A few years ago in work, we had this old instant messaging system, where you could send an instant message that would pop up on the recipients screen. It was supposed to be for the IT bods, but me and a mate "found it". You selected the recipient by their staff number. Anyway after some tame messages to my mate at the other end of the office, I typed "your mother sucks c***s in hell". Only sent it to the HR Manager by mistake! My staff number along with the message popped up on her screen! Oh it was my lucky day as the big boss was off and my line manager gave me a lesser telling off whilst laughing her tits off.

Put the car on http://www.pistonheads.com classifieds section – it's free and gets a lot of traffic. I've bought and sold a car on there, worth a go for 10 mins of your time!

Forgive my ignorance, but what does a polarising (or any other) filter do?

    Cheers.

No to be fair Kirkby is not a bad place, it's where I grew up and will always be home. As always, there's crap places everywhere, suppose it's the people who make it what it is…

Yes not instant coffee, but if i have one from a high street shop, normally Costa, I generally need a poo within half an hour.

Not speeding but driving in a bus lane a few years ago on Salford Crescent. Tried to nip down the bus lane to take the filter lane for when I wanted to turn left and there was a copper hiding behind a lamp-post. Asked me "why do you think i've stopped you?", I said "for driving in the bus lane". I was honest! He said as i'd admitted he'd have to give me a fixed penalty! Should have acted dumb!

Stockport is my local station and never found it a problem. Clean and tidy and plenty of trains! And if you like there's a WH Smith!

I was in the same dilemma over the same 2 bikes a year or so ago, as were a few others – they seem to be matching rivals. In the end went for the SC but the 5 was good too.

Cheers folks – there's some bike shops near work in manchester (Evans) so will pop up there and try some bikes to get an idea on sizes of road bikes.

got one the other week following an update from the N96. Pretty good but some basic functions missing, like the alarm does not work if the handset is switched off and you cant delete all your texts at once! But good, plenty of good features. Get one.

It's good, there's a big one here in Stockport. Get things like cheap baselayers for about £6.00 and microfleeces for about the same. Good for little things, nik-naks and the like! And like others have said you end up coming out with all sorts!

A few years ago we were going up the lakes on the M6. The guy who's driving is a complete joker so you could not believe a word he said. All of a sudden, "oh poo one of the bikes has come off the roof"….yeah yeah we thought…Oh no. My mates bike in the fast lane of the M6! Hit by a flying Mercedes, driver just carried on! Police had to recover the bike, shut the motorway for 10 mins. 3pts and £60 fine…Ouch!

my folks made me pay a third of my monthly wage when i first got a job – they let me keep my first months wage as a treat, but after that it was £160 per month from £500 per month wage, 12yrs ago. They did not increase it when i got promoted etc although i did offer. I also paid for the odd take-away etc.

i'm a geek and wash the car probably once a week. Keeps it clean and protects the paintwork and makes the glass easier to look out of in the sh**ty weather!

Stayed here last weekend, it was ok, in need of a bit of modernisation but if that dont bother you then it's handy for Dalby – literally 5 mins away and they have secure storage faciilities (a garage!) but I left mine in the car round the back, no bother. The lady is nice there and they do a cracking breakfast and with it being in a tea shop, some good cakes too! £30 pppn.

3 pubs in the village and would reccomend The Hall for food – very good food, good portions, decent price and lots of good real ales ! I think the Hall Inn may have rooms too (not the old folks home either!)

    Si

    Worth a look!

i thought the actual vehicle had to be insured before you drive it on your 3rd party insurance.
