[/quote]If you need 160mm you would be better off with an Alpine.

I have a Butcher already, just wanted to see if the 5 will offer me anything different

I have a SC Butcher at the minute which I love, but have the chance of a cheap 2011 5 frame, just wanted to try one one out (and see what all the hype is about) with the Fork off my Butcher! If the 5 suits my rid in better (Peaks etc) then sell the Butcher.

Poverty must be a difficult thing. Please excuse my plush, slippery, gold stanchions, I didn’t mean for them to offend you.

    love it!

Flow – Enjoy your Kashimas, I fooking love mine, they feel amazing and look the nuts!

Does the spicy have have a linkage to manipulate the spring rate in the same way as SC APP bikes?’ I have a Butcher spoke to Simon at Loco about the problem of reaching full travel as my Float ramps up at the end, which it is supposed to do, however I would like t have a bit more travel out of it, Simon suggested some Shims in the Shim stack….. May try that first or would I get a better result going to a coil like a Van R tuned for me and my bike?

The molecular makeup of Kashima give its very slippery properties….apparently

Here we go….. Fox vs RS, I have always had RS forks and they have been brilliant, friends use fox forks and no complaints. However I treated my self to some Fox Van 36 RC2 Kashimas, and they feel great, but so did my Lyriks but the fox look sick!

No doubt someone will be along in a min to warn us of severe stanchion wear on Fox forks – Yes they will wear if don’t service the seals regular… It is such an inexpensive, quick job to carry out even if it is every 30 hrs on the Van 36’s.

I got custom tune at same time and the skf seals will probably make a big difference. Would have liked the choice really as the logo’s on top of stantion are important for braging!

I believe that Fox now spec all 2012 Forks with the improved SKF seals, Simon form LOCO will probably confirm this!

The coating colour will vary slightly from batch to batch of the stantions (and other coated units)due to the amount of dye used in each ‘run’ and a few other variables, or so I was told

Separate production runs will end with a slightly different shade, Fox say this is normal and is a result of the process!

My 2012 Van 36 RC2, i know they are 2012 as it says on the label on the box, as you can see the kashima coat isn’t that dark!

my 2012 Fox Van 36 RC2s do have the Logo on at the top!

I read somewhere that pre 2012 Kashimas don’t

NB the shade of gold on the Kashimas does differ due to manufacturing processes

Sorry to hear that, where was the bike stolen from?

I have been storing my SC Butcher (£3500 custom build with Van 36 Kashimas) in my garden shed as have had no other option, but now it stays inside the house now so fingers crossed. Some people just don’t have the option of storing bikes securely inside, however I can sleep a bit easily now.

It’s a sorry state of affairs people stealing your bikes. Scum

letting agent told me that as they had signed a 6 month contract we can issue them a s21 in the fourth month so they have to move out at the end of their 6 month period??

    is this correct?

Yes but make sure you give it the day before the anniversary date, ie if they signed on 28th of the month then give it on the 27th

Had both, and do the type of riding you describe, and it would be the Five all the way.

Thats why the OP needs to try both as both have totally different suspension platforms so will ride with different character.

    try them both out fella!

Jungle (UK Santa Cruz importer) should send there demo Blur to your LBS if they are any sort of decent bike shop, thats what they did for me when I took a demo on a Butcher, they charged me £50 but this came off the price of the frame when I ordered it.
