Yesterday I had to drop the van at the garage so took the bike and cycled to work then later rode back to pick it up. Two hours of cycling and in the evening took the dogs out for a walk under a very bright moon.

Went for a run first thing and planning a weights session later on.

I did some with my boy when he was younger, just locally and usually off a bridge. My neighbour purchased the magnet from eBay but got bored of it very quickly.

The first time we went, Ha caught a key which in turn got his imagination running wild as to what the key was for and how it ended up in the river, other items caught include coins, a large rusty knife and a replica hand gun which again triggered a lot of thought.

it was fun, but we both got bored after a few trips out.

Lower back pain had gone when I woke up this morning so I have just been out for a run. Hoping to do something else later today even if it’s just a long dog walk.

Saturday was a run first thing and an hour of weights in the afternoon, yesterday was a struggle. Got up but just couldn’t get going, sat watching television, yawning and nodding off!!

Decided that if I didn’t get out and do something, the day would be a right off and I would beat myself up for wasting a Sunday. The weather was lovely so I went out on the gravel bike trying to link some newly found byroad’s together with the odd road or farm track. Was out for a couple of hours and it made all the difference to my mood.

I ran again this morning but as the day has gone on, I have developed a nagging pain in my lower back. Going to try some gentle stretches later after cooking dinner.

A beautiful afternoon for a bike ride, I can see these Poets day rides becoming a bit more commonplace between now and Christmas.

A nice easy jaunt out to the Fens and some shopping on the way home.

Another extended dog walk last night after a second day of hard labour! I have total respect for roofers, very physical job and out in all weather.

Felt totally broken first thing but decided to go for a run and weirdly felt energised after having breakfast.

Hoping for an early finish tomorrow finding time for a nice ride in the afternoon.

Mrs sandboy (primary headteacher) has a bigger problem with parents than their children.

Unrealistic expectations of what the school can do to make up for their parenting shortfalls and the insistence that poor behaviour is a consequence of a learning difficulty are big challenges for her and the staff.

Budget cuts have resulted in her not being able to employ enough support staff to help with the ever increasing number of children with learning difficulties but she’s convinced that PPP (piss poor parenting) is at the root of most children’s problems.

When I was about eight years old, my Grandad had a joinery workshop next to where he and my Dad had their allotment. On Saturdays when they were growing vegetables, I was allowed in the workshop given free reign over the woodworking machines!!

The only thing I wasn’t allowed to use was the spindle moulder because my Grandad deemed it too dangerous!! For the record, I still have all my digits which is more than can be said of my uncle.

    How times have changed.

Yesterday was a challenge in itself!!

I single handedly carried over five hundred roof tiles onto a scaffolding, carrying five at a time meant for quite a few times up and down a ladder. By the time I got home, the only thing I could manage was an extended dog walk for just over an hour.

The best of it is that I’m going to have to do it all over again today, only today forecasts rain all day!!

My usual run this morning and I have just completed an hour of weights straight after getting home from work.

I always thought that my run which is the furthest perimeter of our village was about 5k after Jnr who is a regular runner estimated it. Turns out it’s a bit more, being measured at 7.3k. It takes me around 35 minutes on a good day, I’ve no idea if that is good or bad for a fifty something with dodgy knees?

I didn’t get the opportunity to go for a ride yesterday so was doubly determined to get out this morning.
The weather was perfect but my legs were still sore from Friday and it was hard work riding into a stiff breeze.

Thirty mile gravel ride through lovely Norfolk countryside in the sunshine.

After a really tough working week , having got soaked more times than I can remember I decided I needed an early finish yesterday. Had a lovely two hour road ride in the bright autumn sunshine. Pushed it a bit and definitely feeling it this morning!

I was planning to run this morning but decided an extended dog walk would be more beneficial to my aching legs. Two hours walking along the river bank, I needed my breakfast when I got home.

Hope to get out for a ride later but have some Dad’s taxi duties first.

Yesterday I did an hour of weights after work and this morning I’ve been for a run.

It’s really cold this morning but at least it’s not raining!

