I dont think Clarkson has been on tv becuase its the BBC, its more to do with the popularity of the show.

But why has no one mentioned Idris Elba, i havent seen a single recommendation so far that I would consider watching apart from Philomena Cunk, she is just sublime, especially medicine crisps

I listened to Burnham on R4 about this and it was just nonsense, he doesn’t know if any companies wouuld be affected by this, its just rubbish.

but if a private company can do the job to the standards required cheaper than the NHS, who cares how much profit they make.
the value to us as users of the NHS is greater despite the profit making.

Well said, its as obvious as an obvious thing.

knowing how many standards there are out there, then surely it makes sense to figure out what you are doing first.

Also I wouldnt take any size as standard now. So many variants of everything.

I got mine saturday and had two rides in my local woods.
    Love it.
i am 5’10” and went for the large after trying a medium
i feel the large gives me a better option for all day rides.

I switched from a Spicy and am not missing the longer suspension.
Running Pikes on the front so its still very stiff.
been tweaking the suspension to suit, but found it climbs really well, and can handle everything i am doing in Esholt woods, Calverley etc.
in fact i am feeling confident already and been hunting out tech lines as the geometry with its slackish front and low BB, make steep tech fun.
Tapping down the canal, it felt like an ideal bike for all day rides as the large gives me room to shift about a bit.

29.1 lbs with pedals and looking at getting it down a bit with some upgrades,

so really happy and now lookign forward to some lakes trips

I find it quite sad that people are so insulting about people racing enduro.
its a fairly new format, but the lads I know riding it, train relentlessly, putting in a massive amount of varied training,
    road miles for base fitness
    BMX for sprint,
DH for flat out downhill speed
XC for more overall conditioning and fitness
    sprint efforts uphill
    gym for more strength.
and a lot of fun miles.

its paying off at the moment and I hope they get a shot at the worlds.
2nd at gisburn with a crash and the other 2013 masters National Champ.

if people want to have fun doing it non competitively then cool but dont knock it

I dont think it would have mattered which party was in power for the last five years, you cant put a rizla between them when it comes to the economy, that comparison to other countries is pointless as we were more exposed to the banking crash as our economy is more dependent on the sector.
problem is the country is too london centric, the regions need incentives to attract business from the uk and the world. in my view.

    but i cant stand Balls.

For the past five years I have been trying to manage a kidney disease and have gained about 30lbs, but when i take the diuretics, then I can lose 5lbs in an afternoon.

Now desparately trying to balance a healthy diet with reduced exercise and a sedentary life.

I used to have a Process 153DL and found it sluggish, was always out the back on the flat and uphill, it was brilliant downhill where it was like a mini dh bike, but no good for all round use in Yorkshire, swapped it for a Spicy and the spicy was brilliant, was suddenly back in the group on climbs and on the flat and no loss on the descents, i am currently looking at the Tranny Patrol but will want it to be light if it is to be a good all-rounder

the teachers who i know who are cyclists are all really good cyclists because they get to ride a lot.

They dont appear to be working long hours as they are getting to commute to work and still hit the chain gang twice a week and get plenty of rides in after work with the rest of us.

dont know if its the individual, the school the subject or what.

All Transition dealers are being offered a discount on marzocchi if you want to switch from Rockshox.

if you are looking at a new frame fork or a full build.

ive just built up our first Scout and Patrol and I think they look the business after a quick car park spin, they feel better than the old Covert.
I am not a fan of the banshees purely on looks, i know they are good, but I am really happy Transition are now running a horst link.

    Will be riding them soon,
good thing about Transition is you can get a killer deal on marzocchis to go with them

I have been doing a lot trail maintenance and creating new lines and trail features in my local woods.
some of the trails everyone rides, but there are a few cheeky obstacles I have created that I dont think anyone else rides, its like my own playground.
but the building and meeting new mates who are also digging has been an inspiration.
Plus my dry stone berm building skills have improved massively

SAP rates are rapidly going down as the Indian consulting companies are grabbing all the contracts, i recently saw a support role requiring 3 years experience for £60/day inclusive in London.

The indian companies know they can undercut and get the work then dictate rates, I reckon it will be tough in years to come and you cant get in to it unless you have been through an implementation cycle.

sketch some drawings then take them to an architect or structural engineer for evaluation and then they can create detailed drawings to be used for approval and design/purchase of new stairs etc

Yeah best thing for a LBS to do is forget about mountainbikes and sell road and commuter bikes.

The singletrackworld crowd are not a target market for an LBS.

We have dropped all but two of our mtb brands this year and re-focused on clothing accessories and service.
Still got some sweet bikes but these require time in the shop to spec and are not ideally suited to internet sales.
We have also looked at what we sell and tried to focus on brands that arent sold down the street.

The LBS is a great place to be working, customers are great, except some, but a **** is a **** no matter what hobby they have.

i love cycling and the sport of cycling and so do our customers so we sell what they want and we all have a good time, next stop is coffee and cake. would love a belgian style bar too, just need the landlord to let us have the next unit along.

I own a small LBS and its absolutely booming.
best period in our history (about 12 years)

we dont do anything with the internet, we advertise the shop on the net but thats it. business is with local people and we are thriving.

i think its all down to the staff and how good they are.

by certain do you mean me hora and what is a certain bloke
and as I assume you do, I cant see where I have said I think its alright, its up to whoever it has happened to to make up their own mind to think if its funny/banter or upsetting and worth pressing charges.

and as for tits not being genitalia, my point is if they are not there are a lot of sensitivities about them.

    Sancho

I am not saying she should have found it funny, just I found it funny when I had a pair of cans thrust in my face, if tits arent genitalia, then why are people so sensitive about them being exposed, seems to me like its double standards.
what if the guy had shoved his arse in her face would that be the same sexual assault, just asking

I think it was funny i had some cans shoved in my face without me knowing about it, still dont think its 9 months.

no its not made up, she and her mates filmed it on their phones and found it hilarious, i had gone to see Kings of Leon.

Its the same “crime” but i dont see it as sexual assault.
and if it was then i wouldnt think she deserved 9 months.

I remember falling asleep in hyde park and being woken by someone shaking me as i sat up I slammed in to a woman who was stood over me with her tits out.

Same crime, but I wouldnt have thought it worth 9 months.

does he have to get a job to pay his rent food heating etc
or is he living with his parents and have the luxury to pick and choose what career to choose?
