Football has always been a sport played on both the pitch and in the stands.

not since cctv in grounds. Admittedly there has been organised trouble in the vicinity but not inside the stands for a long time.

. I get offered tickets all the time for matches in home and away ends.

So they were sold to Wolves fans by Albion fans?
Then I’m sure they will be traced and banned. Idiots!!

Well that was a bit embarrassing for both clubs!! You would hope that both sets of supporters could behave themselves.
It begs the question, how can you purchase tickets for the home end? I thought club membership made it impossible?
Any way, if we draw Maidstone at home then the magic of the cup is very much alive and well. It would be special to have big George back at the Molineux.

The baggies fans definitely playing their part.
We’re in for an interesting second half, they have to come out and we love playing on the break.
The atmosphere on the TV is great, must be unbelievable in the ground!

I got up early to get a ride in before the big game.
Really looking forward to this, may the best team win with no stupid VAR.

Hired a bike when we stayed in Monte san Savino in Tuscany and I loved it. Lots of quiet roads and the motorists I did encounter were very respectful.
Beautiful countryside with countless cafes and coffee stops.

We live in a solid brick cottage with old sliding sash windows and have a dehumidifier running on low all winter. The amount of water I empty from it is incredible but the house warms up quickly when the heating is on.
I still have to vac the condensation from the windows every morning but it would be a lot worse than without the dehumidifier. It really makes a huge difference.

It’s really sad to read this. The only thing you can do is focus on all of the happy memories you have shared. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with.
    I feel you pain. X

    Lincolnshire Wolds is beautiful.
I have a mate in Horncastle and have been on some memorable rides that part of the country.

There’s a road from the beach up to Kelling Heath which is as steep as anything I’ve found on the Yorkshire Dale’s. Admittedly, is not a big climb but it’s properly steep.
I first found out towing the two kids and all of the beach and picnic kit back up to the campsite! 😀

Peddars Way is a lovely ride to get a feel for the place. You get a bit of the Brecks and then the rolling countryside up to the coast of North Norfolk.
You might have a problem with logistics having the van.

The bottom line is that unless folks like yourself make the sacrifices to take on young people and everything that they bring then their future is going to be way more challenging.
You have definitely not failed him and the relationship you have formed will mean he has someone in his life he can call on for help and advice when he needs. I know from experience how important this is.
Please don’t be hard on yourself, your family has made a massive positive contribution to society.

    Havent got ‘out there’

    It’s probably just as well.
Finished work at 3.00 and decided to get out for an hour in the last daylight and it wasn’t pleasant, in fact it was so cold my feet and hands were painful when I got home.
    Enough to put you off.😀

It was a team effort with Miss sandboy (baker in da house) making the dumplings.

As they say, the proof is in the eating and I can confirm that it went down well. Cheers @binners!IMG_0147

Just beautiful! I can only hope that good health allows me to carry on. I believe the key is trying to maintain what I have for as long as possible. As Matt says above, we can only hope!

@binners – cheers for the heads up.

I’m going to ride to the butcher’s first thing and get it cooking before work.

l’ve not had liver and bacon in years! That’s another one I’m going to try. It’s definitely the weather for slow cooking.

^^^ I’m going to do that for dinner tomorrow night.
just had a look at the recipe and only need to get a ham hock from the butcher.

it’s quick to throw together and really delicious!

edit, You might need some spices if you’re not a curry cook.

this is also a super curry that I chuck in the slow cooker.

@ton- get whatever you need from Exposure. My Diablo is ancient but still has great battery life. Absolutely the best and you have their back up for any repairs. Not the cheapest but you can get it refurbished and then hand it down to your grandkids.

My 2006 Trek OCLV frame and forks still gets ridden regularly. It the basis of my nice weather winter road bike and still rides amazingly well.

Admittedly , it’s been very well loved and looked after over the years.

