    Thanks alexonabike, that's great advice.

There's a UK breeder advertising in our local pet shop who has all the relevant certificates, so I think I'll give him a call 🙂

My mum had one when she was little and loved it.

My Mum had one when she was little too. She used to put it into a toy pram and then take it over to the park, where she'd put it on the swings for a while 😯

alexonabike, so is it really time consuming? I'd really like one, but want to make sure I've the time to commit to looking after one properly before we get one.

I'm getting it MUCH worse this year. Most years I don't even notice it, but am sneezing all the time and eyes are itching like crazy.

I had one when I as a child and it 'ran' away

I just had an amusing moment picturing you running down the garden path, shouting "Quick everyone! It's very very slowly getting away!"

Do you remember having a vivarium inside for it?

Pete, we got Sky+ HD installed last week and it can't do that I'm afraid.

We keep getting little notices popping up saying that we can't carry on watching this programme as we are recording two elsewhere.

    Rubbish.

Perhaps he/she needs to spend some time in a field being "spiritual"…

I really don't understand the attitudes on this forum sometimes. So what if someone wants to stand in a field being spiritual? Is it hurting you? Why the need for the sarcastic eye-rolling?

I think that the people going to Stonehenge for Midsummer to get drunk and drugged up are turning away those who genuinely want to celebrate in a sacred place.

Many Pagans will be turning to other locations to celebrate this year. However, if some people want to celebrate by getting completely off their faces, then that is down to them – everyone has a different way of doing it!

EDIT: And also, just because some people don't believe that there is any meaning in the solstice, doesn't mean that those of us that do believe are wrong. Just means we've all got different beliefs and viewpoints! Ain't diversity and tolerance wonderful?

The solstice is an amazing time of year that is very special to some people.

And it's not all 'hippies, crusties' and drug taking. Midsummer is incredible and wonderful, it just depends on how the individual celebrates it.

I hope he's as amazing live as everyone says he is, enjoy yourselves and give a full report after!

Peppermint oil capsules after/before a meal and a low-fat diet. Even then you can still feel the effects sometimes, but it's the best way to control it for me.

    typical female response

Of course it is. Us ladies always blame our fantastic good looks whenever anything goes wrong in life.

Anyway, must totter off around the office in my high heels…. 🙄

It was more the Lucky Pancake that disturbed me, Summer was the one that got off lightly!

So glad you gave it a chance 🙂 Some people might say that you need to see him more than once, but if it didn't feel right and he wasn't making an effort then follow your instincts.

Well done to you and your sister 🙂

One of my sister's friends is called Lucky Pancake. Her sister is called Summer Blossom.

    Name FAIL.

approaching people like this results in one outcome. Them apologising for not realising how loud they were being.

    +1

I agree that most people would have just asked them to keep it down a bit. And it's not 'hiding behind an internet hardman persona' – I'm a girl and I'd feel quite comfortable politely asking someone to keep the volume/language down.

To the OP, I understand why you didn't pay, but I would have had a word with the group of blokes during the meal, and then the staff if the situation wasn't sorted.

I really like them, when you read the article it explains how they're for kids and how they're going to tie in with education in schools.

Better than the suggestion of "big ben with arms and legs"!

I met my man on a dating website 🙂

The things that attracted him to me was:

    a) He had 'normal' pictures but also photos of him mountain biking which was a really good talking point

    b) He was funny in his messages but wasn't trying too hard

    c) He remembered all the stuff I said to him and referred to things in later conversations, which showed me that he wasn't getting me mixed up with loads of other girls he was talking to 😉

    d) He took it slowly, messaged me for a few weeks, had a couple of phonecalls and then asked me out on a date.

    e) He was up front and told the truth! Very important…if you lie about yourself on a dating site, you WILL get found out eventually.

We now live together and have both never been happier (cheesy, sorry!). Does any of that help?

I drove past the well-known Portsmouth dogging area on the way home from a gig last week and the whole place was absolutely packed out with closely parked cars. And this was a Tuesday night at about 11:30!! Its all very visible from the main road!

I used to live in Portsmouth, and my mate lived about 10 minutes away from there. Every time I drove past, the place was packed!!

No idea who it appeals to…I never stuck around long enough to check it out…

Pirates? Movie Characters? Depends if you want something easy or not…

A good fancy dress idea is colours. Everyone comes in different coloured clothing and you have to swap clothes with other party goers until you are dressed entirely in one colour.

Is that ADHD thing genuine?? Because I got this:

It is highly likely that you are presently suffering from adult attention deficit disorder, according to your responses on this self-report questionnaire. You should not take this as a diagnosis of any sort, or a recommendation for treatment. However, it would be advisable and likely beneficial for you to seek further diagnosis from a trained mental health professional immediately.

    And now I'm slightly concerned….

I've had to take two days off work this week, because I can't afford the petrol to drive to work and back.

Saying that, I might not have money, but I'm still pretty happy. At least I'm healthy and I've got a roof over my head!
