I work for a small children’s charity and give monthly donations to Refuge (for those affected by domestic violence), Wildlife Trust and NSPCC.

As a charity, we don’t use the street collectors. I’m not a fan of them, and people tend to have a negative attitude towards them – we don’t want that associated with our charity!

I give to friends who are undertaking challenges, depending on what the challenge is!

Watching 24 Hours in A&E the other night and some poor lad had a black and blue penis after being crushed between a barge and a bridge.

When his Mum took a look at it she said “ooh, it’s like you’ve had a vasectomy!”.

Caused a raised eyebrow or two in our house…is this true? Can you really end up black and blue?

I don’t mean to be harsh or anything, but (from a woman’s perspective) if you like someone a lot, you’re never too busy ‘going to the gym’ to see them.

The beginning of a relationship, getting to know each other, is really exciting and fantastic. And she has decided that she’s too busy to see you for a few weeks.

Sorry to say this, but I think that might be a subtle hint on her part.

Erm…I hate to butt in, but we’ve only got a tiny wedding budget as it is…so you can only buy a bike with it if money is left over at the end!

    As you were gentlemen.

Personally, I would have a good giggle that this person has got nothing better to do than stalk you on Facebook and feel a bit sorry for them for being so pathetic.

Then I would carry on with my full and exciting life with a grin on my face, cos I? awesome and that 🙂

We did our Save The Dates with Vistaprint…if you’d prefer to use templates to design. If not, I’d agree with creamegg and get a free trial of photoshop or indesign.

Soma_Rich proposed to me at Handfast Point on top of Old Harry Rocks in Dorset, with a ring he had designed himself. We get married next August 😀

Okay, you've all convinced me!! This looks like great fun and I will be buying my ticket this evening 🙂

Although I may need to find a very light child…anyone got a tag-along they want to lend me? 😉

the nice thing about the bash is it is not centred around racing; it's more about fun

This makes me happy, I feel like I won't be judged!!

    I run the beer tent

Aha, the beer! Is there a fair amount of drinking in the evening or does everyone sidle back to their tents??

This has to be Nick with another login, right!!?

Erm, nope – I'm a girl! TBH, that's why I'm a bit worried about the races…it seems that all racing is really male dominated and I don't want to be pootling away at the bike with people poiting and laughing at me!!

Racing with kids sounds good though, thanks PP!

I've been going to biking events for well over a decade and I'd say it's the best event I've ever been to

    Blimey, that's high praise indeed!!

I'm a newbie and I've never actually raced at an event before…is it really competitive?

STW is not what it used to be – by now I'd have expected someone to set up a new login as 'Dave'

I was thinking exactly the same thing…disappointing…tut tut.

this is the singletrack version of the fast shows ted and ralph.

"Dave you really are a super rider"

"Well I don't know about that, sir"

Not sure what is more embarrassing; the way that my sentiment has been cruelly misinterpreted for your own frivolous titillation, or my abject failure to anticipate this.

I'd go with your abject failure 😉

Has Dave got in touch yet? Do you think you should post a list of your turn-ons and turn-offs?

You talk about 'falling at the final hurdle' but let's face it, she either likes you or she doesn't.

So ask her out for a coffee. If she says no, then you know she only sees you as a friend and you move on. If she says yes, bazinga!

    DO IT!

Southsea is actually quite nice, it depends what you're looking for…

I lived in Southsea when I was a single gal. Lovely flat on the seafront, free live music every weekend, farmers markets every month down Palmerston Road, walking distance to some alright bars and Gunwharf Quays. But Southsea and Old Portsmouth are the only nice bits really.

Towns just outside of Portsmouth are Chav magnets, Chichester is nice, quite posh and very expensive.

I live in the New Forest now, settled with my other half and am very happy, lots of forest, beach and a nice villagey atmosphere. Only a stones throw from Southampton town too if we miss the city.

    Tortoises for Dummys book

That sounds good, I'll get hold of that.

So, on the whole, everyone seems to have enjoyed having a tortoise as a pet, although some have found it a bit boring.

Anyone got any tips on what species to get?
