Okay maybe Yelawolf but Giggs & Pusha T aren’t rappers in the same light as Wu, NWA etc

Oh no I wasn’t saying that. Just that they offer something different.

I don’t think there’s anyone currently out there at the level of 36 Chambers or Madvillainy. However, I think Kanye is probably closest.

Giggs – I think he’s probably the best British rapper around, Take Your Hats Off is a bit samey though.

Very meh from me. Interested to hear more though.

Might have to listen to more, but it sounds similar to stuff like Wu Tang (as said above), Lord Quas, maybe even DOOM have been doing for a while, just without good production.

Oh, and the soft/commercial rap thing isn’t true. Lots of rappers coming through now who aren’t, CyHi, Yelawolf, Giggs, Pusha T (as a solo artist) etc etc.

On the footage of Kanye West’s Coachella set, someone is recording the whole thing on an iPad, which they hold up throughout the entire 1 hour 40 minutes set.

Frank from Once Upon a Time… is a great shout.

Steve Buscemi’s character in Con Air, that is a creepy performance.

People who record off the tv like that should be made to use tripods.

That was pretty good. The Fury of CREAM was the best on there I think.

Mystery of Stockholm needed more of Mystery of Chessboxin I think, seemed to miss the two best verses – ODB and Ghostface.

Hope the OP doesn’t mind if I ask this here, it’s too similar to start a new thread! I’m running MSE at the moment, would having that MalwareBytes alongside it be a good idea?

Derren Brown’s got a big section about them in his book. Really interesting.

Ambition is a beast, accomplishment is what I feed it.

Richard Rich – Run This Town

I feel the pressure, under more scrutiny. And what I do? Act more stupidly.

Kanye West – Can’t Tell Me Nothing

I have to say, the version of Too Many Rappers on the album isn’t as good as the single version released a while back. Prefer the Max Tannone remix too.

Vimes has to be Gary Oldman.

Carrot, maybe Damian Lewis? Or Tom Hardy.

I’d want to try the Ariel. Love the look of it, and I wasn’t completely blown away by the Pitch I rode in the Alps. Was average to be honest.

Most of what I was going to say has been mentioned but…

If you like DOOM/Quas, obviously Madvillainy, Dangerdoom, The Unseen, The Further Adventures of Lord Quas.

Mos Def, Talib Kweli. As a pair (Blackstar) and individually.

Wu Tang Clan, 36 Chambers is one of my favourite ever albums, just amazing. Also check out Ghostface’s Supreme Clientele and Apollo Kids. Raekwon (and Ghost’s) Only Built 4 Cuban Linx is good too.

Liking M.E.D. at the moment, in fact check out Stones Throw Records, loads of good stuff there.

Jay-Z, The Black Album needs a mention.

Kanye West, a lot of people don’t like him, but I can pretty much listen to all of it, College Dropout and My Beautful Dark Twisted Fantasy especially.

    Wow, long post.

If we’re talking music from westerns, then The Ecstasy of Gold from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly surely.

Still my favourite piece of music.

I agree with The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, that is an incredible film.

Need to throw The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford in as well. The whole film is amazing, and the train hijack is one of the most amazing scenes, visually, that I’ve ever seen.

Btw, Sofaking: Is that a reference to the Dangerdoom song of the same name?

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is the greatest film ever made.

Once Upon A Time… is fantastic though.
