I was changing the bulb on my 2000 avensis the other day – Reading the internets it suggested that you’d need the hands of a 2 year old child to get down there and change the thing.

It just so happens that I had a 2 year old child kicking about and was about to go and wake her from her nap until I read the post about 4 down that suggested removing the battery thus making more space to change it.

In defence of Toyota, it’s not that bad if you have small hands (I don’t)

The stars/planets will have to align for me to get out for this… Need to sort a childminder and get home in time for a bit of black tie action in Manc later.

got 4 at the moment and another 2 that are tied – I just cant do them any faster.

There’s a bloke that rides almost the same commute as me that averages ~23mph on a 10 mile TT so i’m chuffed to have any at all!

I’ve got the shitty job of picking my mate up after the as he’s up from London and staying at mine – He had a spare ticket going but my gf is going in to hospital Friday afternoon :|

Not sure if the link will work but my gf has got one of those in the green – shes a proper roadie in so far as shes spent more time on the internet trying to find kit that she can colour code to the bike than actually riding it.

She’s 5’10 though so geometry wasn’t as much of a problem for her, i’ll check what size it is for you.

No other door options? We put a cat flap in our glass patio door.

One of my friends had an issue with a stray tom coming in and spraying all over the place – after trying 3 other solutions she ended up with one of the ones that reads the cats microchip – this makes it even more unsightly as it’s powered!

Yes! thats what i used to put them on.

I remember now – maybe i have lost a spanner since i fitted them (and maybe a few marbles)

I’m pretty sure there’s not, I’ll have to check when i get home – I’ll admit i was trying to do it in the gloom after cocking up bleeding my brakes for an hour or so…

You’d think being this crap with an, obviously proverbial spanner would put me off but it just spurs me on!

It wont be long until the lycra gets you…

Whats strange is how unfriendly other roadies can be until you don the uniform then they’re amazingly friendly!

So does anyone on here actually want the UK to maintain a permanent nuclear deterrent?

I realise that we’re all a bunch of bleeding heart liberals and that BAE systems has some serious lobbying power but i’m yet to meet anyone that’s in favour of the bloody thing!

How many jobs are in the supply chain? noe enough to justify £25Bn (and thats the estimated cost before the usual climbs in price)

Fingers crossed i can sort out some childcare and get myself along, bloomin gf is booked in at clarins in the middle of the day and a black tie do in the evening.

I’ll have to make sure i clear all the mud off me first :D

I’d second a DNS fault, dunno about the macs but on one of the PCs try an ipconfig /flushDNS then try again

They’re probably just forwarding all their requests to the router so that might not do much. You’d need to set up opendns on your router

Add the below to your DNS servers in the config
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220

I set out for work this morning on the road bike then before i’d got off the drive went back indoors as I realised that today was going to be a day where i’d need a complete change of clothes :/

Oh and when i got to work my pannier hadnt been entirely waterproof – cue about 10 mins in front of the hand dryer

Ha I doubt the girlfriend would be very impressed if I wobbled home on the bike and left the car in Marple.

    It’s an idea though :D

Do you normally just go to the car park at Roman Lakes or is there a secret parking spot that doesnt close at sunset?

Always worried that i’d get my car locked in there :D

I know my way about round Roman Lakes well enough now, might see if i can get my gate of a bike on the train down from town.

Portlyone, dropped you an email about those rides from Jacksons boat

I’d be up for a bit of a South Manc evening ride/explore – still relatively new to the area and tbh it’s drove me to buying a road bike.

MTB would need dragging out from the back of the shed.

Having considered this further I think riding together is a great idea but needs to not be the main point of the excursion (as it normally is for me)

The rides i’ve enjoyed most with my OH are the ones where we’ve gone in search of a country pub or something (with our 2 year old attached in the Hamax child seat)

My girlfriend is just getting in to riding on the road, shes never fancied off road at all despite having mountain bike for years.

We go out for the odd ride together but she doesnt like riding close to my back wheel, or riding side by side so I just end up wheel sucking the whole way round and not getting much of a work out :D

So yes we ride together, no, it’s not the most amazing thing ever… Then again my girlfriends bike is the only one thats allowed to live in the house!