Sunday was a much needed recovery day with a long dog walk along the beach followed by a pint or two (wife driving).

Yesterday I road for an hour and half after work in the rain and run this morning, again in the rain. The forecast for tomorrow is better?? I’m fed up with getting wet.

Just back from an hour on the road. First night ride of the season and I loved it!

I feel much safer riding road at night and had it not been for this challenge,I’d be sat watching Strictly for the sake of it!

A run first thing yesterday in horrible conditions was the start of a hectic Friday.

I spent the rest of the day erecting scaffolding at my parents house for roof repairs today. I’m counting that as exercise, I can barely move this morning!

The plan was to ride this evening but having got soaked while working this afternoon, the last thing I wanted was another.

Decided to do an hour of weights instead.

We live in a three hundred year old, solid brick wall cottage and have a dehumidifier running on low most of the year and it has cured all of the damp and black mould we used to get especially on our gable walls.

Dry air is easier to heat so the running costs are offset by reduced heating costs.

It’s strange how you can feel completely drained one day and then suddenly on it the day after.

Today I did my usual morning run followed by 30 minutes of sit ups and press ups all before 7.00!
Worked all day then went out for a bike ride, an hour and half along the river, tranquility, wildlife and most importantly, no traffic.

Came across Minty and a few of his mates

Yesterday the plan was for a nice easy recovery ride but the wind was so strong it made it impossible! Took the dogs for a two hour walk after work and then did some stretching in the evening.

Just back from my morning run, hopefully get out on the bike later.

I still use mine on the local single track. As above, not the quickest by any means but always fun! It always amazes me how much speed you can carry into corners and the tyres always grip. The only time they didn’t was when I aquaplaned a fairly deep ford!

Another early morning run, third consecutive day which is unusual for me. Followed by an hour of weights and body weight training.
I’m planning to take it easy for the rest of the day and enjoy watching the football with a beer or two this afternoon.

I managed to get out this afternoon for a couple of hours, a bit of a history/mystery tour.
Along the river Nar, then I found a very broken concrete strip which turns out to be a Second World War decoy runway for nearby RAF Marham and then Pentney Abbey which is unfortunately private access.

Very nice afternoon to be out!

Yesterday I did my 5k run first thing and then the same this morning.

Hope to get a ride in later today, just need a window of opportunity between Dad’s taxi service!

I was lucky to finish at lunchtime today so made the most of my free afternoon with a three hour road ride to see the parents. Block headwind on the way there, followed by an easy spin back.

It’s a good thing I did a 5k run before breakfast because the day has flown by since then!

I did an hour of weights first thing and this afternoon I had to go and look at a job so decided to go on the bike and enjoy the weather, went on the road and came back along the river. Another hour and a half on top.

I’m sorry but I really can’t be arsed with Strava. I’ve been riding bikes since my teens and never had it and definitely don’t need it now!

Besides, the last thing I need is a record of how much time I spend on a bike, the wife might see it.

I count extended dog walking, it’s additional to the normal.

As the challenge progresses, I need days of active recovery. Walking is essential.

I’m in, not really stopped, it’s definitely become a daily habit.
This challenge has helped me become fitter than I ever imagined I could be and my head is in a much better place as a result.

For many years I dismissed running due to my knees but having built the distance and intensity very gradually, I’m now running every other day and really enjoying it!
All thanks to munrobiker introducing me to this challenge.

Another vote for the Decathlon Rockrider shorts. Mine are a few years old now and I’m definitely getting another pair or two. Perfect for gravel riding or when you don’t want to wear Lycra.

I’ve had two quick links in the chain on my fat bike for ages, this thread title reminded me.

I repaired it on the trail and completely forgot because it made absolutely no difference,

If the FA want to appoint an English manager then I think it’s going to be a Head Coach from the Championship.

Eddie Howe and Gary ONeil are unlikely to be interested and Steve Cooper has recently joined Leicester.

The only other coach who knows the players and the Premier League who’s available is Poch but again, why would he be interested?

Edit, I forgot about Potter, I think you’re probably right.

Another Oakley vote, M frames since the 90’s, never had a problem with them moving about.