If you can still purchase drawer fronts that match the rest of the kitchen then I’m sure a decent chippy would be able to make some drawers and fit some runners to fit the existing unit.

Otherwise it would be a real ball ache to fit a new carcass into an existing kitchen with the sink and plumbing to work around.

After a PSA on here years back, I upgraded my BB7’s for Juin Tech cable/hydros on my CdF and they have been very good. You notice a difference when using full hydro but much better than the old brakes.

I really can’t decide on a favourite. I have just spent half an hour trying!
They are all fantastic but very different and I simply can’t choose which one is the best.

It’s a great idea and I have loved looking at all of the entries. Big thanks to Matt and Hannah.

Definitely hire a bike in Mallorca. Get something high end and treat yourself. You can book in advance, where are you located?

If I had carried out a patch repair (I would never advise this) using a good quality torch on felt then I’d be happy to say that the repair would still be sound twelve months later. As I said above, most probably the roof will now be leaking in another place. Such is the way with a flat roof.
Edit, if access is just by ladder, I wouldn’t be put out if a customer asked me to have a quick look when I’m passing by. Might be worth a polite phone call to get an informed opinion.

It’s very difficult to assess the condition of the roof as a whole without photos. How old is the flat roof? Is there standing water left after it has been raining?
My guess is that the roofer repaired a section of the roof that was obviously in need of repair which would still be sound but the roof is now leaking from another part of the roof.
Flat roofs are very unreliable at best but if done well, should last 25-30 years.
You must also appreciate that a good chunk of the £500 would be for access, scaffolding and the time to erect it needs paying for.

It stopped raining for a couple of hours so I went out with the dogs and came home when it started raining again. Looks like I’m still going.

It’s not a bad habit to have developed 😀

I think this is exactly right. Since I turned fifty, I have tried to exercise for an hour every day. Obviously you miss the odd day but I believe that keeping it going is a major benefit to my overall health and fitness.
Just trying to maintain what I’ve got for as long as I can.

I’ve still being at it, a run with Jnr on Christmas Day and I couldn’t help enjoy the balmy weather yesterday so went out all morning for a bike ride.
We’ve guests here now and it’s raining hard so I think today might be my first day off.
It’s great to read everyone’s posts and the positivity this challenge brings. It makes a big difference to my wellbeing at this time of year.

I made four curries yesterday for a Christmas Eve get together with some mates. There is loads left over and the kids who have just got up have decided they just want leftovers instead of the fore rib I had planned to cook.
I should have stayed out for a longer bike ride, might get out again later?

Early Christmas present for Wolves. I was hoping for a draw so three points is great.
Chelsea very poor, especially once they went behind.
It was nice not to have any VAR controversy!

I dragged Jnr out of bed for a run, just back home and happy to have made it to the end. It hasn’t been easy this year but I have managed to stay healthy which was my downfall last year.
A very big well done to everyone who has had a go, wishing you all a great Christmas and a day off!

At last, a bike ride! Still very blustery but went out this morning for a couple of hours. Hard going against the wind but feeling much better for a pedal.

Again today, too windy for cycling so I did an hour of weights this morning in the hope that it might improve later. No such luck so the dogs have enjoyed a two hour walk this afternoon.
Let’s hope the wind has died down by tomorrow!

Way too windy for bike riding to be enjoyable so it was double extended dog walks both first thing and this afternoon. It’s a shame it’s still so windy as it’s mild and clear, lovely for a night ride.

Decline Jnr’s invitation for a run last night, no point in overdoing it this late in the game!
Finished my last job by midday so had a lovely road ride this afternoon.
I have just been informed that although everyone is now on holiday, I’m free all day tomorrow. Might be nice to mark the Solstice with a long ride. If the forecast is dry, could be on the cards.

Nuno did a great job at Wolves and was loved by the whole city. I was bewildered and sad when he left but I think he really suffered during the pandemic being away from his family and in the end, lost his way.
I sincerely wish him all the best at Forest.
