What DrP said, this would make me happy. Though that does sound much like a taxi now and i still use my own vehicles.

Driver a van but as little as possible, mixture of bikes/train mostly.

That may be just the ticket.

Cheers, I’ll have a measure of my current seat.

    Any other seats to consider?

Been meaning to get a new head for my MM after loaning to FIL.

He must of used the valve to butcher a gibbon as it’s been crap ever since.

Been like that for five years or so and i keep forgetting, this is a handy reminder.

    Yep, true story.

We went with some snuggly headphones, have sound limiters so good for the ears.

We went basic and got a headphone jack splitter so they could share a device.

Cheap and cheerful and still work fine after a couple of years of abuse.

Cheers for the email/post, had forgotten to donate to the just giving page.

Looks like the JG page is a little lite, maybe a email to remind everyone?

I like them, have on my MTB and road shoes but only as they happened to come with the model that was on sale.

Thought they would gum up in winter but never missed a beat, maybe 5 years old on the MTB shoes.

Have ripped one off after a crash, was easy to replace.

I’d go for them again if similar price but likely not pay over the velcro version.

But that won’t feed my itch for new kit.

Go away with your sensible comments, mumble grumble just want new things mumble grumble.

I’ve a pair of Endura singletrack shorts (2 maybe) that are just ridiculously short.

I do in their defence have long thighs(worst humble brag)

Been using the USE plastic one for the past 19 months and no death has ensued.

My spidey senses were tingling when i got it, just seemed wrong.

    No idea about carbon, sorry.

Took the plunge and fitted myself to a new frame.

Not sure it would be any fun if the bike is already built.

I enjoyed the process, did an OK job, got steadily worse as the beer levels increased.

GAP for me. Tried loads of other brands and GAP fit the best/good length.

You may differ. I’m 34-34 with masterful calf’s which seem to cause an issue in some chinos.

Are you claiming against the third party insurer or your own insurance?

Your own insurance may provide cover for new for old (check your contract) but the third party have no such requirement.

Re the BACS thing. I’ve always called any bank transfer BACS much as I call why suction based cleaning device a hoover.

I think very much this, all our business stuff ask for bacs payments but its just an electronic payment, faster/chaps or what ever. If they’ve given you the sort code/account number just crack on via your personnel account.

In regards settlement, when i’ve seen settlement offers from finance firms (i’m in the insurance game, receive them relatively often after total loss claims) they just have the total owed, never seen one with calculations. You’ll need to press for that but should be able to work out from your contract.

I had similar with my 800, frequent soakings/death and it always came back after a week in a bag of rice until it didn’t. True story.

Computer/s didn’t recognise and you could see port you could see rust/blue copper ‘stuff’.

Sold as spares and repairs for £20 and picked up a 820 for £70 ish. Not having to sink via a cable is great.

We went for most cover (Pet Plan) with an idea to cancel at year three provided nothing popped up that was going to hang around. May keep a cheap as chips policy in force for liability to others but will save the rest, maybe a premium bond.

Is it time to forget it?

Maybe. As above, it’s about how comfortable you are with risk.

Flip a coin OP, it’s as good as you’ll get.

Reminds me, our dog is just about to hit 3 and with no issues to date we discussed knocking PetPlan on the head and saving the cash. I like the premium bonds idea.

Waves hand to join the rubbish club.

Tear in both knees, right locks now and again.

Was offered surgery but opted to manage myself.

Have found if I keep up with exercise and physio at home i can keep it in check. Bike fit and cleat position helped. Still get issues if i’m a bit lax on the exercise front.

OP, Duncan from this parish (and BIL) is your way and a joiner. Recently showed me a photo of a wardrobe not un-similar to your drawing (well, half of it) that he made.

You mind if I pass on your info for him to DM you?

Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One, enjoying it.

Have the final Expanse book (Leviathan Fall) by James Core to start when i’ve finished the above.

Booked marked this as need to cast my net passed all the sci-fi nonsense i usually read.

You’ll have a blast (as you likely know).

We (the Mrs & I) did it some 20 years ago on a tandem un-supported. Borrowed the bike from a buddy and foolishly never got around to riding it until we started at Lands End. Did no training, idiots. Camped all the way and had a hoot of a time.

As above, just take it easy at the start, you’ll get stronger and by the end will be knocking out 100 miles by mid day with sort of ease.

Washing up liquid for me. Works well although I use a proper degreaser on the drivetrain when required.

    This for me too.

Welcome to the club, love our gas Ooni.

As above, just cut off the one supplied and use your existing gas canasters.

I feel much like a puppy post, you should post a photo of your first (well, maybe your 4th) effort.

Happy eating. Nothing like the pizza sweats after too much of the good stuff.

Cheers one and all, I’ll have a chat with the guys tonight.

It is a small woofer type affair as the one he showed me fit in the boot/wheel arch gap (boxed in).

I was concerned i’d be that knob at the lights with the big bowel inducing ‘HUUUUD’ but if it makes for a better/clearer sound without the knob bit, all good.

Not thought about putting it under the drivers seat. No plans to convert to a camper so that space is free. Would I always have the feeling I need a poo with all that base at my back door?
