Try Oakley UK. They sorted me out a few years ago on a new pair of lenses for a older frame that was no longer in production. They had limited options but better than nothing and their service was second to none.

Ive been with them for 2 years are due either renewal, upgrade or can leave if i want.

Think i’ll stay with them. Never had cause to use their customer service much so can’t comment, but when i have they’ve been fine. Even got an extra Gig of data out of them each month for a complaining.

Wifi calling is good also (only on certain handsets at the moment) and thats come in useful.

If you get a 4GEE extra account you can get faster 4G and use your mins and texts in Europe. (not data though).

    I’m happy with them!

Get a tracker / black box. My younger brother had one and saved a lot with it.

Another trick is to buy the full premium in one go on an interest free credit card; destroy the card but ensure you pay the fee : divided by 12 months. This way he gets it at cheaper rate ( as I believe you still pay more for spreading it over 10 months ) but can pay it back monthly. Worked for me for my first year of motoring when I was younger.

Now I, fortunate that my insurance is only £180!

Ah, so I’m not the only one…

Mine done this, so I took it back to Cotswold Outdoor who replaced the bladder no questions asked. The new one has been fine since but will remember these points when / if it leaks!

    Thanks for the replies.

Not happened since but I’ve not ridden since, just resting it from riding, but either way there’s been no blood thankfully.
No painful erections, so hoping it was a one off but will get the docs on Monday and get them to check it all out.

I’m in blakeney now! I brought my road bike, lots of quiet roads about. Relatively flat. Didn’t bother thinking about the MTB.

Dont come off the M58 at Switch Island, come off the M58 at J2, turn right down School Lane, over the railway bridge, left down Deyes Lane and then there’ll be somewhere there to leave your car and jump on the canal near to Maghull Station. It’s not a bad area so it will be fine.

You can pick up the Leeds to Liverpool canal within a few minutes from Maghull Train Station (Maghull Square) and you’re away! At commuting time, Bootle area will be quiet! Certainly in the morning i’d imagine.

Or you could come down the East Lancs Road from the M6, Park around Kirkby / Knowsley and ride down the rest of the East Lancs Road into town. I think there’s some cycle paths / lanes but not sure on the whole route though.

Maghull / Canal is best option i’d say.

MarkBrewer how did you manage to blag the pit access? Jealous! Would love to go there, hopefully next year. I’m off to the Belgian GP this year, and a few weeks back got to Oulton Park for the touring cars!

This..a Kawasaki KMB 450! No motor in sight. My dad spotted the advert in one of my bike magazines (MBR I think) . I was looking for a new ‘proper’ mountain bike but couldn’t afford much, I was still at school. My dad lent me the money £450!) and I repaid him through a summer job in an office furniture factory , putting rubber bungs in the end of table legs all day… 😯

I think Kawasaki tried building MTB and didn’t sell too well so they sold them off direct,

Anyway I thought it was the bollocks, Team Green, Ritchey dropouts on the frame, STX gearing and an RST fork with elastomers! Look at the size of that stem!

I was about 16 At the time and the bike enabled me to go off and explore and get into riding. Wish I’d not sold it, but when you needed an upgrade at 18 I had to sell it on for the money. This photo is not mine , one I found online.

    Good thread – thanks.

Suunto Ambit here too; use it for everything, running, riding, snowboarding, climbing and mountaineering. Battery lasts for ages (can charge it up via USB) and its simple to use.

My o/h has a 60 plate Note (n-tec version, so has nice creature comforts such as sat nav, Bluetooth, MP3 etc) from new and it’s a cracking car, well built, utterly reliable with no problems what so ever. It has a good spec and very comfy, with really good space inside; pretty versatile. The mean rear seats can slide forward or back ( like the front seats would ) to give more or less space in the boot. Cracking car. Hers is the 1.4 petrol so doesn’t meet your needs but the car itself is a cracker if you can find a diesel one.

The 1.4 petrol does have 5 gears though!

I myself have a new shape 3 door fiesta ( petrol ) and can get a bike in with both wheels off. Never needed to put more than one in so far,

I’d personally suggest a diesel note.

    Globalti…hmmm do I get one guess…. 8)

The bike doesn’t judder just squeals like a pig on the brakes. Don’t have a dish-washer (thankfully!) so that’s that option out.

I’m a scouser and I couldn’t care less about them. That idiot Macca goes on about Liverpool all the time yet he doesn’t live there anymore; in fact they all buggered off as soon as they had enough cash! ( I now live in Manchester…work reasons!) they are, however a big tourist attraction!

Awesome GTi. Independent VW (VAG) specialist. Good prices and well respected in the VAG enthusiast community for service / repairs and so on. I used to take my GTi there. Happy to recommend them.

Car park security is good there, staffed all day and night. Me and a mate got a day ticket as we had to get off early on the Saturday. Had a few shandies then got the last park and ride bus back and slept in the car in the car park and an early departure on the sat morning .

i went last year, just for the day unfortunately but lots of people just lugging kit on the Park and Ride bus to the campsite area, some had little trolleys! Really good festival, nice mix of music and other things to see. Fab location, decent bogs, not many half-wits from what I observed. Enjoy.

I have a standard Deezer account and very happy with it . Lots of new music but lots of different choice also.
You can sync music to your mobile device so you can listen offline / flight mode for example. I prefer it over Spotify.

Unfortunately seems i’ve been suckered in too by this fella too. Follishily transferred money to a dutch bank account (have the details) after posting a ‘wanted’ ad in the classifieds. Seems to good to be true, it often is.

Have his bank account details and email address. Will try and trace his IP.
