i now get about 4 – 5 a year and they are truly awful.first time it happened i was in tesco and didn’t have a clue what was happening, started feeling sick and by the time i’d done a big shop and got to the checkouts i thought i was going to pass out.i’m a fairly big lump and thought i could handle stuff like that, always thought migraines were just headaches, not even close.
seems that a combination of tiredness and bright lights set mine off, only thing i can do is go home, get in bed and shut the curtains.they completely wipe me out and have now started to affect me the day after, like you it’s a hangover feeling and it’s always behind my right eye.migraines – utter shite

in my experience old biddies and respect are two things that don’t go together.
my old gran asked me one evening ”where are you going young sausage all dressed up like that?”
”taking mrs sausage out to that nice restaurant nan” i replied
”you’re always going out for something to eat,” she said with her best gummy smile,i closed my eyes and leant in for the granny kiss when she finished her sentence with ”no wonder you’re so fat!”

another vote for the dyson service.ours was absolutely buggered, engineer came round took it to pieces and rebuilt it with all new parts – motor, cyclone, wheels, filters the lot.it’s a bit like trigger’s broom but our dyson is 7 years old and it’s like a new un :D

Anyone heard about soda blasting? Reckon this would be a good idea for paint stripping? I’m doing my Cannondale one way or another.

i’ve had two frames soda blasted and i’d highly recomend it,just had another done this week and dropped it off at the powder coaters yesterday.frames have always come back looking brand new.
this was an real old dog of a kona frame, made from easton ultra lite,a quick buff with a scotch brite pad and it was looking sooper shiny – then i spoilt it by painting it :(

i think the super injunctions only apply to the uk.outside the uk it’s fine to print what they want, and they have.i think it was a french paper that named *footballer*,apparently in media circles the names are common knowledge – they just can’t print them

have a drive round until you see a skip outside a house refurb and have a word with the contractor, job done.i work on a lot of refurbs and we get asked all the time, most doors end up in the skips as ‘greedy boards’ anyway

i had to check who started the thread because that’s me all over.the mrs watches garbage on the tv and i sit there on the laptop so the erm ‘specialist’ sites have to take a backseat but i have about 5 or 6 forums that i just keep clicking away at getting nowhere and learning nothing but after a day on the building sites i’m not up for doing a right lot anyway

i did my own bike frame,i was off work with a broken foot and was bored.had enough bits in the garage to build a bike up so got on with it.had it soda blasted then used rattle cans,a few coats of etch primer,2 cans worth of colour and 2 cans worth of 2 pack laquer baked on with a heat gun.
i agree that powder coating works out cheaper and more durable,in fact i’m sending a frame off now for powder coating, but i fancied having a crack at it plus i did it to match my vespa :D

well, that didn’t quite go to plan.the 5p is now half the size it started out as and is well and truly stuffed down inside the bottom bracket.the cranks were being thrown anyway but i guess there’s a lot to be said for using the correct tool

fair enough but the plaster’s not going to be clean after scraping 25 year old paint off the walls

    sausagefingers
    Free Member

is there a damp problem in the room?
no matter how poorly sealed the walls were before there is no way that all the paint should come off leaving bare plaster.
if you are going to give it a mist coat then do it with a roller as ‘a big ol brush’ :-) will leave loads of brush marks that you will never get rid of no matter how many coats you give it.
if it was me i would line the walls and paint over it – proper job
