

No witnesses stopped, about 5 cyclists went past too, cars all drove round the back of her.

I was going right to left in that pic by the way… opposite way to the direction of traffic on the dual carriage way, hence slowing right down!

Just for my peace of mind, who does have right of way there? :D

Happened at this junction I slowed down to a crawl pretty much and she accelerated into the side of me (after looking right at me a few seconds before)

Nothing is swollen as yet and feeling fine… other than injuries sustained trying to ride down a frozen Jacobs ladder yesterday :D

Just back from a little trip from hayfield. Most of it was beautiful but there were still a few rivers of ice on some of the climbs that hadnt seen enough sun.

Train of 4 4×4’s was making a right mess of some of the climbs, was like trying to cycle through wet concrete.

Just for the record, there was a spacer it’s now been ripped out and forks seem happy at ~120mm

It actually takes me much longer to go from work…

get changed + 5 mins in disabled loo (+3-5 mins if the cleaners are in there and i have to hop about in the mens)

Waiting for the lift +5 mins

Walking to and unlocking bike +5 mins

Waiting for car park staff to notice me and roller door to go up +2-3 mins

Then i kill myself trying to knock 1 min off my time on the commute home!

Depends how long i’ve been awake for – generally i can do bed to saddle in less than 15 mins, none of that is faff though really.

I got one of these last week and i’m very happy with it!

Yet to hook the HDMI xbox up to it yet but the freeview TV tuner is a bit of a winner.

Looking to book train tickets, what station are we looking at then? :D

Seems you have to book bike spots on trains these days?

Cheap and easy way to get into restoring cars then you cant go far wrong with a mk1 MX5, will be good to drive about for a bit afterwards, parts are cheap and plentiful and its not rocket science.

You really cant tell the difference on road?

Sorry, but that has to be a case of you’re doing it wrong…

I didn’t check my helmet at the time and left it in the back of my mates van yesterday :(

Rode to work with a spare helmet. Looks like the bus home is going to be the best option.

I’m off to the hospital tomorrow for an unrelated matter so I’ll MTFU in the mean time.

If i do collapse then i’ll go for the brownie points and the Ambo exit.. Used to be a radio engineer for the Northwest Ambulance Service so will probably know the crew ferrying me ;)

depends how much you wanna spend on accommodation, I’ve stayed in some lovely holiday cottages in Falmouth/St Mawes (2 of them are in the grounds of Falmouth castle itself and i certainly would not condone riding round the grounds of the castle after the staff go home :D

There’s a nice enough C2C ride but its very easy going

if you do scrap the machine any chance i could snaffle the water reservoir?

I’ve got the same machine and mines cracked and leaking from that base.

    Few beer tokens/postage ofc.

I’ll pop along for cakes and coffee :D

Don’t most places (offices) in the city centre have secure bike storage or am I just being spoiled?

There’s 2 levels of basement under this place…

I’ve got one of those evans racks, its awesome – cheapo roadie with 700cc wheels and Endura panniers.

Can be loaded with shoes, laptop, clothes and assorted other electrical gubbins with no wobbles at all.

I’ve always got a good vibe from Harry Halls.

Last time i was in there one of the bike mechanics was complaining that the boss had let someone use the workshop area for a bit to work on their bike at lunchtime :D

I’m in about £500 worth of bike debt, although thats commuter/road bike debt not strictly MTB.

That includes a load of kit, panniers, rack, mudguards, commuting clothes etc.

I’ll pay it all off before the 0% runs out and it’ll still cost me less than getting the bus every day (and be 35 mins faster)

You really need to go and push some about, we’ve got some iCandy thing cos it was shiney and someone else was paying.

Plenty of room for my feet as if you get one that you kick every time you take a step it’ll drive you insane.

If i had to start from scratch again though i’d have got something with much bigger wheels, being into your axles in any sort of sand/loam isnt fun.

Get rid of the horrible firmware on your current router and stick DD-WRT on there, from your original post i’d suggest that you’d quite enjoy it :D

I doubt they’ll be seatbelts that the car seat would fit on a coach anyway? I think you’d get a lap strap at best.
