Hey nice one, it looks really slack – Im getting 160 pikes (black) too!

How does it ride compared to the previous heckler?

What do you think of the rear shock?

Even new vinyl is silly money. £20+ for a single album? I think not.

its a niche market – what do you expect?

Sat at home playing all my Boards of Canada vinyl reissues drinking vino – mrs working!

me too. lots of UK first editions from the 60’s. very, very hard to get rid of for decent money…

Because they are probably not as rare as you think!

Think some people believe that ALL vinyl from the 60s & 70s is worth a fortune – yes some is especially short-run 1st pressings & mono Beatles pressings etc

I just have to laugh at some of the prices some of these charity shops are trying to charge – yes I know vinyl is getting popular again but there are bargains to be had if your thorough in your search.

It pains me to see Smiths LPs for over £30 on ebay, you can find them less than a tenner, or better still buy the reissues for less than £20

Now, if I could just find a good cond. Planar 3 to replace my dead record player somewhere other than Ebay I´d be happy.

Get an RP3 – thats the modern day equivalent – better in every aspect

    I am building a SC Heckler 650B
I have been cany buying NEW parts when I have seen good offers

I picked up the following recently from CRC a few weeks ago when they had a mad sale for £250

    X9 shifters
    X7 rear mech
    XT cassette
    2 x PC971 chains
    SLX front Mech
    SLX Double Bash with BB

Then got my Pike RC3 from bike discount.de for £588

Set of Mint M4 brakes off the forum for £120

When i got my frame (£1349) i blagged a hope taper headset supplied & fitted

Just need wheels now (cheapest i seen is £330)

it will be a £2800 build a bit more than the complete bike from SC but that has crap spec for £2600

SBrock – I’m running 150mm solo air pikes on my bronson and they’re very plush, extremely stiff compared to any single crown fork I’ve ridden before. No down sides yet. As an added bonus they’re also pretty light too.

Thanks, I think 150 will be the sweet spot TBH so gonna order a set of 150mm Pike Solo Airs

    Serious Bronson’s fellas!

Thinking of a 650B Heckler or possibly an Alu Bronosn – what size forks are you running? 150 or 160?

What your opinions on the Pikes – I will be speccing mine with Solo Air pikes just can’t decide 150 or 160

    cheers

What is the obsession with people on her to get ‘babies’ on bikes FFS

They should be doing baby things like crawling/walking/climbing/exploring – don’t forget the dangers.

    Absolutely ridiculous!

Saint Tony had got properly stuck in

    He did!!!

Him & Bush were chomping at the bit to get into Iraq – oh how times have changed!

As for Syria – how **** is that gonna sort itself out I do not know – but what I do know the scenes of dead children are pretty upsetting to say the least.

Personally get all the innocent Syrians out of the country and bomb the place to smithereens – only my opinion like! Why should we be involved in a costly war FFS

the rega carts are nothing special (i owned an Elys) much better offerings out there from the likes of ortofon, sumiko etc.

I beg to differ but you are entitled to your opinion!

Do you refer to the Elys or Elys 2?

Rega carts IME are very nice on a Rega arm, yes you can get better but then you start having to mess about with spacers on the arm – I just think for simplicity then a Rega Elys 2 will sound lovely.

BTW I have Dynavector 10×5 on my RP6 and its lovely but so was the Rega Exact I had on before!

That said this (Edwards Audio TT1) looks interesting for £380.

basically its a reworked Rega with an ‘OK” arm!

    Better off with this

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rega-RP3-in-Titanium-B-Grade-slight-minor-imperfections-save-126-00-/390622756232?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Turntables&hash=item5af2ee3d88

Slight cosmetics – yes – I got an RP6 with slight cosmetics and cannot see anything wrong with albeit it a £1k deck but sounds fantastic

Get them to put an Elys 2 and you have a very nice deck – the best sub £500 deck imho – it has plenty of upgrade potential too – TT PSU, subplatter

Also the RP3 has the superb RB303 tonearm which is also on the RP6

Good Luck – The RP3/Elys2 combo sounds great………….I should know I owned one!

i feel for you last Oct was told we were in consultation, go made redundant with 2 years salary, my shares & pension so was in a good position!
Applied for 40-50 jobs got 3 replies, 3 interviews and 3 job offers so was lucky i walked into another job, 3 months later I left as hated the job, environment & management were useless.
So i am job hunting again and have a few irons in the fire
Living off my redundancy at the minute – so hope I get another job…….to start about Sept would be great!
