    i’m also in burnley.
plenty of places to go.if you’re looking for a lunchtime pootle then crown point isn’t bad – loads of manmade tracks, nothing too taxing, you can make it as long or as short as you want and can link it up with other trails as well

i’m just getting back into using mine after doing nack all for 2 years due to a recurring injury.
i find the c2 absolute agony being so unfit but i keep trying.i’m currently doing 4500m twice a day but my times are embarrasingly slow,i’ve hit the beer and piled the weight on so only feel comfortable rowing at home – can’t face going out on the bike much as i’m out of puff in no time but i’m certainly feeling better after a few weeks on the c2 so,fingers crossed, i’ll shift some lard and get back out on the bike :D
hats off to some of the times posted on here, impressive stuff

unfortunately my dad was very abusive to cold callers.
one evening i answered the door and it was someone selling upvc windows who i used to go to school with, hadn’t seen him for ages so we were arranging to go out for a pint.
my dad comes to the door ”get the f!”£$ off my property before i set the dog onto you and he’ll rip your f!”£$%^ face off” (we had a springer spaniel)

we didn’t go for that pint

    nobody mentioned xcom yet?

spent months on the original and thought this new jobbie would be a right load of gash but it’s fantastic.
no running about shooty/stabby fashion,it’s much more sedate than that, but still very tense – focusing more about strategy and planning.i haven’t turned my machine on for at least 12 months but this has got me hooked, can’t wait to give the multiplayer a go – superb

after a lot of online reading about wellies (can’t believe i just typed that) i bought a pair of muckboot tay sports.
very, very comfy and snug as a bug in a rug.
went for a good yomp yesterday and they were comfier than my walking boots
could’ve got them a bit cheaper online but bought them from a local supplier as i wanted to try them on

When my parents had their extension built, my dad had a small secret box room buit in to the cavity created by the recessed fire place. It was accessed by removing logs from the recessed log store and climbing up and in . Was shelved full height, about 1.5m deep and about 5m long.

    But it was there……

    is this your dad??

can’t believe i’ve just spent saturday night reading 9 pages about some bloke’s garage – brilliant thread

has anyone moved from the old shape (straight top tube) to the newer shape?
does it actually feel that much better?
i’m the opposite of the op,thinking of selling my 5 and going back to a superlight but was wondering if the new shape is a significant improvement

been at it 26 years now ( still waiting for something better to come along) and i recognise everything that’s been said above.i live in the north west and charge £130 a day.last few years have been the worst i’ve known by a long way but the last 12 months have started to really pick up and i’ve now got the luxury of a couple of months work in front of me which is a massive load off my mind.
i only live in a small town so used to know most of the decs.the thing that really grips my p**s is when i go in the merchants and there’s a ratty estate car with paint all over the bumper and a couple of herberts are at the counter ”wots the best paint for wood” – **** OFF and GET OUT!!
i went to look at a job today doing someone’s kitchen and she gave me the grand tour as she’d just had her stairs and landing done.what a mess, she thought it was fantastic – i didn’t have the heart to show her all the rips in the paper and point out all the pencil marks.
i never advertise as has been said, waste of time.
i’ve even took my number off the side of my van as i only got 1 phone call from it “i want a price for my lounge,it’s average size with a window and a door.i’ve papered the chimney breast so think of a price and knock 25% off” NOBHEAD!!!
all my work used to be for local builders,no private work at all.unfortunately it’s now the complete oposite, almost all private work “oooh, while you’ve got that brush out can you paint these few doors” NO I FOOKIN CAN’T,I’M ON A PRICE YOU STOOPID MUNTER

concept 2’s are absolute beasts,it’s not possible to go for a gentle row – it’s flat out, total agony, feeling sick and seeing stars when you come off it.it’s not an exercise machine – it’s an instrument of torture.it hurts too much to be boring
i hate getting on mine but feel great once i’m off it.buy a used one and you won’t lose money if you decide to sell it

That other thread’s great, but I reckon we can do worse than that. I’m going to set the bar pretty low with this shot of me.

Old roadie top from late 80s (worn when road riding v unfashionable) – check
    Lycra shorts – check
More pads than WC downhill riders wear – check
Ridiculously long camelbak hose poking out of old rucksack – check
Sitting down while riding a steep, techy bit – check

  classic! you big gayer !!

thanks for the replies, yes rings are slightly worn but not as much as the big ring.i’ve never had this before, would the worn rings cause this to happen?if the chain isn’t sticking it makes a loud ‘ratcheting’ sound which is worse on the granny ring

    thanks again
