Wonder if there had been a race on. I went about six weeks ago. Didn’t notice much.

Then again weather has been good and clocks changed, guess the fair weather litter droppers are back out!

I thought Glentress was pretty bad towards the skills areas. Full of kids and empty cans… thats my victor meldrew moan done for the day!

Times have changed you’ll struggle to earn more than an average wage without any qualifications. Best bet would be to set up your own business, start small online and go from there.

There are manual labour jobs though, supermarkets, farms etc. Its all grafting.

Personally I would advise you go to college and get gcse in english, science, maths at least first. You have your whole life a head of you few years study is nothing compared to the long term gains.

Depends what you want in life.

    All the best.

Not sure if its 3 hours from Manchester but Sherwood Pines is very new starter friendly. Not really up or down bit pedally but sounds like it suits what you’re after. Mixture of bearms and small obstacles, if you want to add miles do the blue also its nice and fast towards the end more natural than the red loop. (Red is a loose term not sure how Sherwood Pines get away with a red grade its quite tame).

Long drive but there is cafe, bike wash, theres some forest lodges too if you wanted to make a long weekend out of it.

Just wear awkward speedos and some ray bans, you’ll never have to go on a cruise again.

I had a face smashing off, oakleys went ping! After picking myself up and then my glasses I was pleased to see they just clipped back together again. Luckily no scratches on the lense too.

Pretty happy with mine after using them for the past year!

Good little tip to test the PSU, if your kettle lead is known working then plug it in to the socket on the PSU (when plugged into the mains) the fan will spin a few turns then stop if power is running to it.

If it doesn’t spin its kaputt.

There aren’t many good films on Netflix 🙁

Kinda enjoyed Lilyhammer tv series, Netflix do well for boxsets.

How did you get you on?

I was up at Emley Moor other day, saw lots of roadies having a rest.

I’m moving to the area does anyone have advice for off road routes? i’ve noticed lots of bridleways marked on the map.

I guess its been brewing for a while. The US got caught out spying on an epic scale and now Russia just do what they want.

Did wonder if we would have another Berlin wall type situation.

The magazines seem to be raving about it, not read a bad review as entry level bikes go.

One of MBRs long termer rides is a spesh fsr stumpjumper, available as 26″ or 29er worth a look judging by the reviews.

As with anything demo a bike first. You don’t buy a car without a test drive, same applies!

Ouch hope the other half recovers quickly and it doesn’t put her off riding again.

It is a shame but don’t let scum dictate your hobby. No man should be forced into knitting.

Doesn’t matter what you do thieves are thieves. Next they’ll just nick your shiny van.

You can put wall anchors in place, cables, big locks, cctv but even bike shops get hit.

I think the roof bar/rack argument is poor. Clearly fearful of being a victim.

Unless you know 100% you was followed keep quiet because it doesn’t help second guessing.

I’ve had a couple pairs of Merrells for years, Chameleons in fact. Done almost everything in them other than up a mountain.

I see someone had a bad experience but they never faulted for me, replaced the in soles once and they last another couple of years before I got another pair.

Just had a quick look and they do these also,

    Slightly different style.

Probably worth looking around see if you can get them cheaper.

Yeah its ok, not my thing really.

Bacon butty in the cafe was a highlight.

Didn’t think much of the north face red route, I really enjoyed the bridleways though. Great campsite nearby too.

How about just put some bricks in a rucksack?

You might end up looking like a beef cake though.
