Garmin 235 here. Use it for running and riding. Bluetooth connectivity is good.

Blakeney is a nice quiet place , with a little going on a few nice pubs and places to be able to get out too.

Salthouse is nice. The BIL is the manager of the Dun-Cow. Food is good there .

Buckingham Palace (same as above…Duke of Edinburgh award). Didn’t need to go, but would be rude not to for a once in a life opportunity.

I got mine from ALA via pistonheads website for my 2016 VW Passat Alltrack. Cost of the car ( lease ) approx £40k and 2 years cover was only £112 with the code within The thread here :

    http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1488230

They pay out too… a colleague had her car lease stolen and they paid up within the week .

I’ve been happy. They’re phone advice line is very useful, if like me you are / were clueless!!

I used HL for the shares I have, but I was new to it so seemed a good option, but since then I know there are others about, cheaper fees etc. HL charge £11.95 I think for standard share dealing.

    Yes…me!

Done it last May whilst out running, leaped over a puddle, landed funny and foot went under…heard the snap…

Had to walk 500m to the nearest road for help!

I was in hospital for 4 days and pins and plates, and an air cast boot for about 5 weeks , crutches and total none weight bearing.

I don’t everything I was told to the letter, ate better, kept busy and rested. I was back running by October and back at half marathon distance now, faster and stronger than before.

Get some physio and keep it elevated .

    Get well soon.

I got my stuff yesterday after ordering on Saturday. Took a few days but arrived in good order…in a massive box for 2 pairs of gloves and 1 box of gels!

I had a camera down the japs eye a few years back following a bleed from there.
All very weird. 2 old girls messing with my todger to poke it through a hole in the Blue paper roll whilst the main man looked like super mario.

Squirted some numbing gel down there first at least!

The female nurse said ” the uncomfortable part is when it passes the sphincter” like she’d know. To be fair, she wasn’t wrong.

    All good in the end!!

Went before xmas and had a good weekend. Christmas markets were good for a visit but obviously now gone.

As above Stasi Museum was really good and interesting.

You can get the Berlin Pass card from the airport which gives free public transport travel which we found pays for itself , especially on the U-Bahn and S-Bahn.

    https://www.berlinpass.com/berlin-transport/

Reichstag is worth a visit and the Berlin Wall museum.

Besides that, just explore and see what you come across. Enjoy.

    Thanks for the responses folks.

Yes spent a bit of time there years ago and like others stayed on the American base…pizzas, steak all at USD prices! When then exchange rate was worth it!

Difficult to get into after 9/11.

Sorry, just using one place as a base – not booked yet… either Garmisch or grainau.

Will be staying in one place and should have a car to get around a little.

The huts to stop at en route are for lunch etc.

Something for the Wednesday afternoon – maybe a wander around Eibsee.
    Full day Thursday
Friday morning before heading up to Munich.

    Cheers

I come across a thread on here a while ago, i was suffering with erm ‘chaffing’ , but i managed to get some UnderArmour ones that have the bits you require. Quite pricey but been comfortable since. Sports Direct generally have them on the cheap.

It’s not a free for all in this data, it does go though rigorous application measures and the likes of proportionality and necessity are assessed. It’s nothing new.

I’m a little behind the times now on climbing kit but know there’s a few on here.

UK climbing website is always worth a look.

I’ve had the carbon supersix and personally found it rather uncomfortable with the race geometry, which is not what I do.

Got rid and got a synapse which I prefer . I only do road rides occasionally and the super six was a bit like a magpie bike…nice and shiney so I bought it. Lovely bike but not for me.

I’ve used them for 15 years and wouldn’t be without it . The membership also allows discount hut use and reciprocal rights. The insurance I’ve thankfully not needed but gives a good level of cover.

General admission ticket is what you need, not overly expensive . Great weekend away to watch the race and support races.

Take some fold up camping chairs and a ruck sack with food / beers and you’re good. They’re happy with you taking your own beers in. Go and see Eau Rouge, amazing to see the, going flat through there.

Really good weekend, been past 4 years but not this time sadly.

Good atmosphere , loads of Max Verstappen fans! Take care driving to / from circuit, cops all over the place with speed guns.

Enjoy and get lots of photos!

I broke my ankle in May and had two pins and a plate put in. It was the Talus bone I broke and ligament damage also.

The consultant said he prefers to remove them as where they are and the amount of stress then *can* snap , and he says after two months they’ve done their job. He will leave the plate in though. I’m having them out on 8th August with a local anaesthetic. ( awake!) consultant said there’s no reason why I can’t get back to doing the sports I was doing before I broke it. I broke my ankle fell running.

I was using my turbo trainer after 6 weeks of none weight bearing and walking on it now. I feel my ankle is some what restricted and feel pin removal should help with more flexibility,

If using ALA for GAP insurance either get it via Quidco or insert the code ‘PISTON12’ for discount! (from Pistonheads forum!)

Hope you have a good time. I went last year and loved it. I travelled from Manchester the night before and got a pub B+B about 15 miles away from Goodwood…up and out early to get there handy. The local lanes and villages are well signposted for FoS, but it does get busy. The main parking is a big field and does get a bit busy trying to get in to the site. I’d suggest setting off as early as possible to get there and parked up and make most of the day.

Take some ear plus if you’re sensitive to noise but otherwise enjoy the sights, sounds and smells!
