We’ve had a Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1, does all of the above and been faultless for the past 6 years.

Starting to slow down now and would happily get same.

Thank you @kayak23 , you are clearly a witch.

Will take some getting used to, it’s looong.

First ride was not ideal as rear brake seized on which was far from optimal, spent more time fettling with that than paying attention to the bike.

Will have a proper play this weekend once i’ve fixed the brake.

I’d just fitted some new bearings on the Codeine and noticed a sticker/crack on the chain stay. I’d post a photo but i’ve had enough shame for one day in attempting the voodoo photo posting.

Having never gone through this process before, is there anything i should be aware of? Do cash settlements normally match the actual cost of repairs? etc.

Typically yes, will cover the costs BUT, if anything un-expected transpires you may fall short. On the plus side, if you get it done under budget, win.

Can you live in property while works are underway? You may have cover for alternative accommodation/temporary storage of your contents, check your policy documents.

The loss adjuster is not your friend and is appointed to represent the insurer, keep this in mind.

Huzah! Old adaptors have fixed the issue, expect was 135 adaptor on the old wheel.

    Cheers one and all.

Cheers guys, will persevere and swop adaptors.

Tried pliers yesterday and lent my vice to a buddy, hence LBS.

Fingers crossed will come back all happy.

Do we still need to do the double post thingy?

    A hoy hoy.

You don’t need to do the odd two post thing, fancy!

@paulhaycraft, cheers. This will likely cause me forgetting to charge my lights even more.

Slight hijack, is the rule regards don’t fully charge same with all li-ion batteries?

Just thinking about preserving my exposure batteries, better not to fully charge unless you know you’re riding that day?

Cheers one and all, those Hunts look good. Found the DT Swiss eMTB ones too (HX 531) which are plenty wide.

Now the big question, are non matching rims the work of the devil?

That’s weird, posted this morning but only just shown up. Ho hum.

Need to get back up running pretty quick so reckon Halo may be the way to go.

Tempted by the cheap carbon but 4+ weeks is too long.

May just buy a none odd 32 hole wheel and sell the Hope hub.

    Cheers guys

A well timed post OP, split my rear rim last night and was just bout to come on here to ask what to replace it with.

EX511 look like a good choice.

Have been hovering over the buy now button for one of these for ages (or Ribble Endurance).

Looks ace. What size is it/are you OP? I’ve just on the cusp between L/XL.

Miss my old Day One and second hand prices are crazy. Always on the look out as perfect bike to nip to the shop/play with the kids.

Our we chap has just turned 8 and of similar beanstalk proportions.

Could have got him on some 26″ frames but opted for 24″.

Reason, it fitted better and being thrifty, his little sister would more than likely not make the jump from his previous bike to 26″.

    No right/wrong answer.

Watching with interest, in the market for a nicer road bike than the current commuter.

I’ll add Dolan to my list but like the OP, want disc.

Ribble Endurance but not SRAM so out for OP.

Was tempted by the Giant TCR, a chunk more (£2200) for 105 but does look/ride ace.

I’ve a Sony SRSXB22 which ticks all of the boxes.

Spends most of it’s life plugged into my PC at work but is portable/battery powered. It didn’t come with a plug in charger but is the same port as majority of my lights so just use these.

I did the same on my on-one Codeine. No regrets, 30 minute job.

Used the same grommets as above.

I didn’t do the tidiest job but the grommets hid the poor drilling.

Was a pack of three so you’re welcome to have one gratis, just pm me.

Hammer frozen sausages into your own garden to cheer the wee lad up.

    sandwicheater

Had something similar at the end of our home retaining our garden from neighbours drive.

What little i could find implied it was retaining my land so my problem and wall was predominantly on my land.

Bit more substantial in height (140cm) but only 8m long.

    We paid £4,000

    BUT

that was just materials/building and did include 8m of fence on top. We dismantled the wall, dug the garden/earth back 50cm and dug the foundation ditch for its replacement.

Don’t underestimate how labour intensive it will be to prep the ground before ready to build a wall.

We had quotes from £8k (still us doing the clearing) to £17k (they did everything).

I’d not let it put me off buying the house.

I keep thinking my Timber bell has broken but nah, it only works well when violently shaken.

This. Does often clog up with filth so does get quieter on occasion in the winter slop.

Wanted to love it, bit meh.
