Of course if the government had any sense they’d ban the lot from city centres except for disabled people and make everyone who could walk or cycle.

    Bang on.

If you’re doing enough miles to warrant a diesel you should probably look at changing your lifestyle to do fewer miles. 💡

Has anyone actually tried kicking a dog?

Tried it with the family dog once but it blocked me and roundhouse kicked me out the mother **** window.

I think we can all agree that the only solution agreeable to everyone is to

Keep your dogs under control; on a lead.

Good to see this thread going “full-Staffie-Big-Hitter”!

What would your dog do if another dog attacked it, write a strongly worded letter?

And what would your advice to the OP be? So far your posts have lacked any content.

    your aggressive dog

It’s not aggressive, it is defensive. Calm yourself down.

Dogs have no right to roam free. I can see stickers on lamp posts from this very seat offering fines to dog owners that think otherwise.

But what about the rights of the dog to roam free? Shirley you can’t deny the laws of nature?

I appreciate that they are now shaved, buffed and scented with lavender, but you are still talking bollocks.

I would kick the dog and bite the ankles of the owner

Then rob the poor and shoot the money!

    Makes a lot of sense.

What does? Keeping the dog on a lead and under control? Too right.

Certainly more than your two posts made of 100% senseless bollocks.

Here’s a clue: when you are being called out before even joining a thread it may be time for some introspection. 💡

Although in the op’s case I just have an image of a man mincing about, Daschund in arms and squealing whilst a small dog nips his ankles in a pretty harmless manner.

And there was me assuming the OP was a woman!

    Silly sbob!

Personally I wouldn’t kick a dog if it wasn’t doing any harm.

And I wouldn’t punch a pensioner for pushing into the queue at the post office, but neither of these scenarios are relevant to the OP where harm, and distress did occur. 💡

Kick the dog OP, don’t become one of the thousands of people admitted to hospital each year due to dog attacks.

Alternatively, get yourself a proper dog. Our family Staffie is the most loving well natured animal you’ll come across, but if another dog plays silly buggers it would rip them to pieces.

Or, with an equal power output and kerb weight, a 1992 Rover 216. 😆

I’d kick anything that tried to bite me. The species is irrelevant.

There’s little point comparing them to other cars, they are unique.

    Honda Beat?

    Suzuki Cappuccino?

    Mazda Autozam AZ-1?

    Daihatsu Copen?

    Need I go on?

    😛

Brakes are crap but then the car is slow so that shouldn’t be a problem. Worst aspect is the woeful gearbox that is slow and jerky. Other than that they’re quite good, I’d have one with a manual box.

The disco is awesome for what it does. Then it breaks. And it will.

Holed a piston in the one I used to drive, how good is your spannering? Obviously the suspension and electrics broke, but that’s pretty much routine maintenance.

    Summary: avoid.

I thought he had a lifetime ban!

We should let him back, I never liked Sherlock Holmes anyway.

Though I will never forget the time he burst into the study and instructed me to drop my trousers, bend over and liberally smear my buttocks with Silver Shred marmalade.

“My God Holmes! What are you planning?”

“A lemon entry, my dear Watson.”

There was a delay whilst we were discussing whether “pikey” was inherently offensive or whether its use was acceptable in describing this particular group of miscreants.

I believe Pistonheads added the word to their swear filter following threats of legal action by some particularly sensitive thieving pikey bastards, a point you may wish to consider.

As an aside, when you have level-headed forumites like footflaps posting what he just did, I’d suggest something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

I made almost exactly the same comment to someone except instead of footflaps I used you as an example of a voice of reason.

Just thought that might tickle you.  🙂

Sighs. Try it out and see for yourself but don’t kid yourself into thinking that you can consistently achieve the same temperature on a gas hob every time you use it.

I have no doubt that you can select “heat number 6” or “heat number 7” every time you want with complete repeatability.

But with a gas knob you can select six and a third. Or if that’s not quite enough, six and four sevenths. You cannot have a greater range of temps with greater control of temp with fewer increments of setting. That’s simply not possible.

    Enjoy your new cooker. 🙂

As opposed to the (Hungover) Breakfast of Champions…

Reminds me of V.I.N.CENT. the robot from The Black Hole film.

The big question is how the ‘full English’ got to be so popular. It is easily the worst out of the three main fry ups – the Scottish, the Ulster and the English.

Having googled the other two out of necessity, they only appear to differ from the world renown full English by the replacement of delicious fried bread by inferior non-fried substitutes?

The ability to control the temperature in a pan is much better in an induction hob as controlling the flow of an electrical current is much easier than controlling the flow of gas of varying composition through a valve.

Sounds impressive, but what is simpler and more controllable than twisting a knob?

    14 < infinity.

    Your words suggest otherwise.

    Would you like further clarification?

You can claim whatever you like

    See https://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/eu-referendum-are-you-in-or-out/ for evidence.

Check out my first dozen posts to the EU thread, sbob. I outlined some of the downsides whilst being firmly in favour of membership.

Yes, but you’re reasonable. You’re the exception that proves the rule.

You seem to be switching tracks here. So what do you have to support your claim that people cant get their heads round it?

Not switching tracks, just thought I was being obvious with what I meant: despite repeatedly stating that I was a remainer posters would continuously argue against me as if I was a Brexiteer just because I dared to question the EU.

The point was the us vs them nature of discussion here.

    Having discarded your previous assertion

    I haven’t.

If you add “whilst arguing in an STW thread” to the end of my first post you refer to you will see that I haven’t changed what I was saying.

I didn’t think it was necessary to add “whilst arguing in an STW thread” on the grounds that that was exactly what I was talking about.

Apologies for the confusion, but thank you for helping me to prove my point

I’m sure you’ll be able to furnish us with some evidence to support your new one. I would also add that not wishing to discuss something with you specifically is not a reliable way of drawing wider conclusions.

If making unsubstantiated claims is fine, why have you just asked me to substantiate a claim? 😆

IAM very dependent on your local group. I didn’t get on with one crowd but did get on with another.

I found RoSPA a higher standard, but then my experiences are years old; been over three since I’ve driven.

I used to do displays with Paul Swift when he was about five.

Surprised he could reach the pedals of the Montego. 😉

    I’ve driven with Terry Grant.
