The Wire without a doubt. Can’t believe I haven’t watched it sooner. I have just finished season 3.

Make sure you start from season 1, well worth it.

Controversial one, Lost. I actually really enjoyed the last 3 series.

Or look at someone elses map as there probably will be about 1,000 walkers!

Don’t bother with Drumlanrig… they even charge £6 a person now and its fricken miles from the motorway.

But if you do go the black isn’t scary its just a few roots and steep uppy bits.

Personally I’d stick with Glentress (well worth two days of play) and then hop over the innerleithen, maybe do Kielder on the way home?

Not sure what you have done but ask yourself these questions and see what you can do to solve it.

Checked to make sure your drivers and PC/graphics card is up to date?

Got access to a wired connection? Test this to narrow down its a wireless issue and not hardware then troubleshoot from there.

Also what are you streaming? If its something big like HD it might just not like it (too much bandwidth) so try different sources if you haven’t already.

It’s a tricky one to solve over a forum but I hope that points you in the direct direction.

It’s pretty rutted in places and the conditions are constantly changing which is good as it keeps you on your toes 🙂

Did you try over the Monkey side? I prefer it as the descents are well worth the effort for all the extra climbs.

There is a lot of grumpy old men posts, I have to smile. 😀

Who cares about 4x4s, next people will say having a car that does more than 70mph is shameful because the national speed limit is 70 mph…

*shakes fist angrily* boo hiss Ferrari /rage

Pretty sure all the girls & boys at Jaguar-LandRover are more than happy people buy the cars they build. By the way 4×4 will get more economical I’ve seen the development theories JLR are predicting (just give it 5-10 years in R&D). If they crack it expect to see more BIG cars on the road.

Might be worth going into PC Wally World just to have a look at all the laptops (if you haven’t already!).

Reading the comments I don’t think spec is an issue. Blueray + decent graphics card is mega bucks, forget about it.

My Vaio is still running strong after 4 years the only thing I did was reformat it and reinstall windows to get rid of the trash that all laptops seem to come with these days…

Don’t get too hung up on the processors you honestly won’t notice the 0.2 seconds faster word load time. 😉

Have you considered saving a bit more cash and looking at a Mac? Well worth going into an apple store just to browse (just leave the wallet at home!!) some great little tools for photo editing.

Good luck, its never easy as the markets move so quickly. Maybe find reviews from 3 months ago and see if you can pick up a bargain now for a laptop that was 3 months ago the bee’s knees.

It’s well worth looking at the older shape Ford Mondeo too

    http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/ford/mondeo/hatchback-2000/

Ford really got it right with this model of Mondeo and there is plenty well looked after Mondeo’s out there to suit your budget. They are a bit “sensible” maybe even old man ish.

Nothing wrong with a 1.6l Focus tdi though the Mondy is just bigger!

I’ve had Sky HD since it first came out, love it. There has been several improvements over the past two/three years.

Just go in a shop and ask to have a play.

I’ve actually taken a link out since taking that photo.

It’s my ride to work it’s 34:16 I spin a little on one long flat but it get’s me comfortably up the hills and through the bridleways I tackle on way to work.

I really enjoy it compared to my geared bike, I don’t get to work knackered (I have a habit of getting the hardest gear and going as fast as possible), easy to clean, fun to ride in fact different style of riding its also helped my fitness on ups and I now use my brakes less because I’m trying to not lose speed.

It was also a fairly cheap build. Frame and forks off ebay the handle bar, stem and seat was bargains during January sales. Got a deal on brakes, wheels and cranks. I only spent £360, only luxury item was thomson seat post (factored in I’m 6ft 5 and 17 stone no point buying cheap seat post)

    Herman Shake,

Just buy both sets there is a deal on a pack of 4 sets (you can mix and match) and see how you personally get on.

I have the SS Kevlar on two sets of bikes, no problems at all (Avid Elixir 5).

    I went with this tensioner,

    http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=58&products_id=304

just because it was gold… (oooh shiny bits) it works fine no complaints but I guess it is £7 more than the one you listed so doesn’t confine to “cheap or similar price” spec your after. I don’t use a ring device at the front, no skips, nothing. (on one inbred frame for info).

    Cranks I’m using,

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=40914

I’m running 34 front and 16 back it spins a little on long flats if I get a decent speed but doesn’t kill me on the ups. To be honest it’s a really nice ride to work for me as I’m actually not as knackered. Where as before when I was riding with gears my legs felt dead. I guess it’s because I used to go for the highest gear every time and go as fast as possible! I now have a more enjoyable fun ride strangely and I have a decent day at work as my legs haven’t dropped off due to chasing roadies on my full suss like a springer spaniel on crack.

I echo the advice on cogs get some cheap ones until your happy with your cog size. Find somewhere with a nice climb and somewhere flat to test out if unsure.

In fact I’m enjoying it so much currently I might even buy some suspension forks and take it to my local haunt cannock (currently have rigid carbon).

What do frame only brands like Cotic offer us that the complete bike sellers such as Scott, Canyon, lapeirre, don’t. I really want a reason to go down the frame only route but don’t know why I should do this when you get such good spec these days on brands such as those stated above.

Think of it as “pimp my ride” you get to build your own awesome machine in any colour combination you wish. To the spec you want.

Sometimes it is cheaper to buy a complete package but not always. Have a look at On-One as a frame only type build, they put many manufacturers to shame price wise.

You could also buy a complete build and sell the junk off it you don’t want. If your after a short travel full susser Giant Anthem’s get my vote.
