Xcom Enemy Unknown, bloody brilliant. I only play it once or twice a week when I have time but it’s very in depth when you get into it plus there’s no rushing about, everything needs planning out, very easy to play with a pint in hand which is a bonus.
It’s the only game I’ve ever finished plus a new expansion has just come out for it

Just caught this on Sky,fantastic documentary – one of the best I’ve seen. I’ve no interest in snowboarding so had no clue who Kevin pearce is but this was truly excellent.
Not sure about the negativity towards Shaun White,I didn’t pick that up at all.The end titles being especially poignant.
An excellent documentary about an outstanding human being surrounded by great family and friends.

We went through the same with our Scottie 2 years ago.We unfortunately had a gobshite vet for the first few consultancies who insisted the blood in his urine was down to obesity and put him on a diet.No weight loss after 3 months so we insisted on a new vet who diagnosed cancer in the first 5 minutes.After the tests we were then given medication for the dog and told he would have 12 weeks maximum.He couldn’t even get out of his basket after 2 days of his tablets so we decided to let nature take it’s course and gave him his favourite food for meals – pork sausage,chicken fillets and white fish – the little bugger ate better than me and had the best 10 months of his life.
The hardest decision I ever had to make was deciding one weekend that enough was enough,I’m a fairly big lump but it’s making me fill up now thinking about it.

@ thomsonru84 – I’ve never used ESP on bare MDF.It’s quite expensive stuff and with the MDF being so porous it would just eat it up.
You can just use an acrylic primer which I’ve never had any problems with in the past or you could try a sanding sealer.Both will need a good sanding down before the eggshell goes on but will give you a good finish.
Obviously it’s all down to how you apply the paint,if you just larrup it on with a brush then you’re going to struggle.Get a couple of mini rollers,just use a brush for cutting in and take your time and you should be fine.Should be .. :D

Looks like a nice finish on the paint,I think you’ll get a lot of job satisfaction out of it when completed.Those soft close hinges are a nice touch.

I’ve just had my old Donohue road f+f done at Bob Jackson’s in Leeds.it was dog rough but looks fantastic now.
Charged me £165 for metallic green flam with decals,that included them blasting it

Had a couple of mtb frames powdercoated at Triple S in Bingley and they were very good and hard wearing and I just had a road bike frame n forks done at Bob Jacksons in Leeds and it looks fantastic

I’ll have a look in my van but I should have enough for what you need.
I’m on the lash tomorrow so if we can sort it out early,all the better :D

That one is off black with a 40% sheen laquer.To be honest it looked fine without the laquer but the customer insisted on it.Eggshell is very hard wearing so I wouldn’t bother with the laquer if it was my own kitchen.

All the best but forget doing it over a weekend,give yourself at least a day and half per coat after prep

To be honest you won’t see much difference between the two shades once on the cupboards.I’ve just done a kitchen in off black and it’s one of my favourites but I did find it was a bugger for drying which I put down to a lot of pigment in the paint.
The ESP was purely to give the paint a key and to be honest I wouldn’t paint a kitchen without it.Whereabouts are you? If you’re local I don’t mind nipping round and lending you some.Eggshell is perfectly fine to be used as an undercoat so don’t buy any extra paint just give it a coat of the black for u/c.

Them conservatory roofs look fantastic but I think the price would count me out.
I’ve been thinking about doing something with my roof for a while now.It’s nice and toasty in there but if it rains then the noise is horrific

Buy your stuff from a decorators merchant, it’ll be cheaper and better quality.
Just to reiterate that’s not my website, I just do the painting for him
Also, even when the paint feels dry it will need quite a bit longer to cure properly.

At last,something I actually know a bit about on here so I don’t have to make it up as usual.

Forget ‘cupboard paint’ stick with Eggshell as previously mentioned.
If you’re going over pine my advice would be ;

Wipe cupboards down using ESP Primer,this gives the paint a chemical bond to stick to.Works really well,I’ve been back to kitchens I painted 8/9 years ago and it hasn’t chipped or peeled at all.
Now straight on with the Eggshell.3 coats for a nice finish,lightly sanding inbetween.I prefer Farrow & Ball ( used to be terrible paint but the water based eggshell is fantastic ), it’s quick drying and very low odour.
You could leave it at that but I finish the kitchens with a water based laquer from Morrells,you chose the amount of sheen you want.
Apply the paint with mohair covered foam mini rollers,they don’t last long so you’ll need at least 2 for a kitchen
